1 week to go until final WI.

Been reading up on thyroid related nutrition, (as I can no longer kid myself that my condition does not effect me!) found this about eating to boost our metabolism... mini meals! Would not be practical if you're feeding others all day but I may try it in January. I guess I could do the normal evening meal but eat half at around 5 and half at 8... (I'm full of plans, like cutting out simple carbs etc... let's see how long that lasts... :o)

LittleMoog - you're probably right about the 2-3 months thing. When you have monthly challenge it encourages the belief that you can have quick easy results with weight loss, which you can't, these eating habits are for life so we may as well get used to it and make a commitment for a longer length of time. Would still be shorter than the Chrsitmas Challenge as that was 15 weeks and has been dragging for me the last few weeks but that's probably more about the time of year and the fact that I am less than halfway to my target. (Sulks a little :o)

Ragz you're on with the fitness coach challenge, though I suspect you're younger and fitter than me, so I'm probably on a hiding to nothing. I'm going to get it out tomorrow and see what's what with it, then try a proper routine on Sunday. I have a proper high step, so I will try with that 1st.

    Morning all

ragz I'll definitely be in for the next challenge, already set my goal and if I don't reach this one I'll just have to work a bit harder! A bit disappointed I won't quite make it by next week but I tried, now I know I have to do more exercise (please lungs hold up!). Consolation is I no longer look 9 months pregnant, only about 4, and am starting to fit into 14's reasonably comfortably.

Re Christmas, I don't tend to over-eat, now I'm not having a normal dinner plate I can't manage so much. Chocolate/puddings/sweet stuff don't bother me, cheese is my big favourite and I know DD will have a good assortment! She also found me an alcohol free individual Christmas pud so I'll have to eat it as she went to so much trouble for me :).

    Back to today -

    B - F&F, ss milk
    L - mushroom omelette
D - rotini with diced lf sausage, sun dried tomatoes, ff yogurt
Snacks - melon, kiwi, satsumas, roasted chestnuts , banana
Exercise - 30 mins pulm, 10 mins step, 2 hours trying to get some meds into dog who has kennel cough. So far it's on the cream carpet, kitchen floor, me, his coat and the toilet cystern (don't ask). It started off as 'good game, good game' but 1/2 a bottle later has escalated to 'open your mouth you stupid dog, this is costing me a fortune'

    Enjoy your day :)
  • I am disappointed this week as I put on 3 1/2 lb after losing 1 1/2 the previous week. I have had treats as both my boys birthdays fell in those weeks so I ate cake I wouldn't normally even have around. Now I am finding it hard to get my brain back in gear. I think I will write my food on here again
    Today:
    Breakfast Muesli and banana
    S; 4 dates
Lunch: sausages and baked beans with wmeal bread 300 cals
    S: loads of choc brownies
    D: low fat ready meal
2 glasses of wine at my friends do

Also did a good walk at the beach today: must recognise my achievements. So far since June I have lost 2 stone 3 1/2 lb so just need to keep going even though I am struggling. Glad you guys are around!

Annie - you must keep going as you have lost far more than you have gained!!
Ragz - I would also be up for the New Year Challenge too :T:T:T Thankyou for updating the Scores on the Doors!

I have eaten too much chocolate and must get a grip. It is because of the "Wicked Witch" x

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I don't know if anyone else is interested, but I have found this site. http://www.hotnfit.com/weightlifting/beginnerdb.html#top
I am thinking of trying the dumbbell workout, as I really want to pick my fitness up a little bit. I already have a set of dumbbells [not massive ones, lol], and it seems like a good way of getting into weights as I am a beginner.

Thanks for that. I have 1.5kg ones I use for a little toning in fact I was actually using them yesterday. About to go for it now as you've mentioned it!

Off to pub with school mums tonight, will try to only have one drink, my favourite people can't make it so I won't be there long anyway and I'm not joining them for the meal so I won't be off until about 8.30pm

Got a low GI diet book in charity shop today, wanted info on that as my best friend has just been diagnosed with PCOS. Shall read it myself though as she isn't into books and if I give it to her it won't get read so I will just tell her what is says!

JBD I also have a 1.5kg weight, and a pair of 1kg wrist weights, we use them at pulm exercise class and I have to admit mine have been sitting in my 'exercise' drawer for ages, with a stand-on twisty thing and an elasticated contraption you put your feet in and pull with your hands. I think it's time I got them out, dusted them off and put them to use! I wonder how many people buy excerise equipment and never use it?

Annie please persevere, you've proved you can do it - with avengeance! I think (know) you've done amazingly well, you've certainly inspired me. And you had every right to eat a little cake, how could you not celebrate your sons birthdays? :)

    Morning all :)
Busy day yesterday, we had to go to Milton keynes shopping centre as DH hadn't done any Christmas or Birthday shopping for his family  total of 5 Christmas and 3 birthdays to do, got there for 9am, and done by 12 but I was knackered! DH took me out for lunch as a thank you though :D in the afternoon we put up our tree and did the Christmas cards, will post on monday, better late than never :o
    Saturday:

Lunch: steak, jacket potato, veg, pint of ale
Tea: 1/3 of a ciabatta, satsumas, yoghurt

Today I'll be in the kitchen all day making things for Christmas hampers for our parents: chilli jam, peanut brittle, truffles, brandy butter, mince pies etc.
    Breakfast: fruit corner
    Lunch: chicken sandwich, apple, satsumas
    Dinner: hm pizzas
    Little monkey born November 2012:j
    Froglet due March 2016 :D
  • Thanks Molly41 and Sparrer for your encouraging words! I think I have got myself back in the zone! I managed to go to my friend's party and just have 2 glasses of wine, no (more) naughty snacks and I had a great time chatting to everyone.

I put the remaining chocolate brownies in the freezer and they are a present for someone today.

    B: shredded wheat
    S banana
L lofat cheese sandwich and kitkat 4 crisps
