Molly I think I just gave up, I know I put the scales in a far more inaccessible place and really just didn't feel like hiking them out all the time. Also where they're stored now they stand on end (upright, iyswim) which is supposed not to be good for them, so I have to put them flat on the floor and leave them for at least 15 minutes so they can regulate thermselves properly. Quite frankly I can't be a***d to do that every day! Hope you manage to get over the habit soon
Many thanks Sparrer. I have tried the putting the scales in an inaccessible place = like the loft. However i just send my youngest son up there, who I believe was a monkey in a past life and is double jointed so can get into all sort of tight places:eek::eek::eek:
But I will keep trying as it does me no good in the long run !I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Morning all and welcome to so many newbies! Oh slowlyfading don't despair, the weight will start moving soon I am sure and staying the same this week means you didn't gain so that in itself is something!
The Christening went well (about 100 guests at the party afterwards) and I had favourable comments about all my dishes, so it made all the effort of the last few days worthwhile. Plus, I was so sick of cooking, baking and looking at food, when it came to the buffet I didn't eat much at all!!! I can't believe it! I wish I could say the same about the drinks - copious amounts of Malibu & Coke was just what I needed to help me unwind!
Anyway we are off to the caravan this morning for a few days - no childminding to be done till Friday and all the cooking over and done with. so we are off to relax for a change! Feet up with a good book or a nice long walk in the countryside will suit me just fine! See you all later in the week."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Weigh-in today: a loss of 1lb, my first smilie
when you next update please ragz!
Thank goodness for that!
I forgot to exercise before posting the last two times (frid and sun). Something happens to my brain around weekends. All my personal goals drift out the window, as I run around the family making sure they are happy. Will work on that.
Know what you mean about :j trampolining Bitsy Beans, tried that once, and it was never repeated!
Have a good day everyoneHealthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.

Yup, think we've all been there, or nearly!
Good morning world. Another lovely day and I'm knackered having just cleaned the house top to bottom, except the lounge where I'm [STRIKE]flopped on the sofa wheezing away [/STRIKE] reclining like a lady til the kitchen floor dries. Got these Americans coming for dinner so have to keep the side up, let them see we're not heathens this side of the pond.
B - Handful of grapes
L - Beefy soup from the gravy left over from dinner menu. Smells deeeelishus!
D - Cubed steak with mushrooms and onions, creamed potato & swede/carrot mash. Green salad. Black olive & tomato breads. Sparrers Snafu (my version of Eton Mess) for pud
Exercise - cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning!
Happy Monday0 -
Afternoon everyone, I've not been on for day or two and blimey it's gone mental here! In a nice way though (nice to see everyone giving so much support and encouragement, that's what the thread's for!)
Rachel, Mummy2jack, Bitsy Beans and Pollys welcome to the thread! Nice to see new faces, especially friendly and supportive ones.
Scales - ahhh, I nearly managed not to weigh myself this morning... BBQ yesterday and TOTM due any day so I KNEW it would be bad... 1.8lb heavier than yesterday  so you see, Slowlyfading, scales can be very misleading (one bonus of weighing daily is I get to see just how wildly my weight fluctuates) and you can't take one weigh in as much indicator of progress, only a series of weigh ins and measuring yourself will show your true progress.
Sometimes the scales are really not your friend... Remember you have to overeat by 3500cal to gain a pound (and I KNOW I didn't eat THAT many sausages yesterday...)
Christmas Challenge
Lovetopaint well done on the pound loss.
Off to update the list with that and the newbies... hope I don't miss anyone out, let me know if I do.

Slowly Fading....you are not a failure, repeat after me "I am not a failure" Staying the same is always better than putting weight on and everyone has plateaus (?sp)
Had a great weeknd although the weather was not so good here as in the south, Saturday we walked around a little hill called Great Howe by the end of Thirlmere, its only about two miles but Harry ran so hard that he was tired at the end (he is only 15 weeks old, I keep forgetting). The good work was pretty much undone by a slice of cake with coffee in the cafe after. Spent the afternoon in the garden, one border is nearly ready for winter, just needs a dressing of HM compost. Then swept all the paths, the patio and drive, sweating cobs after that as very humid and it's hard work.
Sunday we walked in the forest in the rain then I worked all afternoon in the greenhouse planting bulbs in pots for the spring and getting other things ready for winter. Lots more to do yet.
Cooked a big piece of gammon yesterday so it did for dinner and sandwiches today and will do a couple of more meals, I will slice it up and freeze some, maybe we'll have ham and eggs tonight."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0 -
Afternoon All,
Another glorious day here so have been trying to make the most of it.
B: Muesli
L: Pancake stuffed with mushrooms, spinach, onions and garlic and topped with cheese. Apple.
S: Kiwi fruit.Pork chop, new potatoes, carrots, green beans and roasted butternut squash. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.
Work tonight so I can't nibble after the evening meal which is good. It's getting dark by 7 now so will probably be the last time I can walk as DH gets all worried about me walking in the dark.
Exercise: 6 mile walk with friend this morning enjoying the sunshine. Another couple of miles with trips to the PO and (hopefully) to work. 30 lengths of the 25m swimming pool - 40 minutes of non-stop swimming as I'm quite a slow swimmer.

Evening all.
I'm rather late with my plan for today as I've been ridiculously busy at work.
B - small bowl of muesli with SS milk
S - banana
L - naughty CCP- I treated myself to a Mexican chicken roll from the local shop (a treat in itself as the chicken's covered with grated cheese, chillis and mayo
), plus a packet of s&v crisps, plus a bottle of orange and mango juice, followed by two thirds of an apple (the other third being a nasty great bruise that I didn't notice until I bit into it _pale_)
D - spicy noodles with crab and veg
Exercise - 20 minutes' walk at lunchtime - not really enough but I didn't want to leave my email inbox unattended for any longer in case it got any more bright ideas about filling itself up again while I wasn't looking)
Back after a very long break!0 -
Mindful eating been OK today.
B boiled eggs and one slice of granary bread
S piece of bread and butter
L 1 piece of bread and peanut butter. 2 strips of almond chocolate
D Potato hot pot with onions, carrots, garlic, bacon and sausage. didn't clear my plate and I feel nicely satisfied.
I can hear the almond choc calling me though like a Siren :eek: PMK tapping here I come.
I might go out on the mini trampoline and have a bounce. Assuming the bladder can take it:rotfl:

Hello again everyone, lovely to see some new faces.
Last Thursday I lost 1/2lb which was a bit disappointing but probably related to large amount of snacking the previous weekend. Think my eating is going quite well but 4 cocktails this weekend probably added up, nice though!
Am doing well with my steps and usually over 10,000 as I am really making an effort to walk and today even got my bike out to be a bit quicker. I love cycling so really must do more of it.
B: muesli, banana
L: cheese sandwich and nectarine
d: spag bol and mini magnum
Looking at that I could do with some more fruit and veg!0
