Ohhhh - hello Polish Big Spender, seen you on other boards, did not expect you to venture here LOL

Well, I do have some very bad experience of trying to help here (Bruno) so since then decided to help where I can.

Not interested in politics of all that - just helping where I know I CAN make a difference in some poor dog's life.

On that forum money is collected for a particular dog and ALL the money is going for the welfare of THAT dog. There is no "waste" of money for admin or whatever

Private people organise transport, vet visits, behaviourists visits,"adoptions" from the shelters and all.

Just wanted to say something -

Yes, it's true that many dogs spend their lives in shelters here. There just isn't the same culture of "oh, no-one wants Fido, let's kill him" that many "Animal welfare" charities have in the UK - and for this, I'm thankful.

I note that the RSPCA in the UK is particularly well known for throwing money at pointless prosecutions and harrassing people, while killing dogs because they can't rehouse them (or can't be bothered to).

Dogs Trust and Cats Protection have a policy of never killing a healthy dog.

The RSPCA is only in England and Wales, though they are quite happy to take money from Scotland and Northern Ireland they do not operate there. They are not an UK wide operation and have no connection with the SSPCA.

Cats Protection have a policy of never killing a healthy cat. .
That may be CPs official policy but there are many instances where this isn't adhered to

I have seen a manager sacked for that amongst other transgressions, including waiting till it was too late to call a vet for a sick litter of kittens while he ordered a new chair for himself.
He was a baw headed muppet though, he lasted weeks in the Job which came with a house and everything, he was warned and turned round and said, OK I will have a word with my staff about it, when it was him who was not up to scratch.

Dogs Trust did not put him down, sorry that a dangerous dog had to be put down by another charity but you wrong to say dogs trust had something to do with it. A dangerous dog is not a healthy dog anyway, it is no more healthy than a dangerous human being.

Sorry, my mistake, Blue Cross not Dog Trust - Dog Trust refused to help full stop.

Just some photos of that killer dog with one of my friends:

Now, back to Buba as I really prefer to keep this topic on her.....

Buba is going to see the vets next week for full health check and a dental assesement, hope all goes well :)
  • Buba is gorgeous, well done. Unfortunatly there is thousands and thousands of dogs in this world with no one to love them and everytime I hear abot someone takin one on it gives me a little glow. Well done. my dog is a pedigree but also unwanted as he has teeth problems and needed an operation straight away - some people only want what as perceived as the "perfect" dog - where it should be the perfect dog for their sitution and them the perfect family for the dogs needs.

Looking at Fokus and other dogs in similar situations break my heart. I think what you, and everyone who is donating money, are doing is admiral. Well done.
