  • Hello all...

My name is gaga and i have not only fallen off the wagon but filled it with rubbish food and eaten it all. My body is no longer the golden temple it has been this year but an official tin roof hut...plus not one bit of exercise through all the eating, unless reaching on top of the cupboards to raid the emergency rations counts.

However, i did do it the os way...previously this would have been single bars of chocolate (lots of them!) junk food bought from shops, coffees and cakes £££ from the coffee shops and takeaways
galore. This time i made the junk, bought multi packs of chocolate and made the cake. Real os progress, i will take a bow :)

    Ok enough waxing lyrical!

    Stern warning from someone pleeeaaaaase?

Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.
  • Thanks both, newlywed and lovetopaint

hullo! Normally to be found grabbing ideas of the good folk on the workhouse thread but love to join you as I have managed to lose a couple of pounds these last few weeks just by not buying rubbishy snacks, upping veg intake and lowering meat consumption.

I'm making own bread and because that one little loaf has to go round I am careful how much I eat myself.

Also baking, cooking etc (living in the kitchen at the minute!) means I'm always on the go which can only be a good thing.

So I would like to continue really, I love living like this (I do, I feel fulfilled right now, being a proper mum and housewife/homemaker) and if it means I can get below 12 stone, well super.

Evening all. Well done to Ida Notion and Gigi123 on the great losses this week!
Financially Gaga, we all have bad weeks, what is important is not how it affect your weight loss physically but how it affects your attitude mentally. If you can draw a line under it as others have said and try harder next time, then you are winning the battle.
Welcome Freudianslip, well done on your embracing of Old Style ways, I'm sure you'll find yourself at home here. I too love the Oldstyle housewife thing, though the baking and cooking has its downside :snow_grin (that was the fattest smilie I could find).

    Today I have eaten
    - One slice of HM bread toast with marmite and LW soft cheese (no spread)
    - One small plum, half a banana
    - One and a half slices of toast, jam on one spoonful of baked beans on other half. (That was kids leftovers, I have a tendency to not count that as food, but I have a feeling a lot of calories sneak in that way!)
    - Roast lamb, roast potatoes, lots of veg, gravy
    - LF choc mousse (morrisons own, though for some reason I've gone off them after reading Pig gelatine in the ingredients!)
    - Flapjack

Feel a little stuffed now, really didn't need that flapjack --- why did I eat it?

After my post about stopping the mistake and drawing a line.... I um got the milkybar I was craving out of the cupboard - but did only eat 2/5th of it :o

Tomorrow is another day! "fresh with no mistakes in it" or something like that as said by Anne of Greengables :D

  • Thank you for the welcome everyone. I have now got a battery for my scales and my weight is 11st 13lb. According to my bmi i need to be 11st 6lb to be in the healthy range so that is my first goal. Half a stone doesnt seem unachieveable. I dont currently keep a food diary but will start tomorrow. I am aiming more to increase exercise rather than lower calories as i am still breastfeeding and dont want my supply to be affected. Today i went to a zumba class and it nearl killed me, but my food intake included choc fudge cake and lasagne! Tomorrow i am taking my eldest to preschool in the bike trailer so thatsa good start to the week. Does anyone have any suggestions for breakfasts! I usually have toast and jam. I was thinking porridge but am a bit fussy about its consistancy and am used to having sugar in it

  • Morning everyone and welcome barefootlinzi. Your question re breakfast - I try to have something filling so that I am not tempted to snack all morning. Usually it's porridge - at one time I couldn't eat it unless it had a shovelful of golden syrup stirred into it but I substituted the syrup for mixed berries, fruit compote or raspberries & blueberries and gradually got used to it. Now I can't imagine it with syrup in! Another morning I will have Benefit flakes (from Aldi) with a banana sliced into them, with sk milk of course!

Well yesterday I again stuck to plan (wow two days running, almost a record!) apart from a lonesome fig roll left in the packet - and I don't even like the blooming things that's why I buy them!! And the half empty bottle of wine from Friday is still standing there untouched!!

I have just been packing our provisions for our four day trip over to the caravan. My box is full of fruit, salad, veg, FF yogurts, WW granary bread, smoked haddock, tuna steak, chicken, HM soups etc. (Oh and just one bottle of red wine!!) DH's box is crammed with pizza, garlic bread, HM pasta dishes, a massive HM steak pie, quiche etc Not to mention choc chip muffins, Syrup sponge & big jug of custard and a Battenburg cake! Oh and his box of lager! Will need lots of willpower to stop ransacking his supplies! But I CAN AND WILL BE STRONG!! Plus the weather forecast says it's going to pick up (but should I believe it?) so may get lots of walking done. If not, I shall enjoy the peace and quiet and get my nose into a book and keep my fingers out of DH's goody box!

Have a good week everyone, I will check back in Friday morning and hope to hear of great losses!! I just hope I myself am not confessing to all my eating sins!
