I have been bad over the last couple of days in that I have craved sweet stuff. Went out shopping with my sister on Monday and ate a shortbread cookie, opened my Easter Egg that night and ate one of the Wispas out of it (sharing the other two with MrM and Emma) but then last night ate the whole egg so today I am back on track!!!

Had Fruit and Fibre for breakfast, am gonna go eat a banana now and then have half a tin of baked beans to have with toast for lunch. Will snack on grapes this afternoon and then have chicken with pasta and sauce for tea - will make a side salad to have with it as well. It's the munchies after tea that always get me though! x

    Hi all,

Been manic in work since we got back so I've been an absentee for a few days :)
Welcome all the new folk and well done to those losing

Proper meals have gone out the window as I have been working 14 hour days and OH is working 2-10 so he hasn't been home either. So I have been eating far too many sandwiches and too much toast!

B: 2 wholemeal toast with cream cheese

L: HM veggie chilli and brown rice

D: Not sure yet, maybe jacket spuds with tuna and salad

S: Probably nothing as I don't have any fruit in work and wont haver time to go out and get any

Have a good week all :)

ooh the beans & banana will keep you going for a while as they aer both slow energy release..
do you like dried fruit? you could have that as munchies in the evening... or try the hot choc thing as that will satisfy the sweet craving (well it does for me ... i have to remember that not everyone is the same :embarasse.. which i so often forget)

i would not worry too much about the choc slip up either.. :D

Hi rainbowfairydust, I did get into the really good habit of eating fruit in the evening as well so will try this again. The Options hot chocolates don't do it for me as they taste too sweet - it must be the artificial sweeteners in them - I much prefer a malty drink but these are high in cals!

I know what you mean about it being expensive to eat healthily and this is something that really annoys me. All the time the media/government are banging on about obesity but don't seem to do anything about the supermarkets who constantly promote high fat foods. I would love there to be a tax on high fat foods and also think that GPs should be able to give out fruit/veg vouchers to obese patients so that they can readily buy fruit/veg. Getting down off my soap box now to get that banana I mentioned! x

Wow! Hello everyone, so many new folk I thought I'd got the wrong thread.
Still keeping to the healthy eating with my men. DS STS last week but we were trying to measure his food, exercise balance. So this week he's having more of my cooking and less of the processed food he's so fond of. DH had lost 4lbs last week and is very proud of himself. This morning he said "I'm not bothered about having breakfast but I know that would start me back to my old way of eating", yes he's got it :T. So porridge it was for him. I'll find out how I'm doing in 9 days, so fingers crossed.
There's no slimming products or diets in this household, mainly because I object to parting with the money but also because I want all our food to be as natural and additive free as possible. I lost 5st a couple of years ago eating 'normal' food including the odd portion of cream and butter. It was only a very stressful year last year that sent me into comfort eating and putting back some of the weight. So here I am again back to eating sensibly and this time trying to set a good example to my menfolk. In a way I'm lucky in that the thought of letting them down stops the odd illicit nibble. I have to plan a weeks menus to fit in with what we'll all eat and stick to it so the food bill stays the same (apart from the week DS was 'trying things to see if he liked them').
Hoping to get in the garden and plant some new cottage garden plants to replace the winter jasmine I dug out at the weekend. It had become a jungle, rooting all over the place, so out it came. Need to do some digging first and also walk the dogs so plenty of exercise to come.
Breakie - porridge, prunes and fruit juice
Lunch - beef with salad - banana, grapes, yogurt and flakes almonds for pud.
Tea - HM chicken sweet and sour with boiled rice.
    Snacks - raisins or/and orange
    Have a good day folks.
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life, gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown

Have you tried the low cal ovaltine light? i know its 72 cals but i'd sooner have one of those than a choccie bar...

agree with you with regards to fruit/veg vouchers... something needs to be done.. will have to see what happens after the election !

I've only just noticed though that those Muller lights sold in the multipacks are smaller than the individual ones.
