I've stayed the same this week, I'm such a failure :(:(:(

Look I've only just joined so feel free to tell me to sod off BUT calling yourself a failure isn't going to motivate yourself, just makes you miserable and you know that only leads to the road paved with chocolate. So you stayed the same, could you have lost inches instead? Scales are an inaccurate measure, they don't just weigh fat they weigh fluid, food you've eaten, glycogen. So you haven't lost but not gained either. All is not lost, be kinder to yourself you really do deserve it. I mean if I was saying the same thing would you sit and call me a failure? I doubt it xxx

    Seconded! :T

Have you had any major falls off the wagon this week that would explain why your weight hasn't gone down? If so, forgive yourself and climb back on the wagon (you must have seen the number of times I've had to do that, so I know of what I speak! ;)). If not - as Bitsy says, the weight on the scales is not the only thing that matters - I personally tend to put on a couple of pounds around my TOTM - it doesn't mean there's anything drastically wrong, it's just one of those things.

In any case, you are NOT a failure just because the scales don't say what you want them to say - what do scales know about anything anyway? ;)

OK, lecture over - sorry! :o

Oh, and pollys - welcome to the thread!
Back after a very long break!

Slowly Fading - most certainly you are not a failure. I mean you could have put a few pounds on so try to put it behind you and keep going and you WILL see results. I said it previously - it's the journey or the process that is the important thing not the destination x

Lovely to see so many new people posting - rachel021967, Mummy2Jack, Bitsy Beans and PollyS - good luck with your respective journeys:T:T:T

Sparrer - Please tell me how you broke the weighing habit? I just felt compelled to do it IYKWIM? I think is is because the witch is hovering and Im worried I will gain weight after losing?

Anyway I have eaten more protein than usual and it certainly quelled my cravings for sweet foods. Im usually more carbs orientated so Im quite surprised that Im not devouring a loaf of bread on a regular basis. I think it is because Im still eating them but in lower quantities.
My exercise has consisted of some very gentle gardening - planting bulbs in the shade. I had to give up though as the front is so hot that the ground was parched. I decided to wait for the rain to come (sounds like I live in Africa) before planting anymore.

Hope you have all had a good day - onwards and downwards, so to speak x

I've just come back from lunch to add what I ate (pigged!) and read your post. Where is that slap on the wrist smilie when you need it? Lady you are not a failure, a hundred weeks of sts is worth one of a 1lb gain. If I had a gloomy face for every week I sts I'd be tripping over my chin when I walked . Look at your username, where does it say fadingfast? It's better to go slowly but surely, the weight is more likely to stay off, than try to run and see it come back on. (((Hugs)))to you, never give up.

Now I'm going back to complete my last post and you'll see why I'm going to sts or more likely gain this week x

Morning all and welcome rachel021967, Mummy2Jack and Bitsy Beans :)

Mollie you did make me smile, I was wondering how long you could keep away from the scales as I used to be like that, they were almost attached to my feet! You gave it a good shot though. I stopped weighing daily cos it was too depressing, mind you I wasn't careful about portion sizes etc at that time.

TA the menu sounds gorgeous, the weather is beautiful and you're wearing a size 12 - definitely deserves a round of applause :T:T:T

B - Slice wm toast with spread and marmalade
L - Salmon and prawn salad, asked for no dressing but the prawns were swimming (literally!) in Marie Rose sauce. Only ate half. Sadly it came with a half-baguette with real butter, couldn't resist half of that :(. Chose banana split for pud as it looked the least offensive. Asked for no sauce on it so got an extra boule of chocolate ice cream which was to die for! So, sadly, the pudding fairies made me eat it all :o
D - Far too full, giving it a miss this evening
    Snacks - nectarine, melon etc

Hi pollys, :wave:welcome to the thread (which I seem to be hi-jacking atm!)

Molly I think I just gave up, I know I put the scales in a far more inaccessible place and really just didn't feel like hiking them out all the time. Also where they're stored now they stand on end (upright, iyswim) which is supposed not to be good for them, so I have to put them flat on the floor and leave them for at least 15 minutes so they can regulate thermselves properly. Quite frankly I can't be a***d to do that every day! Hope you manage to get over the habit soon :)
  • Wow, so great to see more newbies.

Slowlyfading, there is a saying something like 'don't beat yourself up, there are plenty of others who will do it for you'...but not on this thread as proved. :)

    Back tomorrow for weigh-in :).
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.

So day one of back to mindful eating. I've not drunk enough considering the heat but I did definitely spent most of today on my feet doing one thing then another. Even spent 5 mins on the mini trampoline but oh dear my poor pelvic floor. Came close to what we will politely term a tena lady moment :eek: took kids to park and had a leisurely walk and then got all hot and sweaty wrestling with my tent which needs repairing.

    So I've eaten today

B 1 slice of granary bread, butter and peanut butter
S small packet of mini cheddars
L cheese sandwich and packet of crisps
D baked spud, tuna and spring onions with some salad cream

Wow doesn't look too great when you write it down :o there is a complete absence of fruit because well I don't really like it :o look like a bit of junk in there BUT I savoured it, ate til I was satisfied so that's what I am aiming for.
I do think I need to try and incorporate some more protein at lunchtime other than cheese or meat. Don't always find lentils that palatable but I have some green ones I could perhaps chuck in a rice salad or something........just need a recipe :o
