  • Hi Raspberry Swirl (awesome name by the way :) )

Well i gave up chocolate for lent and figured i'd lose some weight...it appears that i've put more on :( realised i've been substituting it with biscuits :(

SOOO i'm going to cut down, i suffer with IBS so i should really be careful with what i eat...as refined sugar and processed foods hurt my tummy for ages, i never seem to learn. I'm also clinically obese:eek::eek: how scary that was, i need to lose about 5 stone:o:o:( need to do the sensible slowly approach and could do with some tips for MSE weightloss ideas...i cook from scratch about 5 days a week and we do eat a lot of veg...but i'm too much of a snacker.

When I started last September I wanted to lose 6 stone and am half way there now so keep at it, it can be done!! I think I'm having a 7 month itch though as haven't been very good for the past couple of weeks, but it's not worth beating yourself up about a bad week, just start the next week a-fresh and move on!

I find that meal planning really helps me as I come in from work and know what I'm going to cook. There's none of the 30 minutes umming and ahhing and trying to talk myself out of/into getting a takeaway!! This saves me money and helps me stick to the diet.

Try and stock up on snacks that won't break your diet, but allow you to still snack so you don't feel deprived. Currently I'm really into wasabi peas. You can't eat many at a time without the inside of your nose catching fire but I feel like I've had a crisp-type snack and they're low in fat (I'm on WW and they're low in points for my diet). Other snacks I eat are cereal bars, WW crisps (from poundland!) and low fat yogurts.

I also make a large batch of bran muffins from the economy gastronomy cookbook and stash them in the freezer for snacks at work. Bag them in two's and they last me ages as the recipe makes about 24 muffins!
  • Weigh-in tonight and I don't think it'll be a good one :D Whoops!

Hi all! been working all weekend so no time to post!

welcome to velocity girl and baby mother!

well done to the STSs or losers!:T

    raspberry - good luck tonight!;)

I think the advice about if you're not hungry enough for fruit then you're not hungry is good:T I try and carry a healthy snack with me when I'm out.
Thinks I've done ok this week - ate quite a bit but very active so hoping it balances out. weigh in tomorrow for me.

B - boiled egg and toast

L - jacket spud with cheese and salad and lit salad cream

D - salmon fillet with roasted veggies.

I'm also planning on having a piece of my HM flapjack with added nuts and seeds for a snack today along with lots of fruit.

have a great day all x
    Do what you love :happyhear

I did well yesterday apart from the satay sauce I decided to make for my stir fry - used far too much peanut butter, but it was yummy and I stayed full all night.

    today:
    B: muesli
S: hot choc drink (forgot my apple - but its at home for tomorrow)
L: Egg mayo & cress sandwich
S: crisps (couldn't bring myself to pay 40p for a replacement apple!)
D: liver & bacon already in the slow cooker, small dollop of mash pots & lots of peas.

    Hi velocity girl
Good luck Raspberry - and good tip about freezing muffins.
    Good luck Tappy

hi all I'd love to join you. I was doing WW for a short while this time last year, lost half a stone then got pregnant! I weighed 11 and a half then, I'm now 13 and a half stone (was 16 stone while pregnant!!), I'm 5'10" so don't look awful but I hate being a size 16 and want to get down to a 12, around 11 stone. I'm not going back to WW just yet as I want to see how well I do on my own (cheaper!) but I am sort of following the points plan (but not sure about the 10 extra for breastfeeding, sounds too many) and reading the mag.
(Most of my pregnancy I ate well but a LOT and then snacked on a LOT of ben and jerry's etc in the evening...)

Today I've eaten dried apricots and a bowl of special flakes with skimmed milk (instead of toast and biscuits). Am currently cooking pointless soup and plan on having spag bol with lots of veg in for dinner. Must remember to have a small serving of pasta not a mountain!

    Not done too bad today

    Cheerios for breakfast with OJ

Left over gammon with HM bread for lunch - bread buttered sparingly!

    snack - banana

    Fajitas for dinner

Also have walked 2 miles today and only had 2 cups of tea so far which is good for me :D Taking a coffee to college in a flask though which isn't so good as i have a sugar in my coffee.

    Welcome :D

I follow WW and attend meetings because it's the only way I stay motivated; knowing I'm losing money if I don't stick to it!!

There's a lady at my meeting that's breastfeeding and it's definately 10 extra points a day. She's lost nearly 2 stone in 4 months so it's working for her!

I was sceptical at first, but they don't dry out when defrosted so it works!

    Hi,

Can I join you please? I'm usually only on the greenfingered board and found this thread by accident! :o

    I don't go to any clubs - i can't justify the cost. :(

I am 15st 1lb and lost 5 lbs a few months back by trying to stick to sw (got all the books from 3 yrs ago). :)

I want to get back into it now because i'm taking champix tablets to stop smoking and i don't want to pile weight back on!:(

I love that you put on what you eat, it will help me to make the right choices too!
