    Hi All
so inspired by all your successes that I can't wait to get started on weight loss the old style way. Tried so many, many diets over the years and each one started off great and then fell by the wayside. Last few years have been more difficult as I was going through menopause....should that be womenopause? Anyway just when I thought it couldn't get any worse doc discovers I have an underactive thyroid. The 2 combined didn't do a great deal for my waistline and 4 stone later here I am. But as they say, this is the first day of the rest of my life so wish me luck :j................this looks like me doing my star jumps.:D

Afternoon all, and welcome to the new posters who have arrived during my week away. :hello: Well done to everyone who has lost this week. :T

I stepped on the scales this morning and miraculously weigh the same as I did this time last week, which is quite amazing when the nearest I came to vegetables for most of my week away was feeding spinach leaves to my parents' guinea pigs. :o I can't claim to have got back in to the swing of things today, either, as I went out with friends last night and have spent much of today mildly regretting drinking one (or maybe two ;)) too many glasses of cider. :o

    Today is / has been:

    B - none - I was still asleep :o:o:o
L - pack of ham and egg sarnies from the supermarket; mini sausage roll; apple
D - roast beef; mixed salad (including the first of this year's HG lettuce leaves :j); a bit of cheese and onion flatbread; glass of white wine (well, the bottle's open and I can't let it go to waste, can I? ;))

I'm not sure what I'll be doing tomorrow as I've allowed myself to be talked into volunteering at a local food fair - hopefully spending the whole day on my feet in the rain will burn off the calories from all the tasty free samples I hope to find there. :money: ;)
Back after a very long break!

well i think i must have walked about 5 miles today round the East of England Show, i felt out of place, we seemed to be the only people without a doggie :) but the exercise was good for me but then the heavens opened as per usual, it always rains at the show, every single year,
yesterday i mowed the lawn and weeded plus i try to do an hours exercise each day, not all at once i hasten to add, in manageable chunks,
today i had a healthy brekkie of cereal
lunch ~ Fish and chips!!! naughty! well i dont know if it is that bad a meal really as i am too full to eat anything else, i shall weigh myself on Monday, have a great weekend everyone,
  • enjoy ur birthday weekend vixtress.

good luck with the quitting ragz.

newlywed i hope ur day has got better x

I measured my waist and have several inches to lose. The thought of diabetes is spurring me on so thanks for that!!

I signed up for special offer today at new gym offering exercise classes for £1 each so have 3 booked! The theory is if it's booked in I'm more likely to exercise!

Had 1 sweet in office and someone brought in box of chocs today but somehow resisted!!! only cos it hadn't been opened and I didn't want to look like mad choc deprived fembot ripping them open and scoffing several in my mouth in one go! Then a colleague asked me to share her rice pudding with her! It's a minefield!

b: bowl special k with ss milk
s: free sweet, free rice pudding
l: sandwiches (4 slices WM bread with barely there last scrapings hummous, turkey ham, cucumber and spinach)
s: apple, WW hula hoops (77cals, 0.7g fat, 4/10 taste lol)
D: 2 LO chicken thighs and salad

    Exercise: 1 hour walking

I'm wondering whether one way to help resist fatty treats when out is to give them a probable taste rating out of 10 and only succumb and have a small portion if you score it higher than a 9 lol
  • Morning everybody. Not a good start to the day here - drizzling - so hope it soon picks up as I was hoping to get a bit of weeding done today. If not I shall have a soup making morning (low fat of course) to freeze in individual portions as my stocks are going down.

I stuck to plan yesterday - until evening!! I need my ankles tying together at night to stop me roaming to the fridge and picking! Nonetheless, today is another day and plan is as follows:

    B - Porridge and raspberries
L - HM soup with Nimble sandwiches (salad & tuna) Strawberries & SF jelly with WW creme fraiche.
D - Jacket potato with prawns and salad. Meringue nest, raspberries & blueberries with WW fromage frais.
    S - Fruit & Aldi cheese curls

    Have a good day everybody!

IdaNotion Sorry, missed your post earlier. Well done on the loss and have a great time on holiday (don't stress about the eating, you deserve a treat just don't go crazy!)

Great tip I read in my running mag this morning, for those out of the house most of the day - The Lunchbox Diet (advocated by Simon Lowell). Pack ALL your food for the day in a large lunchbox. While many people pack a lunch they forget the snacks and end up eating sweets and chocolate at work to fill in the gaps. If you have a lunchbox full of healthy foods you can graze all day.

Breakfast - Chocolate and banana porridge with raisins. Slice of granary toast with jam.
    Lunch - [STRIKE]Dunno yet[/STRIKE] cheese scones
Dinner - [STRIKE]Better go check the meal plan![/STRIKE] HM pizza, mayo and peas.
Snacks - mini snack pack choc fingers, FF yogurt.

Now we just need to share ideas for what to put in the lunchboxes (hopefully not TOO much cheese!)

    My suggestions -
Snacks - Nuts, seeds, dried fruit, fresh fruit, FF yogurt, Popcorn, crackers, rice cakes, veg sticks, tomatoes, flapjack, LF cake.
Lunches - Wraps, pasta/rice/quinoa etc salad, ryevita with soft cheese, soup (if you have access to microwave)
