Hmm not sure on my food today! Dr Dragon has a day off work :j:j:j and we have bits and bobs to do, he let me try and drowse a bit today so I got up late, had a bath (bliss! I normally only manage it at the weekend when he is around, splash and spritz rest of the week!)

    b- slept late so none!
    l - 2 slices of Hovis seed bread, 30 g gammon
d - pub meal, probably steak and ale pie with new pots and veg + a couple of ciders or wine :o

drinks - tea, the aforementioned *hic*

exercise - walking round the supermarket and going to the bank
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

  • Hello everyone, I would like to join this thread if possible. I am currently 10st 13lb and would like to lose at least 1 stone. Any tips or meal plans would be appreciated.

    Thanks x
  • Afternoon All,

It's absolutely beautiful here this afternoon. It seems a shame to be inside but I've been sat on the sofa knitting.

    B: Poached egg on toast.
L: Apple crumble and custard. I really felt like having some apple crumble at lunchtime so decided to forego a first course and really enjoy a proper bowlful.
D: HM vegetable bake which includes sliced left over new potatoes, garlic, onion, mushrooms and spinach topped with creme fraiche and grated cheese. Kiwi fruit.

Exercise: 20 minutes exercise DVD. 40 lengths at the pool. I went to the pool again today and for 20 minutes of the 50 minutes I was in I had it totally to myself - bliss! I've had various short walks here and there too so by the time I've walked to work this evening I shall have done just over 2 miles.

Stewed some rhubarb today, think it's a bit sweet though :/ It's not for me anyways though I did try a spoonful just to make sure it's edible.

A bowl of porridge for breakfast and fish fingers, beans and crispy potatoes for lunch. Going to stay at my OH's for the next week or so and he's got nothing in until we do the Asda shop online tonight. Hoping to make more soups and stews though :)

    Welcome newbies :)

Bad food day, no breakfast or lunch as no time but had a blueberry muffin with my lovely neighbour whose birthday it is today

Just had a little bit of F&F, maybe a banana before bed

Hopefully will be able to face food tomorrow

    Night night
  • Morning all and welcome blondy. Weigh day today - 9st 4 lbs - so STS! I suppose for a week of some days good, some days bad that's all I can expect really! This week must try harder (yet again!!) These last few pounds are proving VERY difficult to shift as I really am trying to keep within my calorie limit. Todays menu and really will try and stick to it:
B - Poached egg on a toasted Thin with some thin sliced ham and stewed cherry tomatoes.
L - HM Tomato & basil soup & tuna salad sarnie (Nimble bread). Strawberries & FF vanilla yogurt.
D - Ravioli & salad. Meringue nest, mixed berries & WW fromage frais.
    S - Satsumas and grapes.

Have a good weekend all, despite the poor forecast!

    Afternoon all.

Back to normality for me today after yesterday's bad eating day - the colleague I was working with is also on a diet (which quite puts me to shame - she's lost best part of 15 stone  :T) and decided to join me on abandoning the healthy eating plan for one day - I confess we rather enjoyed munching our way through numerous stuffed jalapenos, breaded prawns, mini strawberry scones and the like. :D:o

    Today goes:

Brunch - two slices LO pizza (I decided to make one rather than buying one in the end - much more OS ;)); handful of grapes; apple
Snack - WM pitta with peanut butter and banana; pack of dried fruit
Dinner - chard and ricotta lasagne (not fantastically healthy, thanks to the ricotta, but very tasty); glass (or two ;)) of wine

Exercise - I managed to dodge the rain long enough to walk up to the shops, then back again with my bags of shopping.

Have a good day, all, and welcome to blondy. :hello:
Back after a very long break!

I didn't get my exercise DVD done today as I was about to get up when I got a phone call from DS asking me to do an emergency dash to the pharmacy and work to take him some strong painkillers as his back had gone into spasms and he was in agony. It looks like he won't last the day out at work so I may end up working for a few hours this evening too.

B: Fat free vanilla yoghurt with oat bran and stewed apple
L: Prawn salad wrap followed by toffee icecream and HM toffee sauce.
D: Egg and chips. Kiwi fruit.

Exercise: Walking to work and back several times on my mercy missions should have added up to 3 and 3/4 miles by the time I finish tonight. If it's not dark coming home and I don't need a lift I can add another 3/4 mile to that as well.

  • Morning all. Yesterday was a day of playing catch up after all the caravanning/childminding of late. Dashing from one job to another was good exercise I'm sure! My last job was making a couple of mincemeat tarts - supposedly to put in the freezer. Well one went in the freezer but no prizes for guessing where the other went! Yes, we enjoyed it after tea with custard! So much for getting back on the straight and narrow! Other than that I stuck to plan!!!!

    I will try harder today:
    B - Porridge & raspberries
L - LF Cauli cheese scattered with lean crispy bacon. Strawberries & FF vanilla yogurt.
D - Toasted thin topped with TTD cherry toms and grilled with a topping of WW cheese. Salad. SF jelly, sliced mini banana & LF choc mousse.
    S - Grapes & satsumas.

Very happy this morning as I weighed in at UNDER 170lbs, which I had been hovering over for months. 179.6lb today (love my scales) which is 12 stone 1.6lb so not far off next milestone of under 12 stone. I can't rave enough about MyFitnessPal, they have a free website as well as a free app and the calorie tracking is so easy it's the first time I've ever kept it up this long (10 days+). Definitely recommend that one.
Also very happy because dh took me to a proper bra shop in Battle yesterday and I bought myself bras that fit! (Bought a cheap £5 one in Matalan on Friday but it's too small, made my hormonal boobs sore :() I bought a cream bra and a black bra with matching pants at a total of £63  which is a lot for me to spend on myself but I'm pleased to have decent quality bras for a change and hopefully they'll last a while.

CCP Glad you enjoyed the day off, we all need one every now and then, stuffed jalapenos can probably count as one of your 5 a day anyway!

TA those last pounds are the stickiest, can you up your exercise somehow? (Swimming has been great for me as I can keep it up for a whole hour but it burns tons of calories if you do lengths).

Ooooh also had to share that I bought a pair of size 12 jeans in Matalan (£5 in the sale, bright blue flares, very retro!) and they fit :T a little snug but I can sit down in them and I don't have the over-risen loaf effect like I did last time I tried some on (slight bulge though :o).

EDIT - Weight Loss Old Style Christmas Challenge I mentioned before that I want to lose a stone by Christmas, wondered if anyone fancied making that a 'Challenge' and joining in? Set a target weight for Christmas and see how it goes... it's just over 3 months away (arrgghh, did I just say that?!) so a reasonable amount (a lb a week would be a stone by Christmas) should be achievable by then (perhaps final weigh in should be a few days before Christmas, I know my excesses tend to start a little before, but perhaps the challenge will delay the cheese and chocolate binges a little!).
I am going to aim to be 11 stone by the 23rd (just under 15 weeks away). Which means I need to lose around 16lbs in that time, so just over a lb a week. Sounds do-able. Who's with me?
