Well here I am > !
Definately not given up. Youngest DD has had a terrible week not sleeping, most unusual, nightmares etc. So have not had too much sleep myself, hence lack of posting as I have dragged myself through the week.
Todays weigh-in: 10st 7lb, (STS since Friday)
Have stuck to my exercise and eating plan, but not done too much else due to tiredness, so ok with that result. Ok... plus a richer-than-expected lunch out, and I have noticed my carb portions creeping up in size.
That's enough of excuses! I am going to tie down these carb portions, will sort out what I should be having.

Welcome LittleMoog. Funny you should mention waist measurements, I have been thinking about mine, was 39", now 36". Something I have read says women should aim for 31" or below (?), and that fat around the middle consists of larger particles of fat, and acts like an organ pumping out bad chemicals into the rest of our body. Well that is off putting! Cannot imagine loosing 5 or more inches off my waist but I am going to try. Will log on sig like yourself, good idea.Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.

According to the literature from our event, <32" puts you at a lower risk for developing Type 2 diabetes etc (for women, I think it was 37" for men). I'm not sure I'll manage to lose 12" from my waist, but I'd certainly like it to be a lot lower than 44 when I go back to be remeasured in October!
I'm hoping that with the pilates (which I'm doing to help my back problem) and extra diet/exercise I might see quite a difference. Pilates was a killer last night, my tummy muscles are really sore today!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
I measured my waist in Nov when I was 12½ stone and just was over the recommended - Heart foundation did a pack with a tapemeasure marked in colours - and have managed to lose 2.5 inches by losing just over a stone. So now I'm most definitely under it. (my signature only shows the loss since May so doesn't include the November weight).
I haven't been on for a bit- not because of eating but because I've been busy and stressed.
I've also been borrowing SW books and healthy recipe books from my library and copying out a few recipes I think are likely to fit our family's tastes. Anyone stuck for ideas should check out the library.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Welcome LittleMoog, thanks for the waist measurement info and (and LovetoPaint for the link, that's interesting about the Wholegrains), must do mine again as it's been a few weeks. I tend to hold my stomach in constantly (always have done) and find it hard to relax it in order to measure myself but feel like I'm cheating if I don't. Don't forget upper arm and upper thigh measurements too for keeping track of the inches.

Evening all! Just back from my four days at the caravan. Did quite a bit of walking and stuck to my eating plan most of the time! Even when Mr TA tucked into his big bowl of treacle sponge and custard I stuck with my bowl of SF jelly, raspberries & a meringue nest. I was a bit naughty on Wednesday, however, succumbing to a Cornetto after a long circular walk through the woods and back along the riverside. So whatever good the walk did was cancelled out by the ice cream! I was so annoyed with myself I then consoled myself with two (or was it three!) glasses of wine in the evening! I missed my Wednesday weigh-in so will get on the scales in the morning and see what good or otherwise the scales show! And a big welcome to LittleMoog!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Exercise: 1 hour walking0 -
Morning, here I am again fresh off the scales! 9st 8lbs so that's one pound lost since last week. Not a great deal but better than nothing I suppose, and there was a bit of cheating going on in amongst the healthy eating! So making S-L-O-W progress and at this rate I should hit 9 stone in about 2 months time!! I really must try harder! Just had a rummage in the fridge & freezer and have come up with today's menu:
B - Porridge topped with raspberries
L - HM Tomato & Basil soup, 5 crackerbreads with LF Philly & prawns, bowl of salad. SF jelly & mixed berries, with small blob FF yogurt
D - Poached haddock, salad & HM wedges. Strawberries, blueberries & LF fromage frais.
S - Satsumas (as usual) but trying to cut down on the grapes as I think I eat too many and they are high in sugar. Prob a bag of Aldi cheese curls.
Have a good day everybody."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
