Jenny - if nobody likes brown bread have you tried the 50% stuff?
I like my porridge with syrup:D but its quite nice with some dried fruit in - raisins or apricots and I find if I chop a banana up in it I dont need the sugar.
An apple mullerlite stirred into porridge is also very tasty.

I quite often have eggs for brekkie - the protein is a good filler upper.

LOL, yes tried the 50/50 stuff, the kids looked at it and said 'I'm NOT eating that'! :p

Re porridge, I don't like syrup or honey, or dried fruit... Makes me look like a picky water, but I'm not, honest! I do like bananas, but I would never have put them together! (And I have to feel like eating a banana, not likely at 8am!)

Might try the mullerlite stirred in, though. :)

I would LOVE to have egg for breakfast, I just don't have time to cook one! I am up and showered by 7.15am, then I get the girls up, but they are so difficult to get going in the mornings, it takes me all my time to get them up dressed, fed and teeth brushed before leaving for school at 8.30am.

Thanks for the advice. :D :A

    Morning all

Haven't posted for a few days as I am adjusting to my non-SW status (well you can guess what's happening can't you?!) but I feel in a more self-disciplined mood today so hopefully I can take control again.

I'm still not very good around things like cakes and biscuits. I need to replace my 'ooh I can eat cake now' thoughts with ' yes I can eat cake but I choose to have just one slice' thoughts. DD1 made a lovely cake with cherries in it the other day and I did have more than my share and she then complained that she'd hardly had any of it! This made me feel like a bit of a pig - but I did need a reminder not to be greedy - lesson learned. So I'm determined not to do that again.
I haven't weighed myself since last Monday and my exercise is slipping - though I do a lot of walking - will weigh myself Mon or Tue and I will do my exercise DVD today.

Br: Toast, marg and ginger preserve (have to eat this up as nobody else likes it!)
    L: Pasta and pesto.
T: Quorn cottage pie and cabbage.
Just fruit for snacks and no late night cheese sandwiches!.

    Have a good day everybody.
Well done to your son Keiss 21!

    morning

Thanks for the welcomes especially mlz1413 for all the tips, the problem with my museli is I add loads of nuts and seeds which are probably quite calorific so I'll try plain porridge for a while until the weight is shifted. Your right about the milk though, I'll try to work out how much I use. I've bought myself a seperate pint of skimmed to see how much I use.
Stuck to plan mainly yesterday except for a rice cake with marmite and a crumpet with butter :( about 10.30 when I was starving.

Decided not to be too strict and allow the occasional treat as like jenny, I'll only want it more like the buttered crumpet last night , bread things + butter = my weakness.

    Today

B: porridge + water + dried fruit (not eaten yet think I'm coming down with the lurgy that the rest of my family have)
L: spinach, tomato and egg salad
S: tiny square of chocolate brownie :o, already eaten (I'm ill!) and apples pears
D: low fat HM lasagne (prepped last night) and salad

    I'll probably have a couple of G's + low cal T's tonight too ;)

hope you all have a virtuous day :A

EDIT: Just received an email from OH, he thinks we've done well all week and should have a treat tonight so he's been to Sainsburys and bought the £10 meal deal, got Paella, GOOSE FAT potatoes, strawberry CHEESECAKE and wine . Dont know whether to be  or :j. I'll have paella and try to resist everything else, I'll serve the potatoes to everyone else on sunday... wish me luck

Weeeelll. I've been MIA for a bit, but generally sticking to The Plan. Weight isn't going too quickly, but at least it's going. I'm down 2.95kg. this seems to be about 6 1/2 lb. Not much for the time I've been going, but it's down which is the important thing.

Problem is that I'm easing off the medication that I take over the winter, it's giving me my appetite back and I'm starting to feel hungry.

    Never mind, stick with it.

  • ellas9602 - That's exactly the kind of thing my OH would do! He doesn't quite understand that this is a healthy lifestyle change and honestly thinks that if we eat healthily during the week then we must reward ourselves with fattening treats at the weekend! Luckily I've managed to tame him a bit now :p

    Today's plan:
B: Porridge made with water, half banana, spoonful of strawb jam
L: Tuna and spinach salad, some carrot/celery stick, plum
    Snack: Pear
D: Basa fillet with HM wedges, peas and sweetcorn
Snack: Small slice of HM cake + cup of tea

Exercise: 1 hour cardio at gym + 200 sit ups

    Have a good day all....it's Friday! :j:beer:

    Snacks: teacake and a pear

Thanks again everyone for your kind wishes....I have passed them on to DS2, who is a bit embarassed about it all. All the school's teachers know about it now and each one congratulated him today...he wasn't sure where to look! :o

We went out to the cinema tonight to see Invictus...yet more rugby a great film though. We had tea first - HM fajitas with rubber chicken...so no food bought or consumed at the piccies - result!

Oh, OH, I nearly forgot...I have LOST 4 pounds this week!!:j:j...lets hope I can keep it off this time! ;) I think that little switch in my head has just clicked..as I haven't had food cravings for a few days, and now am actively looking for healthy stuff..about bloomin' time!

All in all this has been a great week, I am still bouncing about a bit with DS2's news. I had a meeting at work on Thursday, and did some training today..so getting back into thinking again...it is quite shattering. Mind you I suppose it is to be expected after being off work for 14 months! I have more training scheduled for the next two weeks before getting fully back into the swing of things, about time too!

So now I really have to get to bed as I am shattered. I also have a Qigong session tomorrow morning, so don't want to miss that.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Wow Keiss, well done thats great and a belated congrats to your DS2 :T

I've not been keeping track of everyones progress this week as I've rarely been home before 9pm so a broad congrats to all the losers and hugs for those who are struggling.

Well I had a pretty good week overall and managed to resist multiple temptations and as a result I've lost 1 lb, had hoped for more but slow and steady is the key so I can't complain because at least its going the right way :D

B: 2 wholemeal toast & HM marmalade no butter

L: Probably a mozarella ciabatta with toms and pesto

D: No idea, DH choice as its his birthday

Hoping to go out to the forest mountain biking today so maybe that will offset whatever OH chooses. On the plus side he didn't want a birthday cake, just an egg custard tart which I really don't like so no chance of me slipping up there :rotfl:

    Have a good weekend all
