yesterday was ok but could have been better, meals were fine but i had a general feeling of having eaten a bit much and a few picky bits crept in. a biscuit at work, parmasan on my healthy tea etc. you get my drift and half a bottle of red wine
not too sure of todays plan
breakfast will be the usual toast i think
lunch, left over cous cous and veg
have no idea about dinner, dont know if OH will be here to eat or not.
fingers crossed xx

morning everyone x and welcome to the thread meatsweats.
thanks for the black forest gateau substitute tip ida notion - I'll have to try that. I like to dip strawberries in mine and feel like I'm eating posh indulgent chocolate covered strawberries.
plan today is:
B: 2 boiled eggs with 1 slice dry wm toast (i share eggs with toddler and get him to eat the majority of the yolk so i still get some yolk goodness but not too much fat. he needs yolk nutrients and fat more than me so seems to be a good solution)
L: wild mushroom bulgar wheat with black eyed beans and salad
S: nectarinestir fry maybe
good luck to all x x0 -
Three slices of jam on toast this morning, DH's fault because I made him toast and he decided he didn't want it and I couldn't waste my HM bread!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hi All – in a bit of a rush so not had time to read back and catch up yet but well done to the losers this week and welcome to the newbies.
I managed to control my eats really well while I was away. I’m beginning to find this all a bit easier at the moment….my energy has returned, my hunger is settling down and my metabolism seems to have kicked in again....and best of all I’ve lost a massive 3½lbs this week.I’m so pleased with that after trying so hard and seeing virtually no movement week after week…..I feel so motivated at the moment.
Today
B – Porridge
S – Whole grapefruit – with canderel to sweeten
L – Scrambled egg, tomato, 4 ryvita

congrats on all the weght loss reports!
a friend cooked a lasagne for me the other day which was lovely but not sure it would help weightloss... here are the ingredients if anybody has any tips on how to make it a bit more diet friendly...
Spinach and Courgette Lasagne Serves 4
* 225g spinach
* 250g lasagne sheets
* 2 medium courgettes, grated
* 2 roasted red peppers or 150g sunblushed tomatoes
* Green salad to serve
For the sauce:
* 3tbsp oil
* 50g plain flour
* 500ml skimmed milk
* 100g Gruyere cheese, grated
* 1tsp mustard
* Salt and black pepper
All i'm thinking is using reduced fat mature cheese instead of the Gruyere? and possibly less oil? could 200g lasagna sheets work instead of 250g but with more veg filling? do you think it would taste alright without mustard as we don't use it / never have in.0 -
Newlywed Glad SW seems to be teaching you something about healthy eating, it sounds preferable to WW, especially if they aren't doing the Red/Green thing any more. Seems like they may be getting closer to OldStyle teachings, if it seems to be working for you then that's great.
That's why I chose it. With WW you seemed to have to weigh everything - with SW EE you have so many free foods you only measure the sauces, fats, sugar etc.
To be honest it's the first time in a long time that I haven't given up as soon as I have overeaten. The books say still count how far you've gone over as it might reduce the damage you could do - then just pick yourself up and carry on the next day. Usually I'd give up and eat everything in sight!!!
I have purposely not gone to classes though as I don't want to be swayed away from OS
Though I do have to confess to having bought splendadon't like it at all
went against all my good ideas and thought I would try it
At least it didn't cost too much - coz it'll sit in the cupboard for an awfully long time - unless i donate it to one of the girls at work doing SW :rotfl:
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Oh dear! A bad day!
Had bran flakes and low fat yoghurt for breakfast but got swayed towards pizza hut at lunchtime. I had two bowls of saladand two slices of pizza
I vow to do better tomorrow! Went for a three mile bike ride this afternoon to try to burn some of the pizza off but I regret slipping already!
I have next to zero willpower0 -

Spinach and Courgette Lasagne Serves 4
* 225g spinach
* 250g lasagne sheets
* 2 medium courgettes, grated
* 2 roasted red peppers or 150g sunblushed tomatoes If these are in oil be sure to blot them with kitchen roll to get most of the oil off
* Green salad to serve
For the sauce:
* 3tbsp oil That's over 300 calories in the oil, you can make a white sauce with cornflour and skimmed milk that doesn't need butter or oil
* 50g plain flour
* 500ml skimmed milk
* 100g Gruyere cheese, grated use less of find a lighter cheese
* 1tsp mustard
* Salt and black pepper

That's the best I can do, it sounds yummy though! As it's vegetarian it's not actually that unhealthy a meal I wouldn't have thought, maybe make it the proper way but have less of it, with a large salad (taking oil out will affect the flavour a bit, especially as there's no meat and you don't want veg to dry out).June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
