oops, that should have read pasta twists! :rotfl:
Ok failed miserably this morning regarding my personal challenge to step away from the scales. I must try harder.
I woke up early as I had the most awful, thumping headache as I did not drink enough water yesterday. It reminded me how important it is to keep well hydrated in this hot weather.
Hope you all have a good day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all. Well I must have sweated off at least half a stone yesterday! I was in my sauna of a kitchen from 9.30 till 6.00 non-stop peeling, chopping, mashing, slicing, rolling for all the savoury bakes etc I was making for the Christening - I was like a wet rag when I knocked off. Another bonus was I couldn't spare the time to take a break and make something to eat! I just threw a hurried sandwich together! I am still at it this morning - currently a big pan of bolognese simmering away to make a massive cheesy bolognese bake. Next a potato bake to put in the oven but all the prep was done yesterday so just to throw together. Then at 10.30 everything to transport to the venue with, hopefully, me showered and looking elegant in my new size 12 outfit!!
Anyway, yesterday's eats - hardly worth listing, I have never eaten as little! :
B - Porridge with raspberries
L - A W's Thin with a bit of salad & ham, bag of cheese curls to go with it.
D - Ravioli.
S - no time to eat any snacks! (Maybe I should go into the catering business full time LOL!!)
Have a good day all and I hope we have a lovely Christening Day, making all my efforts worthwhile!! Of course I shall be forced to sample everything I have made!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Please may I join. My eating is out of control and my weight (15 stone 3lbs) is effecting my healthy. I'm going to go down the Paul McKenna route concerning portion sizes eg. stopping when I feel full, and eventually adjusting whats on my plate accordingly. I would like to loose at least 10lb by Christmas.

Please can I join in..?
The weight has been creeping on since I had my DS (Nearly 6yrs ago) and Im now at the point where its uncomfortable and I feel I really need to do something now as my clothes are getting tighter and every night my feet/legs hurt from carrying round my bulk everyday!
I have just given up smoking (4weeks this fri):j so if I can do that I'm sure I can lose this weight!
My Target is to lose 14ibs by Christmas.
Will be weighing myself and starting the diet Tuesday....This will give me time to do my menu plans, exercise plan and dust the cobwebs off the wii fit board.... I need to be organised else I won't get anywhere.October grocery Challenge

Hey ladies and any gents may I join you? Not sure what realistically I can lose between now and Christmas BUT even if it's half a stone that's better than nothing.
I have been saying for longer than I care to admit that I was going to train myself in the art of mindful eating a la Paul McKenna, Beyond Chocolate, Geneen Roth. The year is running away fast and I have made precisely no progress. So am planning on using this thread to document my thoughts, successes etc.
So this morning I had for breakfast peanut butter on bread. I made myself two and normally would scoff them both. But this morning I ate one, paused and decided I was satisfied. Now if I can repeat that every time I eat I will be well on my way.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all and welcome rachel021967, Mummy2Jack and Bitsy Beans
Mollie you did make me smile, I was wondering how long you could keep away from the scales as I used to be like that, they were almost attached to my feet! You gave it a good shot though. I stopped weighing daily cos it was too depressing, mind you I wasn't careful about portion sizes etc at that time.
TA the menu sounds gorgeous, the weather is beautiful and you're wearing a size 12 - definitely deserves a round of applause :T:T:T
B - Slice wm toast with spread and marmalade
L - don't know as am out but looked at the menu on line and can't say I'm keen to pay those prices. Maybe just have a starter, that's about £8
D Looking forward to some chicken soup make from the carcass etc, possibly a green salad afterwards. Will see how hungry I am but the soup is quite filling.
Snacks - nectarine, melon etc, must get my 5-a-day in
Have a super day everyone0 -
Morning, all, and welcome to the new posters - it's nice to see this thread so busy.
Yesterday for me was:
Brunch - two slices HM brown bread with butter and peanut butter; small pack of mixed dried fruit
Snack - small handful of honey-roasted cashew nuts
Dinner - a BBQ as the weather was nice - steak, veggies (including HG tomatoes :j) in pesto sauce, garlic bread, followed by nectarines cooked with a weeny splash of HM damson gin; plus, unfortunately, rather a lot of wine while I struggled to get the flippin' BBQ to light
Today is:
Breakfast - none as I wasn't really hungry
Lunch - some sort of sandwich (possibly a bit of the posh soft cheese I picked up RTC yesterday, with more HG tomatoes); apple
Dinner - pasta with courgette and pesto sauce; whatever wine is left in the bottle from last night
Exercise - I really must do some weeding in the garden to prevent the dandelions taking over entirely.
Have a lovely day, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Afternoon All,
It's another glorious day here and it's my Sunday to have DGD whilst Mummy and Daddy work. We went out for a walk and collected conkers this morning and then spent nearly an hour playing with them. She's having her afternoon nap now and I'm having a sit down with a coffee before I prep the Sunday meal for when DS and DIL finish work at 5.
B: Muesli with extra sultanas.
L: Cheese and tomatoes on toast. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.Chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce with new potatoes, roast butternut squash, peas, carrots and green beans. Apple and raspberry crumble and custard with some apples I found growing by the lake DH and I walked round yesterday.
Exercise: After not doing much yesterday I fished out a different Jillian Michaels DVD this morning and managed 4 of the 7 circuits, which took me half an hour and left me dripping with sweat. It was the Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism one. I also walked about 3/4 mile with DGD and ended up carrying her for the last third as she ran out of energy (she's only 19 months). I can't believe I was carrying that much weight (and more) around permanently this time last year as I was exhausted carrying her. I think she probably weighs around 2 stone and I've lost 3 1/2 stone so far since January!!
Welcome to all the new faces.

ETA: Had another walk (this time with the pushchair) up to the park with DGD so another 3/4mile but counteracted that with sharing an icecream with her!Weight Loss Challenge 5/7/19 10st 6lbs
