During my wirtual trips on a Polish dog forum I came across a dog that just stuck in my mind..

Today I have made a decision to bring her over here and give her a home with us in London.

Please meet Buba - nobody knows exaclty how old Buba is but she spent her last 10 years in a shelter, time for some nice life for her...

She knows how to give a paw but has nobody to give a paw to most of the time...

Isn't she just adorable? I know you can not read Polish but some photos of Buba here:

and here:

She will be joining us as soon as we complete the necessary documents for her - may take 6 months but.. she is so worth it....

The "belly up" photos were taken to see if there are any signs of Buba having been neutered.....

:D

And before anyone asks why I did nto adopt a dog here - I have tried that before but was never considered a suitable dog owner as I work and live in a flat with no garden .....:(

I bough Zara (my GS girl) and I bought my cat Tiger - from Gumtree

But now, because there is no more quarantine - I can adopt this georgeous Buba :)

Wish me luck and pl;ease keep yoru fingers crossed for us so all goes well - I will be placing Buba in a temporary home in Poland till she is ready to come over here, my friend will bring her over by car.... on a velver cusion - she deserves a bit of luxury after 10 years of being just a number in a schelter :(

EDIT:22 Feb 10 - Buba in a garden of her foster home, out of the shelter she was in ;)

Very cute! Congratulations on your decision to welcome this deserving doggy into your world. I hope you can get her with you as soon as possible so she can start being pampered for the first time in her life! Treat her like a princess :)
  • She is very sweet - she is a bit like my Badger, only umm... plumper!

Do you think Zara will accept another dog in the home?

Poor old girl, she looks so nervous and desperate. Why has she not been chosen in 10 years though? What are those photos of the marks on her tummy? And goodness, isnt she overweight! Is that because of lack of exercise? I notice her nails need sorting out too.

Its going to cost you a fortune to bring her over isnt it? Its very kind of you. I hope she gets to have some quality love and life, bless her.

    :(

ummm doesn't matter where you get a dog your still in the same position.

nvm I'm currently in the same boat, but hopefully moving soon to a house and garden.

my god that pup is plump, is it because she is in a tiny box with no exercise?
hopefully you'll post piccys in the not to distant future with the pup having a better life and a happier face. best of luck

    Thanks everyone :)

Buba was being turned upside down (or rolled rather...) as theer is no record of her ever being or not being spayed so people working in the shelter were looking for operation marks....hence those weird photos ;)

The whole procedure will take 6 months (DEFRA regulations) but hey.....she is worth the wait ;)

It is nto going to cost a fortune to bring her over as my friend (who brought 2 of her own dogs over here) is going to bring her from Poland for me when all the paperwork is ready.

Once I have her out of the shelter and in "foster home" - she will be seen by a vet there, decent food, exercise (some dogs in thsoe shelters never get taken for a walk :() and obviously those nailsssssssssssssssssss are going to get clipped...

Very sad to see her tiny little box :( Kind of you to think of her, but I do wonder why she has been there so very long?

Perhaps because there putting dogs to sleep is not as common as here...

Some dogs spend all their lives in shelters

I have seen dogs that have been in shelters for 13 years or so and die there (antural causes) and never have a home.

Some we manage to get out and let them have last few years in private run dog hotels (paid for us, forum members on voluntary basis).

Thsi one.. well.. she is coming here to live with me.

It is nto a tiny little box - it is her kennel, they had to take the roof off to take few photos as she refused to come out - camera shy......

Theye have those woden kennels inside their enlosures - they are nto locked in little boxes :)

Not ideal but - they are alive and have some chance, not end up with a needle in their arm..

Here, some more photos of Buba from January:

  • poor girl - it's not much of a life, is it?

looking at the photos, I do think she is quite similar to Badger in her make-up, short legs, ginger eyebrows etc.. the proportions appear to be very similar if she was leaner...

Oh she is so beautiful. What a lucky girl that you have come into her life. No matter that you don't have a garden, what you have to offer is a loving caring home, and a commitment to her happiness - that is so much better for her than what she has now. I hope there are no hitches and that she arrives with absolutely no delay.
