  • Morning all - I have just braved the scales for the weekly weigh-in and I am still stuck at 9st 8lbs. So no loss but, there again, no gain so I suppose that's something! I had my DGD's all day yesterday and my exercise for the day was chasing around after them but I obviously wasn't running fast enough. I have them back again this afternoon for a sleepover so that's more exercise, as long as I can keep my hands off their favourite food - pizza and cheesy pasta, followed by Smarties ice cream smothered in strawberry syrup! I have just devised my menu and, as I really must try harder, I hope I can stick to it:
B - porridge with mixed berries
L - HM soup, 5 crackerbreads & LF Dairylea & bowl of salad. WW berry Fromage Frais.
D - Chicken with HM wedges (using One-Cal spray) more salad. SF jelly, raspberries & FF creme fraiche.
    S - fruit & Aldi cheese curls

CCP - hope you are feeling better for the weekend. Congrats to the losers - wish I was one of them! Maybe next week!

    Happy Saturday :)

Am going to tea with a friend who doesn't just love to cook, she lives to cook! So, so far

    B. Fresh pineapple
    L. 1/4 honeydew, 1/2 satsuma. The dog ate the other half when I was on the phone :(
T - to be added but whatever it is, it's gonna be big!

    Afternoon all.

Thanks for your get well wishes - I'm feeling a bit better today, but still a long way from brilliant. :(

    Today goes:

Brunch - bacon sarnie with tomato; two apricots (the ones I've been listing for the past three or four days, which I've finally got round to eating :o)
Snack - slice of HM banana and raspberry cake with fresh strawberries
Dinner - supermarket 'takeaway' curry, because it's my birthday tomorrow ;)

I'm very pleased with the cake I've made - it's both healthy and OS as I used an over-ripe banana in place of the oil in the recipe, the last of the fat-free yoghurt in place of the milk, threw in a tub of half-price raspberries, and made a lemon icing with the sad-looking half lemon that's been in the fridge for over a week. :money: I just hope it tastes good after all that money saving! ;)

    Have a pleasant rest-of-Saturday, all.
Back after a very long break!

sparrer we keep dreaming of going on royal caribbean!

travellingabuela i must say i quite like the sound of ur GDs menu!!

ccp the cake sounds good - please update on the taste

i enjoyed the boxing but it wasnt as energetic as i hoped as there was a lot of time spent just holding pads for sparring partner to punch. shopped for 4 hours after tho

we ended up in boots and mr pincher talked me into weighing myself. nearly 2 weeks since last weigh in and have lost 2lb. nice to know in right direction but going to try to do more cardio and eat less very hearty meals.

i have frozen 2 fajita fillings for work lunch - no cheese as mr pincher only likes to buy full fat so its not half as tasty as the last batch! i bought discovery tortilla wraps today 59p for 8 small 118cals each. will freeze most so dont eat all in one go!

    eaten so far today:

b: exotic muesli half full fat milk half water
l: chicken thigh (degreased using 2 sheets kitchen towel!), rocket, carrot, celery and cucumber

    plan for later:
    s: orange
d: HM sheperds pie with sweet potato mash topping
s: special k double choc bar

Cake update, as requested by Miss Penny Pincher: it tastes very nice indeed - very rich and almost buttery, despite there being no butter (or any other fat) in it. I'll definitely have to remember this recipe for another time. :)
Back after a very long break!

Miss PP I'm afraid you'd have to win the lottery first, it was far more expensive than any of the lines my friends have been on. Super, but lots of not so little hidden extras.

CCP that cake sounds really delicious. Trouble is I daren't make cake any more as there's only me in the house, so I'd eat it all!

TravellingAbuela to maintain is brilliant, especially with LO's in the house :)

As expected, tea was very, very yummy and there was lots of it! We had hm quiche (almost 2" deep!), ham, home grown cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce, blue cheese, hm buttered bread and crisps, followed by hm summer fruit brulee. I had to decline the rhubarb crumble, much as it hurt me to do so I just didn't have room for it :(

    Have a healthy Sunday!

According to my Wii fit I've only lost 1.5lb this month. I really must try harder the next 4 days see if I can shift a bit more. Have not managed to get out for as much running as I would have liked, also really have been eating too much and I know it. Time to start minimising those portions again! I keep assuming that because the food I eat is healthy I can have as much as I like but that's just not true! I do feel and look slimmer though so that is encouraging even if the scales are not co-operating.

    Missions for next month
    - Choose ONE treat per day and have ONE only
    - NO cider or wine
    - NO baking! (Of course I have to bake for packed lunches but maybe I can freeze in portions to stop me eating things, it's amazing how many 'little tastes' etc sneak in while baking!)
    - Wii fit on the days I can't run, at least 200 calories.
    - Soup for lunches (or just better lunches, I never plan lunches I just can't think of anything to have! SUGGESTIONS WELCOME)
    - Smaller portions!

    Today
    -banana (before run)
    - Porridge with raisins (after run)
Lunch - Carrot and Lentil Soup
    Dinner - Spag bol/chili
June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
    2 adults, 3 teens
