  • Morning all. Not been on here all week as just had 7 consecutive days of minding the 3 manic DGDs (including 3 days at the caravan - and believe me almost one year olds and caravans are not a good combination - NEVER AGAIN!). I seem to have spent the whole week under stress and dieting has been the furthest thing from my mind!! Nevertheless, I did get weighed this morning (my usual weigh-day) and am amazed to find I have only put 1 lb back on - I expected it to be more bearing in mind what I have been eating! I should say I have drawn a line under this week and just get back on the wagon but we are invited to a bbq this afternoon (and just seen the weather forecast!!) so all thoughts of dieting are postponed until tomorrow - when I shall definitely try to get back on the straight and narrow! Have a good weekend everybody!

just a quickie to say i'm still here, still reading but too busy battling across the worlds biggest plataeu to post!
i have been to the gym 16 times in 3 weeks  (40 mins cardio & floor exercises each time)
am really going for it with a super high fibre, lowish fat, alcohol free diet and how much weight have i lost? - not a lb :mad::mad::mad:
i sometimes have thought my clothes may fit a bit better but i'm not sure if i'm even imagining that.

i've only got 7lb to loose, but i've been trying to loose it for 6 months - for goodness sake, is it super glued on!!

i've got 2 weeks till my holiday and no chance of being 10 stone somthing by then (i am 5"10' so that would be good for me)

i've even ben on leave from work this week and not cheated!!

help!! actuallly things aren't as bad as they sound, i feel good from the exercise even if its not actually helping with weight loss

will have a proper catch up with your posts, hope you are all well (and shrinking :D)

    vics xx

Prepping food for tomorrows girlie day, thank goodness my turn only comes around once every three months. This time is easier though, as said yesterday they're all trying to slim down a bit so am cooking accordingly

    Back to today
B - F&F, sk milk. The bowls of F&F are getting smaller, they used to be to the top
L - lf Philly, tomato, lettuce on 2 Ryvita. Rhubarb, ff yogurt
D - tba, will add when I've sorted something out. Ate so much left-over salady stuff (and a few prawns) when I was getting ready for tomorrow I just had a handful of peanuts in the evening

    Have a good day! S

SF, can you post the receipe for the sweet/sour pork steak? it sounds lush!
To be honest, I made it up! :o All I did was add equal amounts of soy sauce, sweet chili sauce and chicken stock, combined with a tablespoon of runny honey :) Add it to the pan where your pork is cooking, and then it reduces into a lovely, sticky sauce :D

    Afternoon, all.

Yesterday turned out even worse than I thought it would on the food front: I didn't get round to eating my LF fruit snack in the afternoon, so I was ravenous by dinner time and ended up eating the whole pizza. :o It was delicious and I enjoyed every bite, but it wasn't exactly a healthy dinner! :o

Today should be a bit better (well, it can't be any worse! ;)):

Brunch - three slices HM seedy bread with butter and salami (OK, that's not that much better, is it? :o); bunch of grapes
Snack - small portion dried fruit
Dinner - roast veg and pesto lasagne, with tomato sauce on top rather than a high fat (if tasty) cheese sauce

Exercise - umm... I've got to walk to the post box in a minute - does that count? (Probably not as it's about 30 seconds from my front door! ;))

    Have a good day, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Afternoon all.

Another busy day here. Went out to collect my Mum from the station earlier as she's come to stay for a few days - which will make sticking to the diet a bit harder as she likes treating us to various meals out, coffees, etc. She has just gone out for a walk into town now and is keen to bring us all a treat back. I managed to persuade her away from calorie laden puddings and cakes and she is going to buy me a Cadbury's fudge as my treat. That was the smallest thing I could think of - although I really like them anyway. I've shortened 2 pairs of cropped trousers (yesterday's charity shop purchases) whilst she is out and am just about to press them.

    B: Banana
    Snack: Small bunch of grapes.
L: Smoked salmon pate on 2 slices of crusty white bread, tomatoes, cucumber, feta. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.
D: Chicken thigh, new potatoes, creamed spinach, green beans.
    Treat: Cadbury's fudge bar.

Exercise: Did my 20 minutes DVD this morning but no walks yet. I might go out for a walk in the woods with Mum this evening if the rain holds off.

  • Morning all. Well a big black line has been drawn under the last week of over-indulgence and today I am back on the wagon. Yesterday's bbq (in between the showers) was the grand finale to my sinful week - I ate far too much and drank way too much wine as well. Paying the price this morning however! So this coming week I really am going to be good! We plan a peaceful few days at the caravan from tomorrow - minus DGDs! So hopeful of nice weather to fit some walking in.

    Today's plan:
    B - Porridge with raspberries
L - LF cauli cheese. Strawberries & FF vanilla yogurt.
D - HM Red Pepper soup, 5 crackerbreads topped with tuna and a bowl of salad. Raspberries mixed into LF chocolate mousse.
    S - Grapes, satsumas.

After several indulgent weeks of watching the same pound come, go or hang around, followed by a week that was more reckless than indulgent (I'm ashamed to say, I didn't even enjoy the couple of binges I had this week apart from the apple crumble one), I can announce that I've lost 2.5lb. Yes, you read that right. After a week where I could have brought home the Gold for Britain if stuffing yourself silly was an Olympic event, I've lost 2.5lb. I'm stunned too. Signature guiltily updated.

If knowing that I'm only two pounds away from my next target now does not give me the incentive to ignore giant tubs of seductively Yellow Stickered taramasalata and behave better, then I don't know what will. To be honest, I've been so far out of 'the zone' this week that I'd even forgotten it was weigh-in day for me until right at the last moment. If it weren't for being part of this thread and accountable to everyone in it, I would have had no reason to get on the scales this morning and probably wouldn't have done, so thanks to all for being here :)

I find it harder to write if I can only see a tiny fragment of what I've written, but according to Amazon my new graphics card is currently on it's way to me (yay!) and so I should be able to participate a bit more next week. In the meantime, I hope everyone else is seeing success as well as seeing the screen :) If not, don't get disheartened and just stick at it - scales can evidently be very forgiving sometimes!

    Afternoon All.

Weigh in day for me today and I've lost another lb. Hurray! I am now just 5lbs off target. It's my day for looking after DGD today so we took her out to a local country fair for a few hours but came home in time for her afternoon nap. That meant I didn't eat out either and so was able to have a low calorie lunch as DS and DIL come for a Sunday meal when they finish work at 5pm.

B: Muesli with chopped dates and sultanas added. Served with semi skimmed milk and a dash of double cream.
Snack: Mum treated us all to an icecream but I shared mine with DGD
L: 2 ryvitas, one with cream cheese and tomato, one with peanut butter.
D: Roast honey glazed gammon, peas, sweetcorn and new potatoes. I shall also do roast potatoes but not partake. I shall probably have fruit for afters with DGD but am planning pancakes with syrup and lemon juice for everyone else.

Exercise: 20 minutes DVD this morning whilst Mum was in the bathroom. Wandering round the Country Fair. Maybe a walk in the woods tonight as didn't manage it yesterday because it poured down.
