Had a tidy up on the kindle and found the '2nd chance' collection (books that I put aside when I was going through a stage of reading thrillers....); that's 3 more to my list!
Started 'The Girl With the Dragon tattoo'
Hicks
I read the whole trilogy about 4 years ago. I found it a bit difficult to get in to - but after that I was gripped. The only downside - the characters in the book seem to drink a lot of coffee, so it made me want to constantly drink coffee too !! :rotfl:
In fact, I'm going to make myself another coffee right now!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Regarding reading one or more books at a time
I always stick to one book, always have done. It's a lot easier now with my Kindle, as I can take my book, whether it's big or small, wherever I goEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Just finished 'Snow Flower and the Secret Fan' - Lisa See.
A really fascinating read - an insight into 18th C Chinese culture from a female point of view, covering gender and social divides - including foot binding.
I found it a rather depressing, frustrating read however. And I disliked the main character! But I finished it and can return it to my friend now, thank goodness.
Next up I think it's got to be 'How Do We Fix This Mess?' by Robert Peston. I would like a deeper insight into the current financial crisis. Maybe it will help to resolve mine!!2014 Frugal Living Challenge

Oh please may I join this thread?
I had already made reading my unread books this years resolution so this is perfect for me. I have 35 unread books on my shelf plus a Kindle and a Kobo full of books. I am not a 'book snob' and will read second hand books so long as they don't look like they've been stored for several years in Hagrid's trouser pockets!
This year so far I have read Bonkers by Jennifer Saunders, Seekers by William Nicholson and an unremarkable Tess Gerritsen whose title escapes me.
I am as you can see not a speedy reader (1 or 2 month) and I have a 100 page rule -if I can't get into a book by page 100 I stop reading it. Life's too short for ploughing through books I'm not enjoying!
At the moment I am reading the Knot by Mark Watson and thoroughly enjoying it. I am planning to read my print books first as they take up more room. I wn't e buying any more but as everyone knows I love books I am often lent books by friends and family.
Here's hoping that this thread doesn't lead me into further book buying temptation!Stashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -

The Cuckoo's Calling I really want to read. I have decided to write a list of books that I'm only allowed to buy if on special offer... at least half price
Spotted the Casual Vacancy (I think) on a friends pile of books to read so hoping to do a bit of swapping.

Robert Peston is on hold!! Confession - I've found a further two unread books
I've added them to my lists to read and one of them I'm halfway through - will reveal all when I'm finished! Will update my signature too.
Happy reading this weekend folks! xx2014 Frugal Living Challenge

Managed to finish two books on Monday. Finished the Book Thief which I have been reading for January and really enjoyed and then read Wish upon a Star by Tricia Ashley which was fab (read that in one day as I couldn't out it down.)
Now reading the Perks of being a Wallflower.0
