Finished Martin's 'Thrifty Ways for Modern Days' which is a pretty good read. Obviously it's a condensed version of what's on the Old Style part of the site, but I it's good as a reference book for those who don't have ample time to read all the threads, don't have the internet all the time, or just want a hard copy to refer back to from time to time.

Am back to 'La Dame aux Camelias', of which I have polished off another chapter. Bless the narrator, the poor sap, but he's got it bad for Marguerite (the courtesan) now. You can almost taste his love-sickness through the page, and it tastes bitter! ;)

Have read Patricia Cornwell's Blowfly and Philippa Gregory's The Other Queen

Got to take them back tomorrow but unsure as what to get next...any choices?

I've read Twilight, and lots of Dean Koontz. I'll read anything that looks interesting, I'm not fussy but I have been liking the historical drama type books and crime ones recently.

gosh, we are lucky, only have to pay 25p here in Kent to reserve a book

In Medway it is free if the book is held within the Medway branches but £2 if we have to buy it new or borrow from another authority.

Therefore use Medway if the book is on their catalogue. :D

Am returning two other computer books to the library. They were reference books I got out to show me how to do one or two things I didn't know how to do in Word, and now I do, so back they go.

More space cleared on my bedside bookshelf. :)

What the hell, the Jo Brand recommended by my lovely local librarian is going, too: I can't read a third one in such close proximity to the last two, so there's not point trying to delude myself - I can just get it out at some time in the future if I can be bothered.

Even more space on t'bedside shelf. :D

Pooh, pooh, pooh, pooh and double pooh.

Have just checked my library account online (don't do it too often as I have some stupid long login number to remember), and it seems that I messed up with the date my books were due back, despite having renewed them, so I now owe a £3.85 fine.

Pooh, pooh, pooh, pooh and extra pooh. Pah!
