Hi PJ1 and Bramble
Was going to try to stick to a sensible eating plan but my dear neighbour has just shared her KitKat with me. Didn't realise it was orange chocolate which I really don't like but would have been a bit rude to hand it back after I'd taken a bite
B - Wm roll, scrape spread, scrape marmalade
L - Wm roll, leaves, tomato, cucumber, sniff of lf mayo.
D - Jacket with lf spread, prawns
Snax - two fingers KitKat. Pear, nectarine, apricot diced into ff yogurt
The usual urn of tea, one black coffee
Exercise - made up spare room bed and cleaned the room, tidied shed, old greenhouse + pots and swept paths. Jiggered now!0 -
:T:T:Thi guys ..a big well done for the losers! :T:T:T
I'm really struggling with the diet, with being so busy at work, a house full of students and getting on track with the debt busting. So I am going to leave you all for a few weeks and come back when life is a bit more sane. Am on holiday in September so will come back ready and prepared for flab fighting on the 19th SepT.

Hi there
I'm new to this thread but wanted to join in if I may? I need to lose 3 stone. I don't have any spare cash to be frittering on 'diet' products or clubs or so on, or even on going to exercise classes - so this approach suits me well! (Although I'll admit I've given myself a budget of £20 to find a 2nd hand exercise bike - still looking but fingers crossed!)
I've slipped into a very unhealthy lifestyle - eating and drinking too much, very limited exercise and so on. I work full time, and struggle to find the energy to do much moving around once I get home from work. (I know that's an excuse and I'm determined to get out of that attitude - but it's where I have been until now) There's always a steady supply of cakes / treats at work which don't help either.
I started my new approach on Monday and on day 3 I'm still on track. So, my food today is:
Breakfast - bowl of rice crispies, semi skimmed milk (but really not much cos I don't like milk)
Lunch - home made wholemeal pitta bread, home made houmous & rocket
Dinner - steamed fish, new potatoes & peas
Snacks - 1 yoghurt, 1 apple.
Drinks - water, 2 cups tea.
I haven't worked out what my exercise will be. Ideally I'd walk but I'm having physio on my lower back at the moment and am supposed to stick to non-weight-bearing exercise (hence the exercise bike). I could swim but it's not very warm today and to be honest the crowds at the beach are a little offputting in August! (Can't afford the swimming pool.) Any other (free) suggestions would be welcomed!
Not sure how much more info to put about me on here so I'll stop here for now.0 -

Morning All,
Eyes much worse this morning-very sore & sticky!
Anyway, yesterday I spent most of the day working on my allotment so that was good exercise. Haven't been for walk today as it's totally pouring which on the one hand is good as it'll water in all the seeds & plants I put in yesterday but on the other is bad cos I hung out my washing last night!!! Grr!
In the end I had a baked potato with Flora light with steamed cabbage and 2 scrambled eggs with 30g cheddar. Trouble is after that I didn't have my yogurt but had bowl of Honey Nut Shredded Wheat! Still, I just about stayed in my allowance.
Today I'm planning on having
B. Oats, sultanas & skim
L. Egg mayo, tomato & lettuce sandwich, apple
D. Meatloaf, gravy, mash, carrots & cauliflower
P. Yogurt & jam
Maybe an Ovaltine Light if I still want something else.
Drinks. Up to 200ml skim for Redbush, water.
Have a good day everyone.
I'll post the meatloaf recipe later-it was from my Eating for Victory book with a few "tweaks"

Morning all.Trouble is after that I didn't have my yogurt but had bowl of Honey Nut Shredded Wheat! Still, I just about stayed in my allowance.
I haven't had that in years! I was wondering what cereal to buy when I go shopping tomorrow and now I know - thanks, PJ!
I had my weigh-in this morning, a day early as I won't have time tomorrow morning, and it's STS.I really don't understand this: last week I started off with good intentions that I didn't really stick to and lost 3lb; this week I've eaten considerably less than usual and haven't lost an ounce. Hey ho, all I can do is plough ever onwards:
B - muesli with SS milk
S - banana
L - four mini lamb kofte with mixed salad and a WM roll; fresh melon
D - healthy chilli con carne (it's more veg than meat) with brown rice
Exercise - a walk to the baker's at lunchtime to buy a roll for lunch (if it stops raining, anyway - if not it will be a dash to the shop round the corner!); a walk of about a mile each way to and from the pub this evening, although the cider I'll drink there will probably undo any weightloss benefits from the walk.
Sonia - welcome to the thread and best of luck with your new OS approach.Back after a very long break!0 -
Morning all, welcome to PJ1, you will get lots of support here and practical help, your meatloaf sounds good, can you share the recipe?
The recipe is as follows:-
8oz/250g sausagemeat
2 tbsps copped onion
1 tblsp pickle
3oz/100g breadcrumbs
mixed herbs
salt & pepper
2tbsps milk
Mix all the ingredients together turn ito greased lidded tin and steam 1.5-2hrs.
What I did was doubled the recipe but used 12oz/350g sausagemeat, 100g mushrooms, 1 whole onion and I forgot to double the breadcrumbs which might explain why it's not as firm as I expected.
I put it in an uncovered loaf tin and put it in my slow cooker for 3hrs.
HTH.

Welcome Sonia
Back to normal Thursday weigh-day, not done properly for 2 weeks and I've lost 2lb, now 10st. 12.8lb. We're going down
Today's menu will be something like this..
B - wm roll with a scrape of spread and a sniff of marmalade
L - wm sandwich with Philly and tomato (no spread), couple of stick of celery. Scoop lf ice cream
D - Jacket with prawns, any salad I can scrape together (shopping day tomorrow). Plums, nectarine in ff yogurt
Snacks - banana, 1/2 bowl dry F&F nibbled at through the day. Def need to go shopping!
Exercise - dismantling/taking old greenhouse frame to the tip. Hands and knees kitchen floor clean, doesn't sound too taxing but my kitchen is 12 x 18
Happy Thursday0
