One of the nice things about 'belonging' to more than one forum is you get to wish friends a happy birthday more than once! So -

I'm not even going to list what I ate on my day out yesterday, suffice to say it was a lovely day out and much yummy food/drinks were consumed :D. We did walk a lot though, my legs and feet are aching today so hopefully I burned off some of what I ate. :o

    today:
breakfast: none, got up late and had to rush out to church :o
    lunch: homemade minestrone soup
dinner:not sure yet, will see what's in the freezer in a bit.

    Afternoon all.

Brunch - 3 slices HM granary bread with smoked salmon and avocado
Snack - large slice of HM cake (working on sparrer's theory that it will have no calories as it's my birthday ;))
Dinner - pot roast pork; roast veggies; boiled HG new potatoes; followed by a handful of fresh strawberries

Probably a few ciders tonight as it's pub quiz night and I don't have to go to work tomorrow. :D

Exercise - I've got to get my tomatoes planted out so there'll be some shifting of grow bags - I'm not sure how much as it depends how long it takes for me to start coughing again. :(

Hope everyone's having a pleasant Sunday.
Back after a very long break!
  • happy birthday ccp!!

ragz i like your mission statements. the tasty fruit and nut mixes may have been partly to blame. thanks for recipe link - im going to try to eat more soup too. did u hear about the 600 cal a day diet curing 7 out of 11 people of diabetes? is 600 cals not dangerously low?

sparrer the hidden costs do put me off slightly. we went on thomson and appreciated nearly everything being included service charges, ice cream station, even pack lunches on day trips etc and although we had wonderful time would like a ship with a bit more wow next time :D i think the paid for ben & jerrys place would torure me the whole holiday! Allure of the Seas will have to wait for the lottery win lol

littlemoog sounds like you will have a very low calorie day today.

b: exotic muesli and 1% milk yayyyy no water lol
l: 2 vegetable fingers, spring onion, rocket, celery and cucumber
s: special k bar that i didnt eat yesterday

    plan for later
d: LO chicken thigh with vegetables and mint sauce
s: orange that i didnt eat yesterday

exercise: 1 and half hours on playground with lil pincher and will play football with him in back garden when he wakes up. going to do kinect boxing when he's in bed tonight.

Hi all - me again, back from my holiday. Congratulations to everyone who's lost while I've been away, and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY! to CCP :)

I'm stunned to be able to report that after a week of virtually every dietary excess known to man and not nearly as much walking as I'd liked to have done (due to being confined to the bars or caravan most of the time on account of ropey weather), I've stayed the same!!! I expected to be looking at a gain of at least four pounds after all the boozing and guzzling I've been doing, so just to be able to start where I left off without an upward blip blighting the downward trend is a huge bonus.

I'll admit that my head isn't quite back in the 'weight loss' place yet and that bothered me a bit, but I met up with one of my sons today and he made a nice comment about the top I was wearing, bought in a smaller size than usual just before I went away - he's a lovely big, blokish, lager drinking footballing type who doesn't mince his words and can always be relied upon to tell me honestly if I look like a pack of dogs scrapping in a sack when asked, so to get an unsolicited compliment from him like that gave me such a boost that I think I'll be back on track by tomorrow morning.

  • Welcome back Ida Notion, we've missed your amusing posts! Well done for not gaining too despite all the excesses! Hope you had a Happy Birthday CCP!

Well I have drawn a thick black line under my weekend with the DGD's! Pinching their left over pizza and finding myself with bowls of Smarties ice cream too! But surely running around after the younger two did some good too! I won't mention the bottle of wine that came out after we had finally got them to bed (10.00 pm!) Saturday night, feeling totally stressed out! The eldest is still here but once she has been taken to school that's me back on a sensible eating plan yet again! As long as I can avoid eating the golden syrup pancakes she loves for breakfast!

Hi everyone - hope you have a great week ahead x

Put on 1lb this week. Not surprising as I haven't really felt the oomph to get going. As long as i keep an eye n what I am doing I will hopefully not put on anymore.

    Today:
No appetite this morning so have only had a cuppa with a splash of oat milk. Might have a slice of melon later to have something on my tum.
L: Salad with 2 tbsp hummus and dark rye crispbreads. Likely I'll have a little mixed veg pickle on the hummus too. Cup of tea with oat milk after.
D: Supposed to be wholemeal sub pizza, but not sure I if I don't fancy the sweet pot and lentil pot instead. We'll see.
Love and compassion to all x

ended up eating lamb ragu from the freezer for dinner last night, but didn't have anything with it as feeling pretty grim. Seem to have come down with a bug, sore throat, aching joints, temp up and down :( meh!

todays meals will be mostly up to DH, as he's on hols this week and I don't feel like getting off the sofa :o
breakfast: 1 slice wholemeal bread and butter and a glass of SS milk.
    lunch: probably soup
    dinner:whatever DH feels like making
    snacks: apple, satsumas
