Right today is my definite new start day!!

I'm sure i have announced that twice before though! :D Had a really crap month though with various things! :(

Started well.....weighed myself this morning and since i was ill and lost 4lbs i havent put anymore weight on which is a relief as i have eaten like a horse!

So been up , done WI and done 15 minutes on the crosstrainer. Need to build myself up again to half hour. Just didn't want to push it too much this morning especially before going to work!!

I hope everyone has a great day!

    Hi Baby Mother and welcome,

On your point 5 - I combat this by deciding if I'm hungry enough to eat that piece of fruit in my bag - the answer is mostly NO and therefore I am not actually hungry I'm just being greedy! (PS: I can always eat a bag of crisps, bar of choc etc - no need to be hungry!)

When you decide to #treat# yourself to a large portion because of X, Y and/or Z - try doing it the other way around. Have you earned that larger portion? ie done the fitness dvd, done the housework, broken a sweat doing something? if the answer is no then say I'll have a normal portion today and earn a bigger one tomorrow.

Also swapping to a smaller plate the same size as the childrens would help as then your meal will look larger and that is a good visual aid.

Tappy - you earned that bar of choccy - and I guessing it was the small bar ;)

I'm with littlekel this week - definitely starting again this week!

    Today is:
    B: muesli
S: olive ciabatta roll (left over from sunday lunch)
L: cheese salad sandwich and hazelnut yogurt
    S: an apple
D: chicken & veg stir fry (may add small amount of noodles but will try not too)

Exercise remains at 2 dog walks a day but am determined to get to yoga this week.

Hope your well and raring to go now the sun is out.
  • Not looking forward to WI tomorrow night as since I got back from weekend away last week I haven't stopped eating. Gained 4lbs at last week's WI which was fine as i ate and drank a lot whilst away, but can't get out of that frame of mind now and haven't tried at all. Haven't exercised either as I have a cold...

Hope everyone's week is a good one :j

Managed a good few days, only one was suspect. But done at least 30 mins on the4 wii fit every day and got out for some nice walks so definite improvement on the exercise front. Even managed to go to a childrens birthday party and not pig out (although had a couple of chocolate fingers - would be churlish not to!).

Will have to be disciplined tomorrow and the next day as these are mine and OH's paydays and we have been skint for so long that the natural inclination is to "treat" ourselves. But i really want to see the exercise having an effect on the scales this week so must make any treat a little one, or non-food related.

Using up all sorts of fridge/freezer remnants today, which resulted in a bizarre lunch!

B: weetabix with milk and splenda (100)
    S: banana, apple (100)
L: quorn mince and peas cooked in bisto with a splash of worcestershire sauce, and 2 potato waffles (500)
D: Hm veggie shepherds pie and peas (400)
2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher

Hya folks, hope you all had a great weekend. Well done to those who lost, and (((hugs))) to those who didn't.

Was up in Scotland, leaving Thursday night and got bakc around 11.30 last night.

Missed my Friday WI, so remembered to hop on the scales this morning...and I have gained 2 pounds. I am actually really pleased with that, as I always eat masses when driving...and usually high sugar/fat content. Not sure why I always feel so hungry.

I was staying with my DMiL, who went to the chippy on Friday night..I had a superb white pudding supper (mmmmmm :D), and a bit of her fish too. Forgot that in Scotland you get two pieces of fish, so DMiL gave me one of hers, as well as most of the chips! She doesn't eat much herself these days, but loves feeding everyone else....and the choccie biccies at supper time were soooo scrummy!!

DMiL is an amazing woman, playing golf at least two or three times a week, as well as bridge and bowling in the summer. Fanatastic, considering she was 80 last year!! She still drives everywhere too, with only her hearing being an indication that she is "getting on a bit". Mind you, now she has got her hearing-aid in we don't have to shout anymore!

So back home and must get into eating less and healthier mode again, as well as doing more exercise. Onto the third load of washing now, with only one more to go...all DS2's rugby kit...at least most of it doesn't need ironing, and dries quickly! DS2 played yesterday, despite picking up a "dead-leg" during Saturday training. So he can now be classified as an International player, as they played Newcastle yesterday. They lost, but it was a good hard match. The Newcastle boys were 18 and 19 year-olds, whereas the Scotland team are made up of 16 and 17-year olds!! They played at one of the back pitches at Murrayfield, so I have pictures of the match with teh stadium in the background...fantastic!

Right, off to get lunch sorted...some tuna sandwiches methinks.

    Food for today:

B: Porridge made with sultanas and soya milk; OJ
L: Tuna sandwiches, using 0% fat yog, and fat-free dressing....lots of salald veg too
T: ? not raided the freezer yet

Snacks are going to probably be slices of fat-free HM fruit loaf.

    Have a great week everyone.

JoJoB - i love that lunch! Made me smile!

mlz1413 - good points about the fruit and being hungry enough. I totally agree. I think this is the frame of mind i need to be in

Today for lunch i have hm bread sandwich with gammon from the slow cooker on saturday. Though DF has put a large helping of meat into this sandwich!! mmmm the extra meat i could have made into a pasta dish.

Going to have a nice walk be from work today and maybe boxing on the wii fit this evening. Very determined this week!

Thanks mlz1413! I'll have to carry around a healthy snack in my bag methinks - stops me getting desperate and munching rubbish the minute I go home. I can always eat fruit though, I don't have to be hungry! ;)
Hopefully the daily (or thereabouts) updates will keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm allowing myself a couple of squares of chocolate every day or a biscuit/small slice of cake. Have to keep my sanity!
I think my problem is I try to do too much too soon, and 2lbs a week seems such a little amount to lose for so much effort!

  • Hi velocity.girl
Everyone here is very friendly and encouraging. Are you following a particular diet or just cutting down?

I really notice a difference with my weight loss on the weeks where i manage to swim twice so exercise is something to think about alongside the diet.
  • Hi Raspberry Swirl (awesome name by the way :) )

Well i gave up chocolate for lent and figured i'd lose some weight...it appears that i've put more on :( realised i've been substituting it with biscuits :(

SOOO i'm going to cut down, i suffer with IBS so i should really be careful with what i eat...as refined sugar and processed foods hurt my tummy for ages, i never seem to learn. I'm also clinically obese:eek::eek: how scary that was, i need to lose about 5 stone:o:o:( need to do the sensible slowly approach and could do with some tips for MSE weightloss ideas...i cook from scratch about 5 days a week and we do eat a lot of veg...but i'm too much of a snacker.
Hoping to of finally learned my lesson...slowly but surely
