Thank you to all who responded to my moan about DD and bullying, she cannot avoid these people as they are her classmates, and some of them even came to her house the other night and were creating fights and shouting outside her windows so causing problems with the neighbours. She does ask me not to interfere - and its a hard one as she is obviously an adult. She has tried to approach her tutor, even put it in writing, but he did nothing at all. I asked her to go to the head but he is not very helpful either.

Ah well, back to foodie thoughts. Yes the Twix was good, and I managed to eat only one of the bars....... but having the second today!

Bfast - toast (in a rush) but was w/meal
    Lunch - chicken sweetcorn roll
    Tea - veggie bolognese
Snack - that Twix calling me from my bag
To those who are given much, much is expected

            Hi ragz
Yeah I get your point about slimming clubs

Hated ww where you had to see if you had enough points to even eat a nana!

With the new SW you fill a third of your plate with veg or fresh fruit. Therefore your 5 a day increases loads ;) and you fill up on those foods and therefore eat less of the rest. All lean meat and rice/pasta is free also. You count all the fats you add, sauces and all the sugary stuff.

I thought I was fairly good at eating healthily but in my head it had turned to "if it's low fat and not processed it must be healthy" :o - cue bread, teacakes, cakes, more bread etc etc.

So SW has made me look again at the amount of bread products that had crept into my diet and I can honestly say I have never eaten so much fresh fruit and veg in my life before :D I hardly use any oil now and have cut right down on bread/biscuits etc. Have cut out all the sugar I used to ladle on my shredded wheat or wtbx.

So it's working for me. :D

          2. several girls in my office are following slimming world and love it. the plan you are on sounds very sensible. i used to find the red day green day one a little bizarre.

thanks ida notion for the tip off about cadburys light mousses! I will try to make a trip and stock up! Im happy to put surplus in the freezer as they become a chocolate ice cream substitute then!

B: it was my last day having strange breakfast of tomato soup!

L: choice between meat pie and quiche eek!! had a slice of quiche (left the crust) with carrots and salad. pear.

S: Mr pincher asked me to eat up the 2 LO chicken thighs and i cudnt see them go to waste :(

D: mr pincher another bad influence as he wanted pizza and we usually share a frozen aldi vegetable 99p pizza. i told him wud be too many cals but when i checked half a pizza is 313cals and 7g fat so i enjoyed that with small salad and again left crusts so may have come under 300 cals.

Ooh - I never thought of freezing them! I like to turf one of them out over a handful of fresh pitted cherries. It's got a kind of Black Forest Gateau taste to it. Another recipe. Move over Nigella and Delia ;)

Newlywed Glad SW seems to be teaching you something about healthy eating, it sounds preferable to WW, especially if they aren't doing the Red/Green thing any more. Seems like they may be getting closer to OldStyle teachings, if it seems to be working for you then that's great.

Have had a total bread-fest today as I was baking with DD this morning (well, she threw flour on the floor, tried to eat flour, prodded dough, tried to eat dough...). Then lasagne for dinner and I did not attempt to make it low fat... oops.

Hi everyone, hope it's ok just to wade in like this!

I've been on a 'healthy eating regime' for three weeks now (can't bring myself to say diet) and am getting really mopey. My downfall is junk food (the golden arches and the local pizza shop)

I only weighed myself yesterday for the first time as have been in denial for too long about the numbers. Hoping if I skulk in here I might keep motivated!!

Thanks Ragz, I'm desperate for some motivation so will be reading up as much as possible!
          8. Morning all and welcome to even more newbies! I haven't been on here for 2 days - the DGDminding has taken up all my time and energy! They descended at 6.30 Thurs morning, one to take to school then the younger ones to entertain all day (trip out). The baby went home at 6.00 p.m. but the other two wanted to sleep over (aaargh!) waking us up at 5.30 Friday morning! Then it all started again with the baby coming back at 6.30 a.m! By the time they all went at 4.30 yesterday afternoon I was shattered and anything and everything was getting eaten!! So it's back on the wagon yet again today and I really must be good to compensate for all the kids food and rubbish I have eaten over the last 2 days!!

B - Porridge with mixed berry compote
L - HM Tomato & Basil soup and 5 crackerbreads spread with Laughing Cow lite. Bowl of salad. WW berry fromage frais & strawberries
D - Jacket potato with prawns (no dressing!) and more salad. Mini meringue, SF jelly, raspberries and FF yogurt.
            S - grapes & satsumas

(Hi "neighbour" vixtress - the DGD's enjoyed Ilkley park as usual, plus feeding the ducks on the river. We don't live in Ilkley (unfortunately) but about half an hour away)
