Im so excited to join this thread......i Looooovvvvveeeee to read:j. Yet due to other life commitments the past few years have seen me reading less and less, but still buying:(. As i am taking sometime out of work for a while its the perfect time for me to get back to one of my favourite hobbies. I had already started to keep a personal record of my reads for 2012 but now i have a place to share:D.

I have a basket of books that i haven't read but I know that there are plenty in my bookcases that i haven't read or that i can't remember reading so they will be added to my basket.

So far i have already finished one book 1.'men of the otherworld' Kelley Armstrong. A good read for those who know her series or who like to read about werewolves/supernatural beings.

    2. 'Heart- shaped box' Joe Hill........I'm about half way through this and so far it quite good.

    Happy reading everyone:)

  • Perhaps MSE Library builders and Money saving Book Readers need to work out suitable ratios that mean the following jobs get done 1) Librarires get built an asset and an expression of self 2) Money get saved, on book purchases and by NOT spending money by actually reading one's acculmutated mass purchases. Therein lies the tension.

  • I've just come across this thread and I love it! I've got a Kindle and currently have at least 30 books in my "unread" folder and vowed not to buy and more until they are gone.... except it's been the Kindle Days if Christmas sale and I ended up buying 4 books at 99p each :o

I doubt I'll EVER get my "unread" list down to zero because I check the "free" Kindle list weekly, but I'll join this thread and try not to spend any more than £2 per month on books from now on :A

Next on my list to read is "The Help", which I bought in December when the Kindle price finally became reasonable :)

I finished 'Heart-shaped box' tonight, a good read, some thought provoking ideas about death and the afterlife as well as escaping the past but all in all a good basic ghost story that keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see how it all ends. 2/5 stars.

Next on my list is 'Wives & Lovers' by Jane Elizabeth Varley. I haven't read anything by this author before and its a complete departure in genre from the last two books I've read so hopefully a more gentle read :D

    Happy reading fellow book lovers:)

I went through all our books and brutally removed all that I knew I really wasn't ever going to read. I then removed all that I had read and wouldn't read again, and donated to the local charity book stall.

I now only have Karin Slaughter, who I will read again, and currently the rest of the family are working their way through, and one or two favourites such as Little Women.

I shall not buy books again, unless they're keepers and shall only use the library, as the house was beginning to resemble a library that had fallen into disrepute, with loose books everywhere!
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
  • Tintingirl I loved The Help, a really good read ;)
