Hello and thank you for the welcome!
Today hasn't gone as planned, I was cold and miserable and resorted to sugar, which has now resulted in a headache, but a reminder that rubbish food makes me feel like rubbish so it's healthy all the way for the rest of the week for me.
Sugary rubbish aside, I has weetabix and a banana for breakfast, a bowl of vegetable soup and ryvitas for lunch, a yogurt and an apple for pud and am making chickpea and vegetable bites for dinner. I try to eat as much vegan food as I can, as it makes me feel better, and I like it!

  • Morning all - gosh I don't sign in for 2 days and look what I have been missing! Loads of posts to catch up on and a whole host of lose a stone by Xmas members! Good luck to you all, I know I feel (and look) so much better for the 1 st 4 lbs I have lost but at Saturday's weigh in I still had 4 lbs to target and then I suddenly went haywire - I spent the weekend eating all the things I had been depriving myself of - the mincemeat tart & custard led on to bacon sandwiches, a pack of stem ginger cookies and a bag of midget gems - but ooh I did enjoy them!!

Jumped back on the wagon yesterday morning (as usual full of remorse!) and despite having the DGDs to run round after all day, managed to stick to plan and ended the day at just under 1,000 cals:

    B - Porridge with raspberries
L - "Pretend" pizza with pile of salad. Sliced mini banana, strawberries & FF vanilla yogurt.
D - Quorn "chicken" style nuggets, pile of LF cauli cheese & salad. SF jelly, mixed berries & WW fromage frais.
S - Nectarine, few grapes, satsuma & small bag of real fruit hearts.

Hope I can stick to it the rest of the week and maybe see a small loss (says she hopefully!) on Saturday. Bye all, be strong and good luck with the challenge!

    Morning all :)
Weighed in this morning, and I've lost 2lb! :j good start to the challenge :)
Yesterday's dinner changed from plan (roast pork) as when I opened the joint it was definitely off :( We ended up having grilled sausages and homemade potato wedges with beans.

    Today's meals:
Breakfast: glass of SS milk, fruit corner yoghurt
Lunch: pastrami sandwich on wm granary bread, pear, apple, peach
Dinner: chicken teriyaki a la Nigella (but with less oil), rice, peas

    Exercise: swimming (45 mins/30 lengths)

Spent ages talking to DH last night about how we can exercise more and cut back on diet. (he could also do with losing 3-4 st) We both agreed that on good days our diet is fine, but there are too many bad days :o What I want to do now is introduce more exercise. I'm going to join the local gym next payday (which will mean I can swim and do as many exercise classes as I want without having to worry about the cash), and DH is going to think about what he can do - at the moment he's reluctant to join anything :( Any hints/tips on how to get him moving?

Morning all, and very well done to everyone losing so far this week. :T

My aim for today (apart from doing some work, obviously ;)) is to find some sort of exercise I can do inside, as my usual walking is going to become even less appealing over the next few months than it has been during our miserable summer. :( I do sympathise with your DH, LittleMoog - I don't much enjoy exercising in company either, so I'm looking for something I can do in my flat, with minimal jumping around as I don't want the people in the basement flat to think there's a herd of elephants living upstairs. :o

    Today goes:

B - small bowl of muesli with SS milk
L - oatmeal roll with a small quantity of herb brie; chopped tomato (HG! :j); a very small handful of salt and pepper cashews (not half a pack like I had yesterday :o:o)
    S - banana and / or pear
D - breaded plaice, cabbage and potatoes of some sort; stewed rhubarb with LF fruit yoghurt (which I didn't have last night as I had extra bread with my dinner instead :naughty:)

I'm determined to stick to my plan and to eating small quantities for the next few days - my enthusiasm for weight loss is rapidly waning and I really need to get it back if I'm ever going to reach my target - any tips, anyone? :undecided
Back after a very long break!

Can I join please I lost 3 stone in 3 months earlier this year (more before that but didn't weigh myself at first until I went into a 26, started in a 32) then since May life has been pretty awful, had a decent summer away to get my head together and now want to restart. I've put almost a stone back on since May which is annoying. Was definitely easier to put it on than loose it.

I don't have time to post every day or read every day but appreciate the support

I'm trying 2 iPhone free apps mynetdiary and myfitnesspal see if I like them (you can use both online too) but trying to be more OS have to weigh and type rather than scan food in. I keep considering slimming world but I just need the books as I can't get to meetings. We have a crosstrainer and I've put that in the kids toy/games room (they share a small bedroom) so once we're finished renovating downstairs including new wood floor I will start using that

Last night I did a chicken and veg stir fry which was lovely and works out about 350 calories for how much I had, going to do plenty of those. Need to decide what to do for dinner so I'll read some of your posts for inspiration. I must start meal planning again.

Christmas challenge - 20lb would be great please :) I'm hoping I can achieve that
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Hi every one, well WI day today and I've lost 3lbs, yes that right 3 whole pounds, please note that for the Christmas Challenge Ragz as I think that it one of my best weekly losses ever. all that running around....

    Blondy24.. congratulations, wonderful news.

Had a spag bol last night with plenty of added veg, including peppers form the greenhouse, great becuase last year they almost all rotted in the cold and the damp, this year has been much better.

lil_me there are menu planning threads, I think, on the OS boards, I've been planning for the last month or so and it has made a real difference to our meals. I started out by trying to use up all the food in the freezer, this gave me a good starting point. Each week I plan our evening meals, list any ingredients I need and then do all my shopping on line. So far it is working well. I have a list of my favorite recpies as well so that if I get stuck I can look at them for inspiration.
