Finished 'When God Was A Rabbit' this morning and have now moved on to Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. Will probably finish it tonight when the OH is watching NFL with his friend.

    Greetings!

    Another one down:

    Book #4
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This was a great, quick read. Possible the best YA fantasy book I've read in quite a while.

    Now onwards to #5...

    Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

    :coffee:

OMG Thrifty Pixie: I've just read the whole trilogy - how uncanny is that?! :T

So that's three more books this year:

    1) The Hunger Games
    2) Catching Fire
    3) Mockingjay

I wanted to read the first book before seeing the film, which is supposed to be very good, but then I wanted to read the rest straight away. The ideas are great but the prose is a little clunky in places. They are still good overall, though. :)

I loved this series of books, and the film is pretty good. Think my book club is supposed to be reading this next.

Almost finished Clockwork Angel, then I have no idea what I want to read next!

  • Er. OK. :o

    Current library stats:

    In progress: 1
    Read: 474
    Reference: 67
    To Read: 756
    Total: 1298

    :p

I thought I had a lot of books to read but after reading your post Thrifty Pixie I feel a bit better about it!

I put all the tbr books on my goodreads list yesterday (apart from library books I have out and a couple of books that aren't novels so I won't read cover to cover - just dip in and out of, Oh and a couple of graphic novels - so maybe more than I thought! :o) and was quite shocked when I got to 100 books (really didn't think there was that many) - really need to start implementing my read one library book, read one owned tbr book plan to start cutting the list down - on a positive note tho I'm not going to have to buy any for a long time! :money:
No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.
    Target for 2018 = 7/21
No more buying DVDs ? 2018 target 27/52

yes, she's good at keeping the pace up, and her imagination is wonderful but it's not exactly high literature!

#5 Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins 5/5

And I'm so glad I have the third to start on immediately as I'll be tucking into that tonight.

I do have a confession to make though...I may have bought a teenytinyslimvolume from my local pub's 'make a donation to the fireworks' shelves:

A Map of Nowhere by Gillian Cross

    Butbutbut it was only £1.

I'm still a bit annoyed with myself though so I think I'll now increase my goal to 25 :o

I've nearly finished Vanishing Acts. Really enjoying and although there's only about 20pages left I'm still not sure how it's going to finish. I'd finish it this evening but as I'm at OH's I wouldn't have anything to read on the bus tomorrow.

  • Hey everyone!

GREAT CHALLENGE! I am soo bad for buying all my favourite new releases at the intial cost instead of waiting until paperback /can borrow etc!

I also buy 2nd hand ones and have a huge pile to read even though i have a kindle .... SO, I am going to count the pile of books that I still need to read and update my sig, and then make a list of the new releases that I want so I can look out for them being on paperback or reduced on the kindle!

My current CC free target is 26th May - Maybe I can even last until then without buying ANY then get some of new ones at a cheaper price to read at the summer :T
What a great site this is!! lol
