I've finished the first of my books. :) the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. It was pretty good, though the end did make me a bit teary. My next book is going to be one of my many Jodi Picoult books. Think I'm going to go for Vanishing Acts

  • I've finished reading my first to be read book think I bought it because I liked the authors last book and it was cheap. The book I finished yesterday is called :It's called a breakup because it's broken was an interesting book to read made me think will be useful in future if I break up with anyone.Took all my books back to library and did good never got out or bought any books they had 3 big rows of books for sale aswell and the best books I've seen on sale in a library wanted to get quite a few and they were only 50p even the hardbacks.
  • Does anyone know how to speed read I've learnt how to looked it up on internet you put your finger in the middle of page and just keep moving finger down page below the sentence if that makes sense.Stops me reading the last 3 sentencess when I just read normally without my finger read slower but with finger read quicker.
  • Still not counted up my to read books but have finished a library book - The Ask and the Answer by Patrick Ness - the 2nd Walking Chaos book. I liked it more than the 1st, felt it moved along a lot quicker.

Going to read another libray book next - thought I'd try and get down my pile a bit before reading my to read pile. After I've read a couple more library books I think I'm going to alternate between library and to read.

I've read half of the first Lord of the Rings book, I just need to find the motivation to finish it as I'm finding it VERY hard going. I'm going to finish the 50pages tonight I hope...once I've got my room a bit more organised!

I'm also rereading the LOTR - 44% of the way through and I keep having to switch books - agree very heavy going!

I've got to admit, I've just been naughty and bought 3 more books - don't even want to know the total on my kindle now
Using my phone to post - apologies in advance for any typos

That pretty much seems to be it. It's about not focusing on just one word, rather the whole sentence so that if you miss out a word in your haste, your brain fills in the gap and you can just carry on without having to go back. Sort of. At least, that's what I understood about it.

And oooh, all those books I requested at the library have come in and I thought they would take ages to arrive. I may not have time to sleep over the next week or two! :rotfl:

Right, another library book finished: My Animals and Other Family by Clare Balding. Surprisingly good, I must admit: I didn't think it would be half as interesting as it was. What a pity for her that the book starts with 'I was a disappointment from the moment I was born and there's not a thing I could do about it.' What a way to be made to feel about your life! (She's done well for herself, though, since!)

I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you are of the horsey persuasion.
