OK, so going out with friends last night proved to be a mistake in one respect. One of my friends really disapproves of dieting (I've never been quite sure why) - she overheard me telling someone else that I was trying to lose weight, and informed me that healthy eating was for idiots and I really needed to sort out my attitude problem.

The only positive thing was that the insult meant I had no inclination to join the group for a late-night curry (not that I would really have wanted to anyway - midnight is way too late for me to be eating).

    Anyway, whinge over! :o

    Today I've had:

Brunch - porridge with banana, dried apricots and maple syrup
Afternoon snack - handful of nuts and dried fruit
Dinner - chicken and bacon club sandwich, oven chips and avocado salad (well, it is a bank holiday! :o;))

suzid - WD to your DS - looks like he's doing well. :T

Morning all! It's gorgeous here today and the birds are singing hell for leather. Makes you feel all good inside. :D

Sorry about your back, Tappy. Hope Dr can help today. ;)

Suzi - I'm delighted to hear DS lost. :T I guess at 6' 2 he can get away with a bit more than some of us. (sulking that I'm only 5'4 and every lb shows:()

Someone once reminded us on this thread that if you lose just 1lb per week you'd have lost around 4 stone in a year. :j Perhaps if your DS was also reminded of that it might make him really proud of each little lb that drops off and motivate him a bit more.
It really helped me anyway cos I've a long road to take. ;)

    Food today:

    Toast and marmite
    Not sure about lunch yet.
Beef cobbler, carrots, peas, cauli and green beans

CCP - she wasn't a bit on the hefty side herself, was she? Maybe you hit a raw nerve. :p Don't let it worry you. You're doing just fine. :D

Weighed in a day early to check out the damage after a weekend at my parents! have lost 2lb so the walking really must be working!

Back on the wagon today with my usual puffed wheat brekkie and have bns and lentil curry for lunch. Only fruit in the bowl was pineapple which I was in too much of a rush to prep so need to go and see if I can scour the office for something healthy to snack on.

Have started knitting a patchwork blanket so am hoping that will help keep my hands off snacks in the eves - don't want to get crumb on my beautiful rowan!

Total loss so far 8lb of 26, and I dared to try on a dress I want to wear for a christening this weekend and it fits!

Good day for me today, managed to not have any treats even though a less-than-helpful colleague was waving biscuits in my face :(

    Morning all,

Think I join Marie in the 'not very good yesterday' corner. I had another eccles episode. Actually, it was followed by an apple pie moment, too.

Still, no matter - we continue.

Tappy - I can just about touch my toes but can't breathe when I do, tummy crushes lungs. :o

    Righto - to business!

    Food today:

1x weetabix + slice raspberry jam on bread
Sml cheese omelette with mixed salad, beetroot, olives & grated carrot.
HM fish pie with cheesy potato topping, carrots, peas, cauli and g beans.

    Snacks:
    Apple, satsumas and grapefruit.

Intend to have a quick hoover through, lick and a polish and feed the washer all day so that I can settle down and enjoy watching back episodes of The Edible Garden while knitting. Bliss! :D

Hope you're all doing well and behaving. ;)

I'm going to have to join the 'not being good' club, too - my mother came to visit yesterday and we went out for dinner in the evening - unfortunately the sticky toffee pudding proved too hard for me to resist. :o

Hey ho, back to goodness today. I'm having:

Breakfast - two slices wholemeal bread and greengage jam; pear
    Morning snack - banana
Lunch - chicken salad sarnie (no mayo :(); small portion marinated olives; apple
Dinner - HM bean burger in a bun with salad

cheerfulness - I think you're right about the reason for my friend's reaction. She lost a lot of weight a few years ago and was very proud of herself, then put it all back on plus a bit - I think it's still a bit of a sore point with her. This thread is great for reminding me that I am doing the right thing, whatever she says. :)
Back after a very long break!
