I have sent the letter to abbey requesting my bank statements, of which I have received 4 statements and the rest a long list of photocopies, which after looking through them, they are not even my bank statements, god only knows whose they are! The 40 days were up on the 12th Dec. Do I need to contact them requesting my statements and explaining their mistake or just proceed to the 2nd letter? I have statements of my own from Dec 02- Feb 06 and I was just wondering whether I should just claim the charges from the statements that I have or wait till I have received all of them. any advise would be greatly received.
They may be all your records on that account, and may look like gibberish. I recieved no statements from Littlewoods but just a long list of numbers out of which I had to extract the information I needed. You might find this is the same for you? Have a close look at them and try to link things up with statements you know you have. they dont have to supply the data in statement form, but as long as they supply the data, they have fulfilled their obligations. Thanks to everyone at Moneysavingexpert.com!
I sent my letter to First Direct on the 14th of December asking for the 145 quid worth of charges and interest on those charges to be reimbursed. I used the standard letter supplied by your site.
I recieved a letter back today (the 21st) stating that, although they were confident that they were well within the terms of their contract with me and that the charges were, in their opinion an agreed charge which would be upheld in court, they would pay me the money owed, but not the interest. They are doing so for purely commercial reasons alone (ie, to avoid legal fees). I assume they will be closing my account (which is still overdrawn) as soon as they have paid me.
Anyway - thanks again. I hope this will inspire people to continue harrassing these organisations and put a stop to their piratical ways.
Regards

I'm desperately trying to pay this card off (without much success, but it is early days yet) therefore a successful claim will go towards clearing the debt

Now, my question is ...of the £155 i claimed, £28 of this is not due to be taken until the end of december, so would one presume that the £127 is the £155 less the £27?i am happy enough to accept their offer, but should i say i am accepting it based on the assumption that the £28 charge will not come out at end of december? or do u think this will come out anyway??what do you think?thanks
any advice/comments anyone??0 -
