afternoon all,
Floyd - I know how you feel, as in not 22 anymore, but more embarrasingly for me I fall asleep when I drink so I rarely get hangovers any more:rotfl:
Baby mother glad you've found a meal plan to suit you, I'm trying to cut down on my carbs at night but still struggling. But I like the thought pattern that wine is fruit
Suzid - brilliant week for you, well done :T
I've only skimmed the last few posts so sorry to those I missed.
I'm finally back on track this week after a marathon 3 meals out and 1 roast - very much like buses everything came at once!
I had bean chilli the last 2 dinners and have baked chicken in a spicy yogurt sauce tonight, day times have been ok as I'm sooooo busy at the mo.
Hope everyone has a great long weekend, I'm off on a short break for my Mum's birthday next week so I wish you all lots of will power and weight loss.

OK, I cracked, just a little bit. I've been very, very good all day but my planned dinner was just too joyless for a Friday evening - I'll make the tomato pasta sauce with some shallots softened in the tiniest splish of olive oil and a sprinkling of parmesan, and add some olives to the salad. I think I might treat myslef to a small glass of wine, too - it can't hurt that much, can it?
It's not quite as super-healthy as planned but it's still pretty good, and I have to be careful not to take the whole dieting thing too far (I'm not joking, or not entirely - I can get carried away so, if I start talking about cutting out all fat or how little I can get away with eating, I'd be grateful if you could tell me to stop it. Thank you!).
floyd - I hope you're feeling better by now. Good for you for agreeing to drive tonight, too - healthy and generous all in one move.Have a lovely evening.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
Only put a small amount of ground elder into veg this evening, nobody noticed....one up for me I think!
Today I have eaten:
Clementine, porridge with dried fruit, teaspoon sugar and milk;
Snack...small helping of antipasti....salami, cheese, gherkin, tomato, chorizo;
Dinner....reasonable ( for me anyway) helping of beef chilli with steamed rice, slice hm cheese and onion bread with butter, small bite of weetabix brownie.
Weighed myself this morning and seem to be around 14st 11lbs, but I have CCP's problem with locating the scales so not sure....will see how it goes next week.
Good luck to allWeight 08 February 86kg0 -
Hmmmmm - put on 3 pounds this week :mad::mad::mad:
Not really surprising since I hardly moved, and ate far too much!!
Had a lovely lunch out today...not overly good (or bad)..it was my friend's 90th birthday, with her daughter and son-in-law taking us out for a meal. Left the house at 12 and didn't get back until 7, a lovely day nattering and eating!!
I was able to wear shoes for the first time in a week, and it wasn't as sore as I feared. I had my foot up at the reastaurant and then at the nursing home where my friend lives, so not too painful today.
Working tomorrow, only for 4 hours though. DH is taking me, as driving could be asking a bit much of my crushed toe at the moment!! Hopefully I will be back behind the wheel next week sometime.
Right, off to bed...a bit late with things tonight...caught up with most threads tonight...sooo many virtual parties going on...the most raucous is in Glasgow...what fun!
Will be meal planning again over the weekend...I have decided to go back to posting my food for the day on here again, so will post sometime tomorrow...it makes me think more carefully about what I shove into my mouth!(well, I need something to sort me out! :rotfl:)

Marie - The meals you post each day are just mouthwatering. I always used to think that when I was here a couple of years ago. I'm salivating over the thoughts of cheese and onion bread. :drool:
Well I'm over the moon because I've lost 1.5lbs this week. :j As I've really eaten too much on occasion I can only think that its down to all the gardening I've done and actively trying to be more 'busy'.
So, what to set as my three week challenge? :think:
I think that I'll attempt to lose 8lbs. I'd really like to make it 10lb and then I'd be under the next stone mark but I think I'm whistling into the wind on that.
Nope my three week challenge will be to lose 8lbs.
There, now its in pink I'll have to do it.
Food today:
Bacon & beans with bread and butter
Creamy lemon/garlic chicken pasta with salad
Salad roll (in HM cheese & onion bap)
Snacks - 2x malt bread (round Dr Who :dance:) apples, grapefruit, tropical fruit juice.
Glad the foot seems to be repairing Keiss. You sound like you had an idylic day yesterday.
Editing: just remembered, have no ground elder but do have bitte hairy cress which is delicious and goes very well in my salads so I've harvested plenty and is all ready and waiting in a container in the fridge! :T
If anyone else is interested in foraging this pdf I found is very good.

Well done Cheerfulness :T:j brilliant. I'll join you on the challenge, but mine is for May - I'd like to lose 4 -6lbs. OK to be honest I'd like to lose 10lbs to be under the 13st mark but I know it ain't going to happen short of amputation :eek:.
Sorry about your gain Keiss, but once you're back on your feet again I'm sure it will soon drop off. Without the dogs dragging me out I'd either be like a barrel or be only able to eat a couple of mouthfuls a day. Not a happy thought.
Very happy to say DH's birthday book arrived today from New Zealand and is as new. Had to force myself not to start reading it as it shows the guy before he lost weight and pictures as he lost, plus measurements. Looks very interesting and if it helps it will have been a good investment.
Today is treat day for the boys, with pizza's. They've had one a week since starting yet still losing so it's something for them to look forward to. They are both working at the inlaws today so I've been mucking out DS's room this morning. Found several wrappers I'm not happy about and expect to report a gain for him this week. Perhaps that's what he needs to realise he's overeating. We'll see.
Me today:
Porridge with prunes and fruit juice
Half tin of baked beans on 1 slice of toast, fruit and yogurt with flaked almonds
GFY Lasagne with salad
Snacks - raisins and melon"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown0 -
Thanks suzi - I'm truly thrilled, but then I still do a dance round the room if its only 1/2lb. I'll take whatever comes off even if it is in dribs and drabs.
What's the book your DH has? Sounds interesting.
If you DS is working at the in-laws maybe there's a chance he'll burn some of those 'extras' off.
I still haven't decided how to tackle my DS2 extra weight but I've noticed that he seems to be losing since I changed my shopping habits and started buying in fruit juices, no pop and cereal bars. (I know some are loaded with sugar :mad: but they still seem a better alternative to sweets.)
Nothings banned from him eating but I don't keep it in open view and my two are too lazy to go searching. :rotfl: He doesn't 'secret eat' and is quite loud and proud about what he has but he's becoming aware of calories by himself.
Having had my own dieting issues in the past my worst nightmare is that he develops an unhealthy view to foods but so far he seems to be more sensible than I was at 16.
He also says he doesn't want to use the scales, which I initially wondered might be denial but now think is probably for the best. As you said Suzi, we shall see.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Congratulations cheerfulness, well done on your loss. :T
I am hoping that I can lose all if not all that I gained in the next week. Just have to eat less and get more mobile...we'll see how it goes.
Here's todays food:
B: Porridge with sultanas, not OJ as we have run out! (delivery later today)
S: One mint sweet, developed a tickly cough at work this morning, no use if you are on the phone, so "medicinal"Cheese on toast, not very healthy, but Dh made it and we are very low on everything atm oh, also had a couple of wrinkly satsumas, hard to peel, but delicious!
S: an apple, only fruit left
T: HM stew, made on Thursday...yummm. Mashed potatoes (using soft & wrinkly ones), possibly wilted ground elder...will see what DH says
S: SF jelly...must make some NOW!
Right off to do some gardening...after making those jellies
Have a great day...no rain here (so far!)

Well done, cheerfulness! :T And good luck with your challenge.
I did my weight check this morning (carefully putting the scales on the nice bit of floor, obviously!) and they showed another 2kg lost. :j I might have gained a little of that back just from the chicken salad I bought at lunchtime, though, which was more mayo than chicken. :eek:
Thanks meanmarie and cheerfulness for the mention of cheese and onion bread - I'll have to have another go at making some as it's one of my favourites. My one and only attempt at making it was a bit of a disaster as I forgot the yeast- hopefully my second attempt will be a bit better.
keiss - I'm glad your toe's feeling a bit better - as you say, I'm sure weightloss will be much easier when you're not immobile with pain.
Today's meals:
Breakfast - wholemeal toast with a scraping of butter and honey, and a banana
Lunch - very mayo-y chicken salad and a chunk of granary bread (spread with butter, as I thought it wouldn't make any difference to leave it off with all that mayo around)
Dinner - bacon and courgette lasagne (only a small portion, though it shouldn't be too high-calorie anyway); stewed pears
Good luck to everyone losing weight, both posters and relations of posters.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all,
Today I ate:
Porridge with raisins and banana, clementine, 1 slice cheese and onion bread with butter;
BLT, shared an apple with OH;
Small amount bacon, lots of cabbage one large potato with butter;
Coffee with brownie.
Cheerfulness....thank you for your kind comment, if you ever visit this part of the world feel free to call for a meal.
I made the bread with sr flour, salt, powdered onion ( thanks to DD3), ball mozarella chopped, about 2ozs mixed grated cheese and wet it with half milk, half water. Knead until smooth, press into tin and drizzle with olive oil....no idea of amounts as, liquid should be enough to give you a soft but not sticky dough. Mine was large so baked it for an hour at 180c. It is cooked when base sounds hollow when tapped. Think that I would use more cheese or stronger one next time.
May have another clementine before I go to bed.
Congratulations to all losers and good luck to everyone else.
