TravellingAbuela Well done on the lb loss, that's good progress, especially if you have less than stone to lose.

Am experimenting with porridge for breakfast instead of toast. Stirred in half a mashed banana and spoonful or raisins and teaspoon of honey. I used to have porridge then be hungry quite soon after so I want to see if that's still the case or if maybe I was just 'thinking' I was really hungry. Hopefully the added fruit will help, though really I should have squeezed some protein in, maybe add nuts. Hmmm.

Morning all, thanks for the all the welcomes yesterday :) Went to Zumba last night, it was a killer, I looked a bit like this after I left

Woke up hungry this morning, normally I have to force myself to eat breakfast, but I got up 20 minutes earlier than normal because my stomach was growling :o

    Today's meals:
Breakfast: Country crisp cereal (20g) and pouring yoghurt (100g) (160 cals)
Lunch: Soup, pear, satsuma (370 cals)
Dinner: ??? out for our anniversary, so suspect steak and wine will be involved :rotfl:

DH has bought me a cupcake decorating course for our anniversary, which i'm really looking forward to, but not really what you need in the first week of a diet :rotfl:

Exercise: walk at lunchtime if the rain holds off (3 miles) and swim after work.

Probably won't be on over the weekend, as we're off to the south coast to go sailing with DH's dad. Will probably be eating out again on Saturday night, but will try and keep all my other meals low in calories. Also will probably throw up, as I still don't have my sea legs :o

Will weigh in on Monday morning...

morning all :D welcome to the newbies and welcome back to those returning to the wagon :D

official WI this morning.......................drum roll please.....................the grand total of 1/4lb :o its annoying as i have been pretty good all week, swimming 3 times and avoided pretty well all the goodies at work. i am still happy though as a loss is a loss! it really is harder to lose when youve only got a few lbs to shift!

i am a bit worried how the next few days will go as its my birthday weekend so will be eating out sat night and possibly sun evening and OH is already talking about takeaway pizza tonight as my kids are at their dad's and he has his daughters.

all i can say is i will try to not pig between the meals out but the weekend is definately going to involve wine and some indulgance (at least we dont really do puddings)

the planning for the next few days may be a bit non existant! i just need to make sure i get back on the wagon on monday as that really is the make or break thing for me.

    enjoy your weekend

  • Happy Birthday Vixtress! Well if you can't pig out on your birthday when can you?! Usually when I have pigged out I get back on the wagon full of remorse and really determined (for a day anyway ha ha!) I think it's true, the less weight you have to shift the harder it is to do it! I have a friend who has lost 4 stones over the last year (on WW) and here I am, almost 2 months into the diet, and only lost 6 lbs! Still another 8 lbs to go!

Thanks for that Lovetopaint, I have just registered.
Little treat for lunch, chip shop chips, bread and mayo. But only a very small serving of chips (split a large portion between me and three kids, DS1&2 had more than I did!), granary bread with no spread and light mayo (Lidl one, lovely actually nicer than light Hellmans). Also had a FF yogurt.

Am trying to give up smoking (again, I gave up while pregnant but started again after miscarriage, no one had the heart to tell me not to!). Thought I'd share that on here to make sure I stick to it. I don't smoke a lot (like 5-8 a day) but I think it's not helping with the running, my chest gets very tight. Also don't liek to think that I smell lol and I don't really enjoy it, it tastes rank! No chance of getting DH to quit just yet though so I'll be getting no support from that angle :(
I'm hoping the running will help with quitting and also prevent the associated overeating that usually occurs. We shall see, wish me luck!

That's the one I registered with. The tape measure is not just a flimsy bit of paper either (like some others). The info was very interesting. and the tape measure is coloured white, pink or red - depending on your waist size and whether male or female :D

I'm out of the pink now and into the white so can be all smug - though my BMI is still "overweight" :p

Good luck, ragz. I'm planning on quitting too at some point after we get back off of holiday, and may even be able to pursuade my husband to join me. I smoke a bit more than you do (about 20 hand rolled a day) and am slightly worried about the impact that giving up might have on my slimming efforts, but having lost the initial wodge of blubber am willing to up my calorie allowance for the first week or so if I have to. I'm also planning to ask my husband for a cheapie exercise bike for my birthday in a few weeks (after I've rid him of the erroneous impression that I want a new exhaust system for his car!), so that might help keep the balance in my favour.

I'd love to know what first prompted a person to see a tobacco plant and think 'I know - I'll dry this out, wrap it in a bit of paper, stick it in my face and set light to it. Great idea!'. Only the doziest of minds could have come up with that one - the only thing more surreal is that millions of us adopted lemming-heads and decided to join him :)
