I've just finished "Big Stone Gap" by Adrianna Trigiani - nice gentle love story really - no violence, no bodice ripping I liked the way she described the countryside.

I wonder if anyone here has thought of doing the "Big Read Top 200 Books", this was a programme on BBC2 about 5 ? years ago...
It's my ambition whilst trying to save money to read the top 200 - I've read 67 of the listed books (not all at once) and I have about 35 of the books on the list. My plan is to use my library to try and read the rest of the books on the list without spending any money. I wondered if anyone was "up" for supporting and or joining me in my quest to read the top 200.

I've got a copy of the list of the top 100 (I think) from a few years ago. I've only read about 35, so I'm trying to make my way through those which are on the list and in my collection as well as the rest of the collection in general. I'd be up for it, but I won't be able to *just* do that as I also have loooooooooooooads of other books that aren't on that list to read.

I've been at this on and off for 4/5 years and I'm really going to knuckle down and try and read at least 5 titles from the list this year - starting with No. 2 - Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen tonight.
