I really didn't get on with Under the Dome and abandoned it about a third of the way through. I've read most of Stephen King's others and liked them but I absolutely hated this one.

There was so much violence in it (most of it really graphic and deeply unpleasant) that it gave me nightmares for a couple of days while reading it.

If you can get through it all you're a better reader than I am!

Hi all nearly bought some books from Amazon this morning then I remembered you lot on here and stopped myself (phew) So now am going to go through my book collection and write down which ones havent been read, list them on here and cross them off as I read them. I may also sell some that dont appeal to me any more. Better get to work, happy reading:)

I have finished Edward St Aubyn 'At Last' first of my Official Unread Kindle Collection which now stands at a more frugal 75 +2.
This guy who writes with great erudition articulates the lives of depressed suicidal alcoholics who wish to be alone to work things out and survive, a great help to me. His Melrose Novels are now officially on my List and he is on my Must Read Authors List. (Gaurdian discovery)

Esp @Torry Quine I plan to demolish some 600 page jobs and have a 1,470 pager 'The Critical Tradition, Classic Texts and Contemporary Trends' David Richter to conquer this Year( but only in context of nabbing Goodreads 75 Book Reading Challenge, this time by reading books and not just resorting to audiobooks important as they are; to fasten the process).
