That's a total of 18 books! Two are part of a series so I need to join the library to get the first books before I read those. There are quite a few non-fiction books on the list, I read my first non-fiction book (The Incredible Human Journey - Alice Roberts) cover to cover a few months ago and loved it so much that I went and borrowed a load from my Dad. I'm not sure if I'll ever read them all though as I think you have to be in the right mood. Does anyone else read non-fiction?

I might have a small problem with this challenge in that I HAVE to buy some books! I will buy every book Terry Pratchett writes, the next Song of Ice and Fire book and the next book by Carloz Ruiz Zafon because I love them and need to own them! I will at least try to wait until they come out in paperback and look for the cheapest copy I can find though :o

You can tell I'm off work today, I've written an essay - oops!

I absolutely loved Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell - it's not my usual kind of book at all, but got completely swept up in it and couldn't put it down.

It was one of those books that you get totally taken over by and then feel really lost when it's over.

That's good to know! I've been a bit put off by the size which is silly because I regularly read books of about 900 pages!

I loved the Radleys - I got another of his books for Christmas - The last family in England, which was also an interesting concept told from a dogs point of view

The only non fiction books I think I've ever read (apart from school books obviously) are adventure books - Between a rock and a hard place (now 127 hours) and Touching the void are both brilliant but I'm not so keen on other types as I usually pick up books to get lost in a different world (I read a lot of fantasy type books).
No more buying books Books in 2016 = 20.

littlepinkstars those books on your list sound like the kind of thing i like to read so now i'm tempted to go look some up:)

Finished Wives and lovers by jane Elizabeth Varley. I actually really enjoyed it which was unexpected and got completely pulled into the characters lives HOWEVER i didn't like one of her character decisions at the end of the book so that is niggling me at the mo. ***

Now I'm off to raid my book basket for my next adventure.

Am I the only one who doesn't have a kindle and has no desire for one?:(

haha thanks. I run a YA book blog, so most of my books are YA paranormals sent out for review from publishers. I do like to read other genres, but never seem to have the time lol.

I always felt like that, but when I started to look at all the self published books selling for 99p and less on Amazon I decided to get one, got mine Jan last year and I love it! I actually prefer reading on my kindle now. Mainly because I don't need two hands to read and turn book pages, leaving me free to stuff my face while reading lol! But seriously though there are so many good self published books I read in 2011 that I would never have hears of without the kindle.

I have picked my next two reads.
    1) The courtesans Lover by Gabrielle Kimm another different genre (thanks sis)
    2) Dear Fatty by Dawn French.

im starting two because the Dawn French one is a hardback and just far to large for me to carry with me when I am out and about. The other will fit neatly into my bag and therefore be at my fingertips whenever a reading oppertunity should arise:D

ljaneyr I read non fiction but not as often as fiction, being a massive lover of history a lot of both my non fiction and fiction revolves around the subject of history. But I will read anything that catches my eye.

As for kindles i see the advantages but i just love the actual realness of a book, the feel, the smell, the action of the page everything. I am at my happiness in a library or book shop:o but I may one day be converted

I'm the same, I love escaping. Sometimes the fantasy world seems more real than this world! I'm really interested in history though so might try to stick at the non-ficition books too.

  • Hi Pickle,

Please can I join this challenge? I've just found it on the list of challenges link which went out on the news letter and I really need it's help.

I am a self confessed bookwormaholic, I bought 2 new books last week when I really didn't need them I only bought them because they where new ones by my favourite authors!! :o

I've just had a count up of all the books I have yet to read and I'm ashamed to say I have 57!! most of them I bought from charity shops last year but I end up putting them on the shelf and then reading the the newest ones I've bought :(

At the moment I am reading The Lady of the Rivers by Phillippa Gregory which my brother and his girlfriend got me for xmas and I love it, it's the next book in the War of the Roses saga, I'm about half way through now.

Thanks for the links to sites where I can sell these after I've read them too I think I will definately be using them.

I'll keep you informed on how I'm getting on with the book reading :A

Huge thanks to everyone who takes the time and effort to post all the comps! :T
