Ooooo how funny - I found it a real page turner :)

Me too - film was dreadful though!

I'm enjoying Worldwide Adventures in Love by Louise Wener, it's half a story about two teenage girls in the 70s and half reprinted letters written by a girl in the 40s who they were friends with as an old woman.

Also been flicking through my Budapest travel guide as I'm off on Thursday!

Is that the same Louise Wener who was in the band Sleeper in the 90's?

Nah...it's a long book. Or rather, even though it's a long book it is one which takes a fair while to pliugh through. I don't quite know why, though. I took ages to read the trilogy. Perhaps it's cos I wasn't too enamoured and kept stopping and starting.

That's exactly how I feel, I've been looking longingly at the other books on my shelf that I'm not allowed to read until I've finished The Amber Spyglass! :o

Yep! This is her fourth book, her first one Goodnight Steve McQueen is fantastic and I very much recommend it!

Just found this thread...can't believe I've missed it up till now!

I'm awful for buying books and I have loads I need to read. So I'm going to get through them before I buy any more! (does getting them from the library count though!?:rotfl:)

Read the Lovely Bones a few weeks ago...I thought it was great but have heard bad reviews about the film so not sure I want to see it.

Just finished Blacklands (library book) and thought it was excellent. Would recommend it - its a bit of a weepy at points though!

Sooooo...next on the list is The Luminous Life of Lily Aphrodite - borrowed off my Mum!!

  • Just finished "In the Red" by Alexis Hall. Good book about a spendaholic and how she overcomes it.

I'm going to have to buy another book. My next book club choice is The Sea The Sea by Iris Murdoch, which I don't have already. I'll try and get it as cheaply as possible though!
