I've finished reading Windfall. It took me a month to read but then there were 800+ pages. I enjoyed it - it was just what I expected from Penny Vincenzi. I'm moving on to a chick lit book: Fairytale of New York by Miranda Dickinson.
I have to confess to my first book purchase since I started this challenge. I needed 2 books for Xmas presents but there was a 342 offer and so I had the third book for me, The Winter Ghosts by Kate Mosse.0 -
I've been a good Pickle on holidays...I read 'Monsieur Malaussene au Theatre' (short, but good), and finished 'The QI Book of Animals' (full of furry/beaky/snuffly fun). I only have two books to go until I've hit my target of 25 for the year. I really hope I get there! :TPlease call me 'Pickle'
No More Buying Books: ???

NMB Toiletries ??? and I've gone back for my Masters at the University of Use Ups!

Well done, Pickle! I might set myself a target for 2011... It will be nice to have more time to read over the Xmas break that's for sure.0 -
Book no 24 finished today: 'Through Thick and Thin' by Gok Wan. It was interesting, but sped by in a day or so.
:xmastree: Merry Christmas everyone! :xmastree:Please call me 'Pickle'

Can I join this! I am totally obsessed with reading, buying books, reading about books, browsing book shops and my amazon wishlist is about 50 pages long :rotfl: Problem is I'm working full time and doing an open uni degree so I don't have that much time to read but keep on adding and adding to my to be read pile! I work just near a waterstones (although they are not very MSE) and can't stop myself from going in there half the time and spending an hour in there choosing a book just to add to my pile!
So I will try and get through some of the books I already own before buying new ones. Just finished water for elephants and passed it on to my gran, and my mum wants to read it after. I just can't bring myself to give away most books either (except the chick lit or £1 bargain books which I give to friends or charity shops) even if I won't read them again they make my shelves look pretty ha ha
Not going to write a list but let's say the to be read pile is spiralling out of control!"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."0 -

Welcome and Christmas greetings and the above is EXACTLY how I got into this mess in the first place!:rotfl:

:xmassign: Morning all!
Got a couple of books from Santa- Paul Ogrady's The Devil Rides Out, which I've had to stop myself buying for months. I really enjoyed the first book so I'm glad Santa managed to pick on all the hints I've been dropping! The other is "Miss Julia Speaks her Mind" by Ann b Ross which I bought with Ama£on vouchers. I really like Fannie Flagg and this author is in the same vein apparently.
Currently reading The Redeemer by Jo Nesbo, which was mentioned on here a few posts back. Its excellent! A really good crime book with loads of twists!
My resolution this year is to make a proper list of what I've got in my cupboard still to read. In my defence, I havent parted with any cash for books for ages, all of my reads have been from the library.;)
Enjoy your Boxing Day - hope you all have plenty of reading time!:)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
