Oh my word -400! Rach no wonder you dipped in.

I've put on 3/4lb today. It actually was a relief as I'd imagined at least 3 or 4lbs because I've been grazing. :o

No matter, I shall join the rest of you in persevering and enjoying starting a brand new (very good :D) week.

Just had a duck egg and fingers but not sorted food today as rushing out the door.

    Catcha all later.

I was rather reluctant to step on the scales this morning, but was very pleased to find I weigh the same as I did last week. :j That's actually a bit of a surprise as I've eaten a few things I shouldn't this week and have been feeling so lousy for the past few days that I haven't been up to doing any exercise (or indeed anything much other than curling up on the sofa feeling sorry for myself :().

I'm feeling a tiny bit better today, though, so hopefully I'll be able to report a loss again next week.

    Yesterday's food:
Breakfast - porridge with banana and maple syrup
Lunch - open sandwich of low fat cream cheese, salami and tomato on rye bread; small pack of veggie cracker-type things; apple
Snack - handful of dried fruit and nuts
Dinner - pasta with bacon, pesto and mushrooms; ice cream with toffee sauce; couple of glasses of wine (I said I'd been a bit naughty, didn't I? :o)

    Today is:
Very late breakfast - rye bread with greengage jam; mixed dried fruit
Afternoon snack - banana; honey-coated mixed nuts
Dinner - mushroom, ham and smoked cheese pizza or calzone (I haven't quite decided which yet); avocado salad; stewed pears afterwards if I'm still hungry

floyd - I know what you mean about eating out. I now tend to stick to one of a limited range of local restaurants where I know the food is good, as I've had too many disappointments elsewhere. I hope you enjoyed your trip to the farmers' market - did you pick up anything good?

Keiss - I'm sorry to hear you had bad news - I hope everything's OK, or at least OK-ish.

BabyMother - a couple of days late, but well done on your loss. :T
Back after a very long break!

    Hi all

I am just popping in to test the new look forum but decided to post something here because goodness knows, after my trip to Italy I really need to do something about my weight!

How does one subscribe to a thread? After all these years I haven't yet figured out all the techie bits and pieces of the forum! Thank you.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Hello everybody,

Nice to see you here Caterina....don't understand your question which shows what a numpty I am, someone else will be wiser.

    Today I have eaten:

B....porridge, banana, tsp sugar, milk, tea and slice bread and butter.

    L....apple, slice cake;

D....half portion takeaway noodles special, bread, 1 spring roll, water, large slice cake.

As you can see I have overeaten by about a million calories so will have to seriously tighten belt for rest of week.

floyd - I hope you enjoyed your trip to the farmers' market - did you pick up anything good?

I was very restrained and bought rhubarb, onions, a cauli, asparagus, some carrots, 2 packets of fresh pork, chilli and fennel sausages and an individual corned beef and onion pie for OH to take to work :D I was very very tempted by the scones that were so freshly baked they were still warm and the beautiful rye bread loaves :o

I have done pretty well today, no rubbish and no unecessary snacks either

B/L: Cheese and HM chutney sandwich on wholemeal bread

D: HM thai red chicken curry (had pak choi, baby corn, fine green beans and some asparagus in it) served with jasmine rice

Supper: Wholemeal toast (no butter) with light cream cheese

    Snack: Large cappuccino
  • Firstly, congratulations losers!

Caterina, great to see you back! Glad you had a lovely trip in Italy. (*is not remotely envious, no, not at all!* :A) I used to know how to subscribe to a thread with the old system... Aha - go to "thread tools" at the top of the page, click on it and it should drop down and say "subscribe to thread". :)

Floyd, those chilli and fennel sausages sound absolutely scrumpious! I call it a very successful trip to the farmer's market.

Keiss, I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. Let us know if the Paul McKenna book works!

Rachbc, you poor thing having such temptation in your house! You've got much better restraint than I have.

I didn't dare weigh myself on the Wii Fit the other day. I'm going to be brave and do it this afternoon while OH is outside doing the gardening.

    Meal Plan for Today
Breakfast: Porridge with a teaspoon of honey
Lunch: HM Pasta Salad (olives, salami and low fat mozarella)
Dinner: Roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, sweetcorn and gravy.

Not planning on snacking as OH has hidden all signs of chocolate, bless him, in an attempt to go along the lines of "out of sight, out of mind" mindset in removing temptation from me. He seems to forget that I know where all his hiding places are, so his theory doesn't really work. ;)

    Hi all,

Another decent day for me with no rubbish, just proper meals and homecooked stuff :)

B: 2 wholemeal toast with cottage cheese spread on top

L: Wholemeal roll with cheddar and HM chutney

D: HM toad in the hole (using some of the lovely farmers market sausages), steamed carrots, cauli, peas and asparagus and chicken gravy using the stock I made from last weeks roast

I'm lovely and full now :)

Hi Marie, Keiss21 and Miss_Imaginative and thanks Keiss21 for indication how to subscribe to a thread!

I have failed miserably to start something sensible today as DH made me a fav nutty-fruity porridge with lashings of syrup, then I was having a very long lie-in and by the time I got up I was starving so I had 4 pieces of bread with oil and balsamic vinegar even before I had lunch (asparagus omelette and pea-shoot salad).

Tonight I am having lentil and veg soup so it is going to be a bit better, but I think I need to sit down and work out a proper plan.

At the moment I am almost 100% vegetarian but eat small amounts of oily fish for the omega3 (smoked salmon, smoked mackerel and a bit of tuna - but only tinned so no omega there) and a bit of fish and chips or fish fingers for added proteins. I eat eggs too, but I am completely off the dairy because I have discovered I am intolerant.

(Marie, do you remember my cheese-eating orgy in Sardinia? That is what persuaded me to give up the cheese altogether and I am feeling much better for it!).

So if anyone has any suggestions of a plan that could suit my needs I would be delighted to hear about it! Thank you.

    See you around, hopefully! xxx

floyd - sounds like you got a good haul at the farmers' market - those sausages sound absolutely delish!

Caterina - I can't suggest a specific plan but, personally, I've found that recording my meals on here helps - if I know I'm going to have to come back and record on here that I've eaten something else, I seem to be less likely to eat it. I don't know if that works for everyone, though, or if it will keep working with me once the novelty of posting wears off. :o

I've been relatively restrained today after deciding to finish off the wine with last night's dinner (:naughty::o): I've decided I'm not going out tonight for various reasons, though, so it should (hopefully) balance itself out.

    Today I've had:
Breakfast - honey loop cereal with dried apricots and semi-skimmed milk
Lunch - low fat cream cheese, salami and tomato sandwich on HM granary bread; portion of wasabi pea crackers (a bit naughty, but so yummy! :)); apple
Dinner - tomato, onion and mozzarella pasta bake with the avocado salad I didn't get round to having yesterday; stewed pears and mixed dried berries (which I must go and put on to cook in a second - typing that reminded me that I meant to do it earlier...)
Back after a very long break!
