mope mope mope. I've been really good all week (aside from two slices of pizza) and have put on a kilo!
I am close to the end of my tether!

Did you weigh same time of day? In same clothes? Are your scales accurate? Don't be disheartened, you will probably just show an unrealistically big loss at your next weigh in, or just way tomorrow and see if there's any change. Regular weight measurement only shows a realistic picture of your weight loss when you have several to compare to and can see a trend. One off measurements are a snapshot and therefore not always accurate as weight changes by several pounds or a kilo through the day based on food, water, exercise, alcohol consumption etc. I promise that if you keep it up you will be able to see results in a week or two. Don't forget to take measurements too (waist, thigh and upper arm) and do that every few weeks as you will see the inches drop off too!

Made a lovely Chicken and Chorizo Jambalaya (GoodFood website), healthy but too much of it!
Tomato and Lentil soup with half a slice of bread for lunch.
    Large slice of flapjack.
    Raspberry jelly (too sweet)

Do you use stock with your quinoa Vixtress? I love using quinoa but do find it a little bland sometimes so some inspiration to make it more interesting would be very welcome!
    :D

    evening all :D
ok but not brilliant day today, was going well until i had a smallish banana bun with hi fat masapone frosting, it made be feel bloaty all afternoon :o
i am struggling with staying motivated as i made the mistake of weighing myself this morning and the scales were 3lb up on friday :eek: now the rational side of me knows i havent put 3lb on in 3 days as that would take over 10,000 excess cals but i still wasnt impressed. anyway, today has been:

    2 x toast
salmon sandwich, a small garnish of crisps and salad (was pleased with this as i was out for lunch and could have really blown it)
    that pesky banana bun
quinoa with crunchy veg and halloumi

the quinoa was really nice, ive not done it before.
i cooked 160g in chicken stock (quite strong stock) then mixed it with lightly steamed asparagus and loads of finely chopped pepper, celery and cherry tomatoes. i then mixed in a pack of grilled then chopped halloumi.
this made enough for 3 lunches. it was really tasty :D

    the plan for tomorrow is:
    the usual!
    LO quinoa
poached eggs and asparagus maybe with a slice of wm toast or 2.

i need a bit of a kick tonight, its my birthday at the weekend so i know the diet will go out of the window but i want to limit the damage to 1 or 2 days, not a week.

hope you are all doing well, sounds like most are so well done :D

Morning all. WI this morning I am 1lb heavier than last week. Partly due to some of last week's loss being alcohol related dehydration and partly because it's TOTM and I am feeling huge! Not bothered as I know I am still heading in the right direction, I will be lighter next week!
Swimming this afternoon, aiming for more than 20 lengths this time (I only get 25 minutes and it's a long pool!)

    Food
Breakfast - 1 ryevita with marmite and LF soft cheese. 1 large bowl cheerios with Skimmed Milk.
Lunch - Tomato and Lentil soup, WM bread.
Dinner - Baked Hake (will do it in foil this time, without oil), baked/boiled New potaotes, (frozen) chargrilled veg, peas.
Snacks - FF yogurt, Dried Apricots.

    At least that's the plan!

    Third time lucky?
I keep writing long posts only for the internet to stop working???

    Well done miss penny pincher!
Do not be disheartened ragz and meatsweats it could be water weight , or if not check your portion size, you should just eat until satisfied and if you can feel the food in your stomach you know you have overdone it! Doesn't matter if it is luttuce or oranges or chocolate that you have eaten if you have eaten too much the weight will start to come on. Small portions equals small stomaches, we do not want to waste money on gastric bypassess, this is the diy way!

  • Ragz - Could the hunger after fruit be due to the high water and sugar content being digested quickly?

I was back in the office today which is the crunch! Not only is there usually cake and chocs available but the boredom makes me 'hungry' and I spend a lot of the day thinking about food and scoffing it from my food drawer!! My boss upset me at work today and I was craving comfort food. There were loads of sweets which somehow i resisted but did have:

b: 2 bowls special k with ss milk
    s: nectarine
l: sandwiches (4 slices WM bread with thin spread, turkey, cucumber and spinach)
s: chilli seeds and raisins, pasta mug shot (204cals, 2% fat), berries.
    D: will be vegetable stew

Maybe to combat my work eating I will have to fight hard to not eat much at home in evenings? I tried chewing gum and drinking pints of water but it didn't stave off need for food.

    Exercise: 1 hour walking

Kind of, it's more to do with its effect on insulin. Sorry, I should have pointed out that was one of Ragz' Educational Links not a question :)

Vixtress I have only had asparagus twice this year, I really should have taken better advantage but it never occurs to me when I'm meal planning so it doesn't get bought, I never know what to have it with!

Gigi I knew my 2lb loss last week was false so I wasn't surprised by my WI today, I know I'm doing well in general and it will have gone down again by next week. Thanks for the encouragement though :)

Managed 22 lengths today (2 more than last week) hopefully will get a chance to run tomorrow, may have to take DD in the sporty pushchair, it was fine for the 90 second runs but been going out on my own since so not sure how she will cope with me running with her for 20 minutes!

Food as planned (plus a few chips off kids plates at Granny's).
