Joined the library near where I work today. Didn't think I would be able to as I don't live in the same area. They couldn't find my post code, but they just put it in anyway. Can now take out up to 20 items!!

Started reading Ben Eltons new one, Meltdown, earlier. Fantastic, I love his style of writing. I made a bet earlier with a friend that I wouldn't buy any more books other than college course ones or ones with gift cards etc between now and Christmas. Wonder how long i#ll last ....

  • Hi folks
Can I join too? I have way too many books to read and am totally weak willed when it comes to buying them. I tried to make a list of all the books I have sitting on the bookshelf (gave up on that idea pretty quickly) but when I discovered I had bought one book twice I decided enough was enough!
I am currently half way through The Rapture by Liz Jensen which is pretty good so far.

Finished a Jill Mansell book that I bought for 60p in the charity shop - I bought it to take on the plane to a Conference in the US and just leave it behind with a Bookcrossing sticker, but I'm now not going to the conference as I'm pregnant so will take to the charity shop. Also read I Heart New York that came free with Glamour, fun read but not to keep so again it's off to the charity shop with it.

  • Hi all not been around. I haven't bought any new books but my dear friends keep lending me books. I have a Sam Bourne, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the Life of Pi.
Tell me which one to start with ?

    I haven't sold a single one though....

I am trying to use the library more, although I end up ordering the book and that costs 30p per book; still it's cheaper than buying them.
I promised myself that I wouldn't buy any more (usually buy from charity shops anyway), then Barnardo's was having a clear-out and books were 2 for 99p outside the shop, so I bought 4, and when I went in to pay for them I saw an antique (old) gravy boat for £5 and of course bought that also!
Still I have enough books to see me through next winter if the weather is as bad as last winter and I can't get to the library.
