Have been a bit CBA about books lately so have been re-reading chick lit stuff as it didn't take much concentration. How do people manage to read on the bus? I can't concentrate enough.

Just finished a book I thought I'd read before, but it turns out I hadn't, Queen of Suburbia by Sarah May not sure I'd want to read it again. Going in the charity shop pile.

On the Twilight issue, I haven't read any, not in target group, but remember when DS was a teenager, it was a real problem finding books that were challenging enough for his reading skills but without the adult content. Fortunately he discovered Anthony Horowitz. ( This was before Harry Potter)

Anthony Horowitz is good! I have one of his Alex Ryder books and I loved it! Think its called Snakehead.

Now, I have an admission. I'm going to Finland for the fourth time to see my buddy in August, and I NEED to buy a Finnish phrasebook. However, as this is educational, it is not counted in the challenge....is that fair?

    Nope, that's reference. ;)

(It has to be, cos if I had to count the number of unused language books I have, my total to read would at least double!)

    Snap!

On Twilight, I was starting to be tempted to read them after seeing part of one of the films, all my 27-28 year old friends love them, and the only thing putting me off was this challenge and not adding to my pile! You've put me off though Pickle, I can't stand reading books which I think I could have written better, it's why I don't read a lot of chick-lit.

Well done on your bargain CM! If you're going to break your pledge you may as well be hungfor a sheep as a lamb eh?!

Still struggling on with Subtle Knife, can you believe it? My bed's just too comfy, I fall asleep as soon as I start reading!

That's exactly the problem I had with it and why it took me so long to read! I think it's cos it just doesn't grab you by the throat as much as it could and therefore sleep seems the better alternative to reading it. That was one of the reasons I wasn't too fussed about it/them TBH.

I'm on the penultimate chapter which just seems to be focussing on the troubled dreams of Lee Scoresby, and I can't see how they relate to the story at all, so it didn't hold my attention for long!

    Confession.
I bought 3 books from a local church charity fair. £1 for the 3, and it was for charity! The Devil made me do it!
