I found it really strange at first and a bit hard to get into because it's all from the 5 year old boy's point of view. But I'm gripped by the story and what's happening to him and his mum. Will probably end up finishing it tonight!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

I think I read the 1st couple of pages a while ago and found it difficult to get into so put it away for another day so it's good to hear that it gets easier and gripping. Thank youNo more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.

I just love buying books.
Even going to the library I have the full quota of 15 books plus I even have books out on my DS's card. I'm a bad case
Every time I go to the library I promise myself I will only take books back, but I always see another books that I Like the look of.
I must go into the attic and clear out some of the books I'm sure there are some I won't want to read.

Hi everyone I think I need to start posting again. This was my quote in February this year. Since then none of the booksin the attic have moved plus I've had at least 20 more to my stash!! The latest 2 at the weekend - 2 Martini Cole from a car boot sale t the weekend!!. I have been reading more but according to my stash and going to the library means that the book pile isn't decaying. The trouble is there are always new books coming out that attract my attention. I really am a lost case.
Anyway what have I read
Knots and Crosses by Ian Rankin - enjoyed
Swimming pool Sunday by Madeleine Wickham ( Sophie Kinsella)
- easy read
Now reading Eleven by Mark Watson
I Adlai also listen to playaways ( talking books) which I get from the library. I listen when I'm at the gym or in the garden. With playaways you bed to wear headphones are than listen to them out loud.
That's all for today. I will post again soon.

See my post above in February & October last year. I have read a couple more books since then, but have also added to my Kindle (4 more books to the existing 20 on there.
The attic books still remain in the attic!!!
Every time I read about a book i think i might like to read I add it to my wish list on my library card. I don't know how long this wish list is, but at least I haven't bought the books!!!
I joined good reads the other day, but haven't yet posted my reading lists.
Happy reading everyone. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that loves books.

a little question for any Philippa Gregory lovers out there:
i was given some brand-new hardbacks earlier this year:
Changeling
The Red Queen*
The Kingmaker's Daughter*
The Lady of the Rivers*
and i already own a secondhand copy of:
The Wise Woman
now....is there a particular order i should be reading them? i know that these * three are in the 'Cousin's War' series, but are they stand-alone books?

Ah so you're Pixie! I just add anyone that wants to be friends!
Just finished Room, it ended how I thought it would, and I'm glad it ended there. I hope there isn't a sequel or anything.
On to The Bat by Jo Nesbo now. He's one of my fave authors and I hope he writes some more after The Cockcroaches is translated into English!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

let me know how you get on with them, i love so many of her books, couple of faves are the constant princess, the wideacre series, the two about john tradescant and other boleyn girl.
i googled and found this list on good reads of the order they should be read in
Currently, the chronological order that these books should be read in is -
1) The Lady of the Rivers
2) The White Queen
3) The Red Queen
4) The Kingmaker's Daughters
5) The White Princess (not yet released)
NOTE - where The Last Rose fits on this list is currently unknown.SPC~12 ot 124

ooh. thanks. as the law of sod would dictate, this means that i could read 'The Lady of the Rivers', but would then have to buy 'The White Queen' before i could read the others i own.still, i haven't read any Philippa Gregory yet so i'll wait until i've read the first before splashing out in case she isn't my cup of tea.
i'm racing towards the end of 'Mockingjay' as i reaaaally want to finish it before the end of January. don't ask me why, but i regularly set myself these little challenges. still, i'm around 3/4 of the way through so it's doable over the next two evenings.
then i have to decide what to pick up next. actually i better start thinking about it now as i hate being without a current book! :undecided
