  • Bravo, keiss.

Managed to gain two pounds this week, despite not overeating and doing a lot more exercise.

    hopefully premenstrual.

Shandyclover you might found the NoS diet useful, don't worry it isn't a gimmick just common sense. I'm sure it would would work for me if only I weren't so greedy.

    It is simply

    No Snacks
    No Seconds
    No Sweets
Except on S days which are Saturdays, Sundays and Special days (birthdays, Christmas etc)

They advocate smaller plates too -9 inches. The site has a useful forum.
Thanks so much for the link Thriftlady.
I've been low carbing & am now within 3 lbs of my target. I haven't found it too difficult but have been wondering what I can do to maintain my target weight when I get there. This sounds ideal.

    Hi everyone,

Is there room for one of the 'old girls' to return? :D

Its been about 2 years since I posted on the OS weightloss thread (think we were up to part 2/3 when I was around- how time flies!) but I've just spent a whole afternoon reading back over those days and know I need to be here again as this is where I got my help.

I notice that there are still a few from 'my days' on here which is lovely to see.

I've been inspired again by you all and have been secretly reading, too embarassed to post as I've gained most of what I previously lost (kept off 4lbs of the 4 1/4 stone I lost. :o )

Anyways, after a rocky couple of years lifewise I'm now back on track and have just completed my first week of food diaries and forward meal planning. The result is a 3lb loss this morning. :)

Am feeling excited and ready to grab the bull by the horns again so shall enjoy sharing your successes and hopefully adding some of my own with you all. ;)

Well done Keiss and cheerfulness! :T

I did my weekly visit to the scales this morning and found I've reached my first target - 4kg loss - already, and I've only been dieting for a week. :j I have a horrible feeling it's going to get considerably more difficult from here on in, though.

I've had a bit of a day off on the food front today as I treated myself to a pub lunch and a few other naughty bits, but I had a long walk (about 8 or 9 miles, I reckon) so I hope it didn't do too much harm.

    I've had:

Breakfast - two slices of brown toast with butter :naughty:, a banana and a handful of mixed dried berries
Lunch - roast chicken sandwich (heavy on the mayo :o) with a side salad
Dinner - very veg-heavy chilli con carne, brown rice and a garlic naan bread (:o again)

I must go and rest my aching legs now - I haven't done any really long walks since last autumn, and I'm feeling it now!
Back after a very long break!

  • Oddly enough, on the scales again today (I know, slapped wrists!) and lost 5ilbs off yesterday's weight.

I will assume yesterday was a blip and claim 3lb loss, though I may be kidding myself!

    Good morning all,
Welcome back cheerfulness  lovely to hear from you again. I too crept back here after gaining 3st of the weight I'd lost, and it felt like coming home. So much encouragement and support. Congratulations on your great start. Also big congrats to Keiss, CCP and Tappy. Grateful your body is probably still adjusting so don't be disheartened if there's alot of fluctuation. Congrats on the loss.
Hello to Dobie, you are doing so well and I'm sure Taplady will give you plenty of inspiration once you've achieved your goal.
Stroppy, how did you get on? My DH and DS are both trying to shed the pounds and I'm posting their efforts on here so take heart, you're not the only male.
Today was weigh in day for the boys, and I'm so proud of them as they have both lost 3lbs. After DS STS last week, is seem the home cooking worked this week and the weight is starting to come off again. Plus he's been doing a lot of manual work helping me shift soil, and helping at his Grandparents, when not in college. DH has so much more energy since starting the healthy eating and is no longer constantly falling asleep. He wants the book by the guy in the program "Fat man slim" for his birthday so I'll have to order it second hand from New Zealand as it's not published over here. At least the planes are flying again or else it could be a very long wait.
Breakie - porridge, prunes and fruit juice
Lunch - boiled egg and salad with pud of fruit and yogurt
Tea - chicken with lots of veg and potatoes
Snacks - melon, raisins or orange
    Have a good day folks.

    Afternoon everyone. :)

You've made me feel so much better suzi, ;)and I know exactly what you mean about the 'coming home' feeling. :D

So back to business ( in my attempt to forget my 2 year 'blip' :o )

    Food for today:

    Bowl of frosties
Chicken salad open sandwich with seed bread, olives & few peanuts
SC lemon/garlic chicken, cauliflower, roasties, carrots & peas.

Snacks - Muesli yoghurt and satsumas.

Have just been fortunate enough to catch all the reduced bargains in Tescos so will hold off baking my seedy loaf as got a Warbartons seedy batch loaf for 45p. (yum!)

I've also made up a huge batch of olive hummus and wondered what others eat it with other than ryvita or carrot sticks. Any ideas? :undecided

Grateful - well done on the loss! and Keiss for that matter - just spotted that first lose of April. Bet that felt good. ;)

Best go do something productive like supervising DH's decorating. :p

Hiya Taplady! Still doing well I see. ;)

Hi Cheerfulness! yes still sticking at it! managed to maintain it for over 2 years now! :j I put it down to a complete lifestyle change and to not thinking I'm on a diet as if I was dieting there would be a finish to it and with weight loss there never is a finish, you just have to keep plodding away forever! sounds grim but its not. When you are at your target weight you can have the odd treat as long as you are eating well for the majority of the time.

    back to it today.

B - 1 ww toast, 1 weetabix banana seeds and raisins

L - small brown roll, tuna and salad, grapes and frenchfries

D - quorn lamb fillet, new pots, veg.

    S - yoghurt.

have a great Sunday all x
