The Bad Mummies Thread

I belong here...
LB is currently eating smarties. I am poorly, he is determined, he had sweeties for breakfast today.
And I have smacked him. I have smacked him for refusing to come away from a plug, for pulling the cat's tail and for pulling the cat's whiskers. Not only am I a bad mummy but I am bad at being a bad mummy - the tap on the hand I gave him only made him giggle.
I am counting the minutes until he goes to nursery todayBut I have to scrape the muck off him first...
And I make him wear socks more than one day
Edited to add - I am completely failing to get him potty trained. He is more stubborn than I am!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
pigpen I love you! :rotfl: If all 8 are still alive then obviously it can't all be that bad!I slap them when they are horrible.. it makes such a pretty sound
And the baby led weaning - I think I should read more books... I did this too at 4 months (yes 4!!!) because DD was trying to grab and consume everything I was eating (yes really... even my salad which is deeply concerning - small children surely should be drawn to chocolate and crap???) and she's still breathing... I think NOT reading all the parenting books has caused me far less stress than anything elseI have read the annabel karmel food books for ideas... but I think that's it. I DID buy a second hand copy of supernanny for when she's older though

my younger son wear socks all the time even in bed and night and i confess i never check that he has put a fresh pair on in the morning.
I dont count the number of boxers that go though the wash each week either so shock horror they could be wearing a pair of pants for more than one day0 -
I'm joining too this was my reasoning from the other thread ;-)
Ive always used wipes and disposable nappies, always given calpol and gripe water and when i had my first child 11 yrs ago (ducks for cover before she says this) i dipped her dummy in whiskey when she was teething. I smoked through my first two pregnancies although i did give up after having DS1. I completely weaned my first two on jared food and must admit to having a few jars stashed this time round as well.
I also used to make DD & DS1 milk bottles in the morning and store them in the fridge till needed now i just make water bottles and add the powder later which apparently is just as bad.
Good god reading that lot anyone would think i hate my kids!!:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
My name's Glamazon and I'm a bad Mummy
I ate rare steak & runny eggs whilst pregnant
I drank the odd glass of wine when pregnant
I use wipes & disposable nappies
I FF Jack from 3 days old
I put him on Hungry Baby Milk at 11 weeks
I started weaning him at 18 weeks
I have started giving him jars of food
I put him down to sleep on his front
I put him down to sleep with a dummy AND a little pat on his back
I leave a nightlight on for him ALL night
I let him sleep in my bed if he is really fretful in the night
I have put him to sleep in his own room at 22 weeks
I give him teething gel and A&P Powder for his teeth
I give him Paracetamol if he is crying in pain
I give him juice BUT in a cup not a bottle so not too bad
I don't even rinse his dummy, I just suck the fluff off it before I give it to him
I no longer sterilise his bowls or spoons as he shoves everything in his mouth
I leave him in his sleepsuit if we aren't going out anywhere
Am sure there are plenty of other bad things that the Government would have a cow if they knew about but you know what?
He's my son and I'll do what the bl00dy hell I want to! :cool:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
