    Good morning all,
Some fantastic loses on here, well done folks :T Genius & rach.
Keiss - you poor thing! DS2 broke his big toe years ago and I almost had to carry him into the hospital it was so painful. Brilliant idea about the fleece. DH is always moaning his feet are cold but hates slippers so I may well make him a pair of bootees.
Not a happy bunny this morning as I've found DS has been munching his way through a pile of food including treats, which were supposed to last him the week. I need to sit him down and explain about calorific values without a/ getting his back up and b/ turning him into a neurotic calorie counter. He's been doing so well that I don't want him to blow it all this week. I know hunger has very little to do with it but he just fancies eating something 'nice' as he puts it, and that's why I've built the daily treats into his diet.
DH thrilled yesterday when a pair of joggers bought in A**a fitted him, they've started doing larger sizes (well they are an American company). Normally we have to buy from a specialist shop which costs a fortune. So I went back today and got him some new t shirts too. I hope it will boost his morale as he was very down at the weekend after he'd seen the photo's he'd asked me to take of him from the front, side and back and sitting. He said he couldn't believe he'd let himself get into that state. I told him he's doing so well and that when he's lost weight he'll be able to look back at them and feel so proud of what he's achieved.
    Have a good day folks.

    Hi cheerfulness:wave:

keiss - I hope the toe is soon sorted out, sounds very sore x

suzid - am so glad your DH is doing so well:) hope DS takes your 'little talk' well! my DH was oding really well but yesterday we had a day out and both had a few slip-ups, him more so than me though. Still he's managed to get into some shorts that were too tight a few weeks ago so there's hope yet:D he really needs to shift some for medical reasons although being a rather big chap he carries it well(over 6ft and just over 17 stone)

genius - I usually end up cooking several meals too, DS and DH will eat a lot of the same things but not all and they eat meat and I dont. I tend to cook my veggie type stuff in bulk and freeze the extra portions to save time.

unlucky T - hope you soon feel brighter x (STS is good if you're comfort eating)

    Afternoon all,

Trying to do the simple way of losing weight....eat less, move more, but so far am hovering around 15 stone which is way too much for my 5ft 3 ins....was to be good to-day but instead of my weetabix and banana for breakfast I had 2 croissants with lime curd and a banana. OH is having left over dinner from yesterday and I am promising myself 2 poached eggs with potato and veg....might have a huge amount of groundelder, which I am trying to eat into extinction!

Congratulations to all the losers and good luck to everyone else....glad to hear that Frogga is alive and well.

Funny you should say 'eat less move more' Marie as that's what I've decided to call my new blog. It should be up and running by the end of today. I'm really hoping it will keep me motivated.

Good luck with your endeavours x

Genuisscuffy - well done on your massive loss - that's fantastic going! :T

suzid - well done to your DH, too. :T

meanmarie - I've never tried ground elder. What does it taste like?

thriftlady - I love the name of your new blog, and I look forward to reading it.

cheerfulness - still no cookie recipe, I'm afraid. Maybe that's a good thing, though. ;)

    Today I've had:

Breakfast - HM wholemeal bread with a scraping of butter and honey (well, I guess it won't hurt occasionally :o)
Snack - half a mini pack of mixed dried fruit (cranberries, apricots and apple)
Lunch - cheese, tomato and salad cream sandwich; side-salad of mixed leaves and some marinated olives; rest of the pack of dried fruit
    Snack - banana
Dinner - a sort of spicy veggie sausage, veg and bean bake I'm concocting - I've no idea what it will taste like yet :); fresh mango, possibly with a sprinkling of sugar to take the worst of the sourness away
Back after a very long break!

Ohh Thriftlady's website is up and running. Those opening comments about REAL FOOD attracted me instantly as I feel quite strongly about it personally. Don't like to post a link without her permission but she's linked it to her homepage which is available via her profile.

CCP - yep not having the recipe is probably just as well for now, she's maybe rescued us! ;)

I hadn't realised you can eat ground elder either. How interesting. I'm fascinated by the whole foraging thing and would love to learn more and give it a try.

    Food today:

    Weetabix
Cream cheese, ryvita, cucumber, grapes with coucous salad
Cauli cheese, baked potato, carrots, peas

Snacks: grapefruit, apple, pot of mixed fruit.

I've eaten a couple of extra bits yesterday so need to watch that. (2 pks crisps & 4 coconut delights :o )
I think I was a bit like your son Suzi, seeing the treats and blipping for a moment. I also have a son losing and its tricky to set the right example and not make them paranoid about eating.
I said from when I first started a while back that this was going to be a long journey of experimentation and learning and it is being. Strangely quite enjoyable, too.

Shall have my weigh in on Saturday and then set myself a little mini-challenge like babymother I think to motivate myself.

    Catcha all later. :)

Thank you all so much for your support :T.
Urm...... the talk with DS could have gone better, though I didn't chastise, but tried to encourage and help him! Typical teenager, lots of crashing about on and off for the rest of the day :(. Said he was hungry not just eating for the enjoyment of it, but I totalled up about 3000 cals he must have had. Oh dear.

Anyway DH can fit into the new t shirts, a bit snug but not seam bustingly so. He's very chuffed. Tappy your DH is but a tiddler, my DH is 6ft 2ins and 28st (must have been about 30st at the start when he was off the scales. Ours go up to 28st 8lbs). A very long haul to get to a healthy weight which he is finding very daunting. However if he doesn't, he's putting his life at serious risk. DS has been following in his dad's footsteps at 6ft 3ins and 21st, and he has a follow up appointment with the practice nurse next month to check his weight. DH was saying that he thinks his younger brother will soon end up in a wheelchair, he's so overweight and inactive. My MIL can hardly walk, she's so big and her hips need replacing. Very sad and I'm desperate we turn away from going the same route.

Weigh in day for me tomorrow  so fingers crossed.
    Have a good day all.

Thanks, you sweetie :) I did post about it on this thread last night although I didn't do a direct link because we're not allowed to link to our own sites. Either I didn't hit the reply button or it got removed. There's not much to see yet.
