Aaarrggghhh, (one of) my worst areas!
However, i seem to have seen a decent reduction in the amount of wing left after steadily doing chair dips and mock-boxing holding 2kg weights for the last few months.
However, am getting bored of these so pls share your wing-focussed exercises :A <---- thought this was an appropriate icon :rotfl:0 -
Did 40 minutes on the Wii Fit this morning, burnt 237 calories. First time back on it since I started running, did take me longer to work up a sweat than it used to.
Breakfast - 2 slices HM WM toast, with Jam.
Snack - FF yogurt (probiotic ones, £1 for 4 in tesco)
Lunch - 3 quarters of tuna sandwich, 1 quarter cheese sandwich. 2 strawberries.
Snack - Slice of weetabix cake.
Dinner - probably veg and lentil curry out of freezer as DH will be having the rest of his Fat-Fest kebab.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Naughty me had a sneak weigh in this morning, dreading the result so looked through squinty eyes at the dial...and I've lost a pound! 2 weeks of excellent food (head chef on the ship was British, yeah!) little or no exercise and I weigh less than when I started, unbelievable :T. Won't change my sig til my proper weigh day on Thursday though cos it would just be the Law of Sod I'd put on more than I lost! :rotfl:

Hello, well done to recent loosers.
I have been re-reading up on fats (it takes a while for things to sink in with me).
I have learnt today that an egg is medium fat, and low in saturated fats. The nat. yoghurt I love just creeps up into the medium fat range, and is medium in saturated fat.
I am restricting my 30g cheese to 3 times a week, red meat 2 times a week, butter is about 3 tsps a week already.
I will use a desert spoon to measure oil instead of a tablespoon, and fry less often generally. I am going to restrict the good oils (eg. peanut butter, nuts, seeds, oily fish), but still have them, as essential I think.

What a learning curve this all is, but hopefully it will stick with me for life :T
Have planned my food for the week, it was like doing homework all over again! Have a good day allHealthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
Thank you for the link lovetopaint, I'm a 'cut down fats' person rather calorie counter or carb avoider and thought I was doing it right but skimmed through and it's been a real eye-opener! Have bookmarked the site and will have a proper read when I get back from coffee (and no doubt a piece of her home-made cake
) with a friend

Lovetopaint Good for you, the more we learn about nutrition the better we are set up for healthy eating for life and can stick to it. Knowledge is power!
WI day today (annoyed as I weighed yesterday morning and was .5 a lb lighter!) and have lost .5 of a lb so not quite all of last weeks's gain. I have probably been eating a bit too much and overestimating the calories I use while running.
Just back from Doctors for results of last weeks blood test checking Thyroid function, I need more meds apparently. I was so shocked when I found out I had an under-active thyroid as I am only 25, but I refuse to use it as an excuse for being overweight as I know I got fat by eating too much! Gutted that I have to be on Meds for life though as I was kind of hoping they'd got it wrong and it would have cured itself! Still, upside of the increase in dosage is it should raise my BMR a little so I may lose a bit more weight! Doctor was very impressed with me though, I told her I'd got down to Ideal rather than Overweight (so she weighed me to check! 4kg since last visit) and that I'd given up smoking and started running - she said I am a star patient!
It's my manic day today (2 kids swimming lessons 15 miles away, one at 2pm one at 4.30pm!) so I will be doing a LOT of driving and not much time for exercise (unless someone has DD then I can swim too, fingers crossed!).
Have decided to start logging TIME I eat as well as WHAT to see if there's a pattern when I may be making bad food choices, log drinks as well and to keep better track as I never seem to do a full day. (Did I mention the Anzac biscuits last night, I thought I could bake without eating loads but I can't)
8am - Banana, 1/2 cup of tea (never finish it in the morning, I don't have time!)
10am - 2 weetabix, skimmed milk and raisins. Coffee.
Plan for rest of the day
Lunch - Soup
Dinner - Haddock, chargrilled veg and wedges.
Snack - hmmmm, not a clue yet, probably fruit and a yogurt (may take these with me so I get a chance to eat when I'm actually hungry rather than trying to stock myself up in the morning to try and keep me going until about 8pm... never works!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Sorry about the thyroid situation Ragz, you should be proud of the way you are looking after your health :T.
Link here on ...yoghurt! Very interesting, made me feel better about my medium fat natural yoghurt. Promise not to post anymore links for a bit.
