Your welcome, Thriftylady.
Actually, I hadn't realised that homepage links weren't allowed if they were just helpful ones. I guess they have to protect because lots of spammers come on here.
Anyway, from what I've already read I'm sure its going to be a really interesting site to follow.I loved the 40's experiment - I'm right, that was you and your family that lived a month on wartime rations, wasn't it?
Have just done a morning of gardening and am bushed so its feet up and a cuppa while I menu plan my way through next week.
Need something to wash down that cupcake that I couldn't resist after dinner.
Suzi - you DH has made a great start. :T I know that each stone before that I lost made a big difference to how my knees felt. I bet you're proud of him.
It's tricky with the kids. My DS2 is 16 and he really wants to lose weight but he struggles with sticking to it. Trying desperately not to let him feel bad when he overeats but to brush himself down just wait till his hungry again before eating.
Tis hard if they feel hungry a lot. Teenagers have hollow legs, don't they?
I shall try and find some healthy, filling snacks for mine and will post if anything works and it might be useful. I'm searching for cereal bar type recipes that aren't loaded with sugar. Oaty things go down well with him and fill him for longer.
I'm away for a cuppa now.:coffee:MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Quick visit today as I'm feeling rather sorry for myself for some reason - I think the discussion about sausages and bubble n squeak at work this afternoon didn't help.
cheerfulness - I've got the cookie recipe! :j They're basically Anzac cookies with extra oats, apparently - I'll PM you the recipe as posting it on a weight loss thread seems a bit mean.If anyone else wants the recipe, just let me know.
Today I've had:
Breakfast - mini shredded wheat, fresh mango and semi-skimmed milk
Lunch - salami and tomato sandwich; two mandarins
Snack - mini-pack of dried tropical fruit and brazil nuts
Dinner - pork chop in mustard sauce with cheesy-topped mashed root veg
And no sausages or bubble n squeak.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
CCP and Cheerfulness4....I treat the ground elder like spinach, either steam for a couple of minutes or pour a kettle of boiling water through and sometimes use it as a salad ingredient when lettuce is scarce....OH is not really aware that he is eating it, so have not felt the need to enlighten him. Planning on trying it on DS1 and his family when they come for the weekend by wilting it into cooked curry.
Today I have eaten:
Brunch....3 slices bread made into tuna salad sandwich;
Dinner.....small piece of steak, mash ( with butter!) bok choy, mushrooms onions stir fried with a splash of both red wine and oyster sauce. Glass of mixed carrot, apple and something else juice found in Lidl....very sweet so must have a look at the bottle to-morrow to see what's in it....I know I should have done that before purchase.
Going to look for your blog now Thriftlady, your food is always interesting.
Good luck all

Wow Marie, might try that this weekend...I am losing some of my plants in among the ground elder that is coming through from next door at the moment , and with this crushed and broken toe this past week, I have only been able to watch the ground elder grow!!!
WI tomorrow, expect a gain as I have been doing no exercise the past week, and munching away all the time:(
Oh well, a new start (again!) in May!
