Well I've been rattling through my list and now only have 32 left in my pile of 'to reads'. The best of my most recent reads was The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay. I loved it!
However, I've got to admit I've caved twice on the not buying books front. I bought one in Poundland a few weeks ago and another from a charity shop recently. But the one I got from the charity shop was one I've been after for a long, long time!0 -
finally fiished "In the shadow of lady jane" i enjoyed it twas very detailed in its history and a nice enough story not quite as good as innocent traitor IMHO but very sympahhetic towards lady jane.
got a tudor wife (about jane parker george boleyns wife) from the libaray and started that alongside BounceSPC~12 ot 124

I'm reading my fifth Karin Slaughter book (Fractured) but to be honest I am finding it a chore and I can't wait to finish it.
I've hired The Reversal (Michael Connelly) from the library and collected Mo Hayder - Birdman - so those will probably get read next but after that do I read the first Jo Nesbo (The Redbreast) or the first Stieg Larsson book ? I think I have all the Jo Nesbo books and the 3 Stieg Larsson books so would plan to read them all in order, one after the other.....
But I can't make up my mind ?0 -
Been reading a couple of the other half's climbing books In to Thin Air and No Way Down recently, finished the first and am half way through the second - I def don't want to start mountaineering! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

OMG this thread is me!
i own at least 350 books possibly even more i have too many to count, i buy box loads at carboots as im not fussy about what i read and find that i can offer £5 to most people at carbooters and get in excess of 20 books at a time i do read a lot and often read 5 or so books in a week (last week i read 9 and i have a full time job! friends often wonder how i do it, but i watch very little tv which i think helps) anyway, i have probably read 200ish of the books i have, but i hate getting rid of them, i have 3 big book cases and the rest are in boxes in the dinning room or loft, i collect James Patterson books (not his new ones unless i see them in charity shops/second hand. as i never pay more than £3 for a hardback) my BF who moved in with me earlier in the year has been supportive as he knows how much i enjoy reading but even he has now turned to me and told me NO MORE!! well not untill i have read them all!so im trying to be organised, he has said i need to restrict the amount i own onto just my bookcases! (that is going to be soooo hard) so last weekend i started going thro some of the boxes, sorting into not read, read or read but want to keep. the ones i have read but dont want to keep i am ebaying, or donating to friends. and i am making a pile of the ones i need to read so i can get started on them. the ones i have read and am keeping i am putting onto bookcase 1, once all 3 are filled i many need to get more ruthless. wish me luck!
oh by the way, the book i am reading today is Kiss the girls by james patterson, i have read it before but many years ago, i love it, i also like the film which is rare for me as i dont often like film adaptations of books.
sorry i have written an essay but i hope you can see that books are a bit of a passion for meOk new year and a baby on the way I need to sort out my finances!0 -

Hi
Could I join this thread please? I'm new to the forum and thought this described me perfectly. I love books and am always browsing in book shops and buying new ones even though I have loads at home to read - though I have been trying harder lately to read what I have 1st. Thought this might give me more incentive to read what I have and save money (hopefully!)I'm reading my fifth Karin Slaughter book (Fractured) but to be honest I am finding it a chore and I can't wait to finish it.
