I've had a bit of a wobble over the last couple of days. Kept snacking like mad on Friday - Quavers, crab sticks, Fruit and Fibre. OK nothing too excessive but I couldn't seem to stop eating! Yesterday got a really bad craving for chocolate and nearly opened one of the easter eggs that I've already said I will give away for a chocolate tombola. Had two large Haribo cola bottles instead but then went round to a friends last night and drank wine. Never mind, it happens doesn't it? Will see what the scales say tomorrow. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Getting addicted to Kraft Italian salad dressing (put it on some cold pasta tonight). I'm sure its full of E's etc. Any ideas for how I could make my own version please? What can I use in place of oil? Thanks.0

Thanks for all the congratulations on my weight loss so far... still naughtily weighing myself every day which I really must stop doing, huge shock yesterday at a temporary gain (or scales glitch?) of 3lb that was not there day before or this morning when I weighed myself...now weighing 12st 13lb.
First BBQ of the year yesterday, I ate a lot but had made sure I didn't have much before or after so I think it levelled out...
DH always says when I try to lose weight he inadvertantly loses some too because I cook healthier and serve smaller portions, and that is certainly proving true. My first goal was to be lighter than my husband but he has gone from 13st 3lb to 12st 8lb since I started! He also been working harder recently though (gardener) and has his winter belly to lose so I am pleased for him and not at all jealous in any way at all ... honest..
Current treats are Bacardi Breezers at 100 calories a bottle, satisfies sweet cravings while feeling slightly naughty so I don't crave chocolate.
Well done to everyone who's lost or stayed the same.. and to those who may have gained - new week tomorrow and all that...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Welcome to the newbies and congrats to the losers you have done well.
I've not been on the wagon for a bit and much as though I'd like to say I'm unorganised its more like I'm straight out of will power
So today is a renewed effort and fridge & cupboards are full so I have high hopes to STS for WI next week.
TODAY IS:
B: muesli with s/s milk - 350 cals
S: w/w fromeage frais - 65 cals
L: salad leaves, carrot & pepper with balsamic vingeratte, a large teaspoon of pot salad & coleslaw - 150 cals
S: crisps - 130 calsbean chilli - 600 cals
and a glass of wine - 200 cals
Mousey look for the reduced fat salad dressings which only have about 20 cals per serving rather than 150!0 -
hi, an STS for me.
Eaten nothing but junk lately and keep saying to myself tommorow i will start, which then happens the next day, then the it gets to friday and im trying to convince myself im going to start monday and i hit the viciouse cycle again.
Im also finding my food shop money disapears on junk and anything else, will have to try meal planning and looking at the os recipes and so on.
im not brilliant at cooking/planning and trying to excersize and feeling pants and low at the moment but any attempt to keep going on a regular basis must be better than nothing.0 -

Do you have food in the freezer and cupboards? If you do then start a thread asking what meals you can make with these items - this will stop you spending your food money as you will be using up what you have.
Also try not to have cash on you, junk food is a lot harder to buy then - take out £10 cash and know how long it needs to last you - if you spend it too early then you have to go without. Can a partner / family member / friend hold your cash card for you?
Things are always hard when you feel low but try not to aim for too many goals at once and go for an easy goal first.0 -
Ok, its official I started my diet yesterday - it got to a point where my knees hurt constantly (arthritis) and I'm just fed up of being overweight. I lost 5 1/2 stone before my Mum died and then my Grandad died and after having to go out to work (13 years caring for mum) and do a college course I think it just all added - I know I eat when I am stressed and am really stressed at the moment but its got to help. I've put on the 5 1/2 stone and a bit more (gulp - big gulp when doctor said!!) I'm growing veg also so hopefully the gardening will work. I think I've got to stop trying to eat what my boys eat (they are 6ft 3 1/2 and can eat anything and not put on weight!!) so decided to use a smaller plate and go back on the GI diet (which is meant to make you feel fuller for longer!!) so fingers crossed :-)))2010 has got to be better than the last two years!! :rotfl:
Weight loss to date: 3 Stone & 5lbs!! Weight loss this week: 2 lbs !!:j0
