It is comforting to read that I am not the only one whose DH sabotages their efforts! My DH desperately needs to sort his eating habits as he is on Insulin for diabetes and his levels aren't coming down. He just won't listen though and eats c**p all the time, (always picking MY favourite stuff he knows I can't resist).
I'm going to start doing my weekly shop online i think - then he can't put any junk in the trolley! Hopefully my healthy home cooked meals will help him stop snacking and help us both to lose the weight.
On day 7 of my champix tabs and not eaten much cos i feel so sick!
B - 3 rich tea
L - chicken wrap
T - nothing, just drinking lots of water cos feeling rough! (also not smoked though!):D2009 - Attempting to grow my own Kitchen garden.....did it!!!

well done to megansmum on giving up smoking!:T:T:T
managed to lose half a pound last week:j
am off to work soon so having 2 meals there. Dinner is jacket spuds so thats good. Lunch is out I think so probably a salad or sandwich in Morrisons cafe as our service users love it there and the food is not bad at all.
Boiled egg for breakfast with toast and lots of fruit for snacks today.
have a good day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Well done taplady!!
I've discovered a great weight loss regime (though not to be repeated!!). Eat half a bag of wasabi peas and you'll spend the next morning visting the toilet multiple times
Today:
Breakfast - yogurt (delicate tummy didn't want cereal!)
Lunch - Soup, Crisp Breads and yogurt
Dinner - Not sure yet as I'm at a gig tonight so eating out. Followed by dancing!0 -
hi to all the newbies, so many posts in the last 2 days that I'm not going to try and mention you all -but a big welcome to you all.
I did well yesterday (as in no snacks) until my fella offered to take me to the pub for a drink and then I had a sugar attack, really really fancied chocolate which had he ignored me I would have copied with - but no he buys me 2 curly wurly's (only choc in pub) and I wolfed them down like a starving homeless person AKA greedy pig. I also managed to get an extra half curly wurly as one of the packs had clearly not gone through quality control (I loved that pack the most), I'm blaming TTOM and promise to try harder to resist.
Today:
B: muesli
S: stick of celery
L: HM salad with light philly
S: bananaspare ribs prob with more salad
my WI is tomorrow and I can only think I have gained, at my mid month check I had put on 2 lbs so if I stay that it will be the best I can expect.
Well done to the losers - I really need some of your will power!0 -
Must stop weighing myself daily, it makes me obsessed (I could be worse, I know my scales will weigh in .2 of a lb on another setting but I'd be on them all day!)
Have had 2 bowls of pointless soup (some butternut squash, some swede and a few carrots with stock from a cube) and an apple today. Was very restrained with kids leftover sandwiches and allowed myself one bite before binning them. Used to eat everything they left as i didn't want to waste it then realised it was a waste to eat them too if they'll just make me fat!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

You are all so lovely. Thank you especially to Taplady, ragz and megansmum for sharing you DH problems. Mine just phoned and said he was amazed at how much better he's feeling after such a short time. However I could have murdered DS last night, after spending two hours preparing a great meal of chicken, roast potatoes (large to cut down fat and to make the boys feel they weren't being totally deprived) carrots, swede and peas, he asks if he could have something NICE  like ice cream!!! He's now on his second day with me even making his breakfast and lunch to ensure he eats properly. I've made an appointment with the nurse to check his blood pressure next week, and maybe colesterol. At the asthma clinic the nurse told us his was far too high for his age 19. He doesn't eat with us as he doesn't like the food I cook ie vegetables, fish and jacket potatoes etc, but makes his own and shops for the food he likes but which I won't buy. Lets hope all the medical advise from the surgery and his mum and sister will have some effect. God it's hard. And no doubt MIL will bury us in chocolate at easter - groan . Needless to say all DH's family are large.
Menu for today;
Porridge & prunes (all family on porridge. DH no additives, DS one tsp golden syrup.) Glass of fruit juice - me and DS
Salad and slice of beef for me. Sandwiches for fellers. DS had ham with branston pickle and lettuce :T. Grapes, half banana with yogurt for pud for me.
Tea will be rissoles made from left over chicken with boiled potatoes, steamed veg pocket - brocolli, carrot and sweetcorn (no doubt that will be dissected to remove the poisonous bits :rotfl:that the dogs will enjoy.
snacks for us all include, cup-a-soups, oranges, snack packs of raisins, banana milkshake for DS from his daily allowance and extra slice of bread for DH to mop up his gravy. I feel like the food police - next I'll be fitting a lock to the kitchen door and frisking them for illicit food.

not great today...big lunch out but might redeem myself at dinner...
B:Porridge &SS milk
L: Wagamamas rice & Chicken dish and EdamamePasta &tomato sauce
Snacks: Fruit and mini toblerone....0 -

Had chicken in white sauce with rice for dinner. Looking at recommended portion sizes I prob had twice as much riceand the sauce was made with double cream
Snacks - 3 small slices jamaican ginger cake, 4 milky way bars, low fat choc mousse(my excuse is I'm breastfeeding!)
Seems like I can do half a day of healthy eating at a time...
Ordered fitness dvds the other day (on offer on Amazon) that arrived today, Ministry of Sound Pump it up (had one before and loved it, not tried this one yet) and a 10 minute belly fat one. tried the 10 minute one today and am really dissapointed, it's rubbish! First part went straight into the workout with no warm up and no instructions so I got really lost, then the second one was far too hard - press ups and hard sit ups
Think I'll stick to the MOS ones, hard work but really fun.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Well I realised I had NOT been good on Wed when I got out my lucnch yesterday and found 1/4 of mutton pie, I then remembered eating the 3/4 of the pie the day before along with chicken nuggets
(these were from the butchers hot counter and not a chain fast food - but still far more than I needed or even should have eaten)
yesterday I did a lot better than Wed - but it didn't affect the results of my WI today still 10 4lb same as mid month check but 2lbs ON from last month
With Easter coming up I can't imagine things will be any better as doing family stuff some days and hoping to catch up with friends on the other days.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and hope you all get some sunshine to enjoy.

Hi all, I'm still here just having a hectic week
Welcome to all the new folk and welcome back to Vixtress
I had a really good week until yesterday when it all went wrong because I went to a funeral where there were lots of friends I haven't seen for many years so the drinks flowed
Yesterday:
B: Nothing, hangover
L: Small lasagne and chips, didn't finish eitherVegetarian Singapore noodles & 2 small veg spring rolls
S: Not technically snacks but it was surplus to requirements 5 vodka, lime and sodas
Today:
B: Nothing, late for train
L: Not sure, probably a sandwich or Wagamama veggie ramenProbably vodka, lime and soda ha ha
(I don't eat when I'm drinking alcohol because it always makes me sick, even with 1 or 2 drinks)
S: Maybe a Starbucks small skinny cappuccino
Have a good weekend all0
