TravellingAbuela wrote: »Morning all. Well the half bottle of wine finally called out loudly enough last night and I ended up drinking it. This morning I feel full of remorse and wish I had shoved it in a cupboard out of sight. I have just sorted out today's eats:
B - Toasted LF muffin with a scrambled egg, a bit of lean, thin ham and some mushrooms cooked in water in microwave.
L - Left over chicken breast in WW granary bread with some salad. WW berry fromage frais.
D - A few Crackerbreads with Light Laughing Cow - to sustain me till evening when I am off to a friend's retirement do - where I will no doubt be forced to eat copious amounts of food and be plied with wine. Oh how I wish you could buy willpower!
Have a good day all.
I feel for you. There are certain foods that I have to ban from the house as once I know they are there I can't keep away from them! I wonder how people have a normal relationship with food!0 -
Have been reading through the threads and would love to join you. I always weigh my self first thing in the morning, after I have been to the loo and with no clothes on. The heaviest I have been this year was 11 st 13 3/4 and this morning I am 10st 3 1/2. I would ideally like to be about 8st 7 lb.
I divide my time between the Uk and Cyprus. t the moment I am in Cyprus for another two weeks and then back to the UK for 3 weeks. I am vegetarian, but tempted by bread, chips and alcohol! The salad stuff, fruit, vegetables, nuts, olive oil here are fantastic. i am looking after a friend's dog, so am walking quite a bit. Also, have a pool and can swim as much as I like, so am quite fortunate, but do not always make the most of it.
B: luxury muesli with SS milb, two cups of coffee with a little SS milk
L: I steamed a large amount of mixed veg yesteday, so will be having that, prob with a bit of gravy made up with granulesam going to try to last out until I go to quiz, as supper is served there..... HM veg soup, bread and chips! Will have soup, bread without butter, but try to forgo the chips. Also, will drink coffee instead of beer!
Exercise: walks with dog, swimming.... really should be doing the keep fit video that i have here. It is the Gaynor Faye one and is good to do... I just lack the discipline!sloan SKI-ers Club #10 :j0 -

Welcome sloan
. I know just what you mean by not taking advantage of what you've got, we lived by a beach for years and used it perhaps twice every Summer. The kids liked riding in the winter - bylaws said no riding from end March to end Sept - but other than that we didn't use it. I wish we had now I don't live there!
It's going to be a bit of a messy day but will try to make wise choices -
B glass grapefruit juice
L monthly outing with DD and DGD. We always go for a pub meal after DGD has been to the orthodontist. Suprising how teens manage to eat just after having the brace tightened
D prob a sandwich or small salad if anything at all after eating out.
Snacks - whatever's left in the fruit bowl. Must go shopping!0 -
Morning all, thought I would never make it back on here...feel like a weight has lifted today.
Well the exercise has been a casualty lately, the food not too bad, bar another celebration feast involving cake etc.
So I am aiming to stay the same this week if I am lucky
Just off to re-group, re-organise etc.
Have a good day everyoneHealthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
Welcome all the Newbies, sorry I haven't said Hi yet. Shellyphant thanks for that recipe, I may give it a go as DS1 loves kidney beans.
I'll be having fajitas tonight (thanks to Vixtress!) and I shall try to Low Fat them as much as possible. No cheese, no soured cream, less oil/spray oil. I have 0% Greek Yogurt, I wonder if that'd work instead of the soured cream?
Today
7.30am - Toast and Jam
11am - FF yogurt
Will edit later if I get a chance.
WI - I've lost 1.5lb since last week, bringing my month to a rather uninspiring 2lb but there's a few days left so I'll declare total and next target on Friday. I guess even 1/2lb a week gets you there eventually!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

sorry not been about for a while.
been struggling with depression and fallen of the bandwagon with the comfort eating and buying convenience food.
aim to start again tommorow, will try to pick up a few healthy bits in a while before going into work, if not tommorow morning when i can get a few bits cheaper then the shop i work in.
will try and keep a food diary, cut back on junk plus try to have some healthier alternatives.0 -
Morning all.
Welcome to sloan and Shelleyphant. Thanks for that recipe, Shelleyphant - that sounds lovely and may well find its way into my meal plan for next week.
UnluckyT - I'm sorry to hear you've been so down recently - I hope you're picking up again now.
I spent the day out with my DM yesterday and didn't eat particularly healthily (the only sandwiches on offer at lunchtime were bacon ones, so what were we to do?(and, more to the point, what were vegetarians meant to do?)), but we did do a lot of walking around (when it wasn't raining) so I hope I burnt off a few of the excess calories.
Today goes:
B - two slices granary toast with butter and HM raspberry jam
L - mixed salad with a few slices of salami and half a dozen mini crispbreads
S - possibly a piece of fruit, or possibly a piece of cake
D - healthy chilli con carne with half a small ciabatta roll; last glass or so of wine in the bottle (that will be the last alcohol I'll drink for a few days - I've been feeling tired and a bit down recently and I wonder if the fact I've been drinking slightly more than usual has something to do with it. Even if it doesn't, cutting out alcohol can't hurt the diet!)
Exercise - possibly a bit of gardening, if I can be bothered.
Have a pleasant day, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

We use 0% fromage frais instead of creme fraiche now, and it's fine, so I think greek yoghurt would probably be ok?Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Back to work today, but still feeling pretty bleugh
No breakfast, and left my lunch in the fridge this morning, so have been to the canteen and succumbed to a cheese baguette and some crispsI can avoid temptation until something's right in front of me.
Oh well, will try and have something low cal for tea to make up for it, and I'm supposed to be going to pilates later which will burn off a few extra cals, if I feel up to going when I get home. Our lab has just been refurbished and we're moving back in today, so have been lifting and unpacking boxes and got pretty hot/sweaty so hopefully I'll burn more than usual today.
DH in charge of dinners this week as he's on hols, so we'll be eating from his limited repertoire :rotfl: We've had mexican stuff the last 2 nights, hopefully tonight will be a change :cool:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
