I'm going to have to buy another book. My next book club choice is The Sea The Sea by Iris Murdoch, which I don't have already. I'll try and get it as cheaply as possible though!
This is in my pile of books to read. It was a gift from my brother. I might read it when I've finished my Dan Brown book...:)0 -
I've finally finished 'The Debt Diet' by our own Martin. :T It comes much recommended as there are some bits that I don't remember seeing even on the site (but it could be that I haven't been looking in the right places as well). This was a library lend, but I am going to buy a copy for myself as I think everyone should have a copy of this in their house on the reference shelf: lots of things about mortgages in it are not currently relevant to me, but they will be one day, so I intend to have a copy of this useful book with me to explain it all (second-hand, mind: sorry Martin, but I think your coffers are currently in a better state than mine.
)
This book gets a 5-clap rating from me: :T :T :T :T :TPlease call me 'Pickle'

I got a bit of a second wind last night, enthused by finishing 'The Money Diet', so I also managed to finished 'It's Different for Girls' by Jo Brand as well, which is quite good as I was only about halfway through it.
'La Dame aux Camelias' come here...there's a good book, good book, sit!
EDIT: As for 'It's Different for Girls', I quite liked it, but certainly not for the quality of writing, which was wince-inducing in parts. Brand is evidently not a writer as her stlye is ungrammatical in places to say the least, but the plot was fairly action-packed and her characters are surprisingly three-dimensional (a trick the knack of which even some of the best writers have not developed). Her view of humans and their motivations are in-depth, quite liberal and unjudgemental, and I wonder how much of that is informed by the fact that she was a mental health nurse for a long time? Interesting...

I could try, but they charge to order something in and I can't guarantee that I'll be up to taking it back in time, especially if the lift's out of order cos there's two flights of stairs to get up to it!
Tete en l'air, thank you so much! I'll pm you now!Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

I think she's very funny as well, but would recommend the books as more of a library lend than a purchase.Please call me 'Pickle'
